Don't play DoTa.. never really liked that game.. I do from time to time still play custom games on battlenet.. And recently actualy became a chieftain on a tree tag clan ♦
For HoN never played that either. I might try it some day.

fuck the wc3 engine.
yeah ok disconnecting is the one issue it has up on dota, but i dont play much pubs where it actually matters, save/reload is good enough
well , the disconection doesnt rly matter if you play cw , since you save every kill made or tower down , so it's ok. and as i said , a chineese dude is working to make the same disconection thing for wc3 as its in HON. So i hope he makes it:)

I recently started playing DotA again since I missed some heroes that haven't been ported to HoN, like phantom lancer and windrunner.
as for dealing with disconnects, just join a playdota.eu game lobby. since the game is hosted by a bot, you wont be dealing with disconnects 
im getting 18ms ping on the servers which is awesome.

No contest between DoTA and HoN. HoN clearly wins.. the stand-alone engine was always gonna be better than hijacking the WC3 one.

so HoN/LoL will be dead pretty soon. valve's game will surely be epic and welcomed by the valve community and the former dota/hon/lol communities. i expect real challenges in the new game which valve will make.

Used to play both Dota and Hon but school and social interactions came in the way.

Sandking for sure , PotM, which is sometimes a gamble cause you may have good days when u hit arrows and play good and days when you play her like a donk if you will , tiny, basically every hero that can gank and be useful to the team , without having to farm all game and then come to end it.I like some carry heroes but its just not my playstyle.
-Favorite Clan? Liked Ks.int back in the day, also long time acolo when coL had a team, they were pretty good and verGe.But that was in the old dota.Now I guess since people switch team so much , you dont know who to root for, especially in the European/NA scene.

Yea, I played in Dimension 4 Gaming ( French Clan ) for sometime,could've gonna a lot higher in terms of skill but after sometime of grinding strategies and practicing too much , I didnt feel like playing anymore, so I quit.
Pretty sad that my dream at that time was to get into a proffesional team, and after things got better and better, my love for the game fell short.
Atm, I only play on dota-league for fun , when im not playing Poker, Starcraft II or Killing Floor.

Dunno but I would imagine for a long time, since I saw the birth of professional dota and stuff.Had a lot of breaks tho, cause like a lot of games it gets boring if you play it too much.
And about the HoN and LoL debate.I think they both have they're pros and cons.But they , in my opinion , dont look proffesional enough.I mean I'm not nit-picking but LoL looks like its made for people under the age of 12.And maybe its just me but I dont like my games looking like that.No offense to people who like it, its jusy my opinion and why I dont play the game myself.
HoN, being less popular in than LoL might get buried after Dota 2 comes out.
Lets see how Dota 2 fairs , I would imagine it will look good, since its on the source engine.I hope it does awesome since the game needs new engine and new look for sometime now.

I played HoN for maybe 6 months, with some WoW friends who moved to it after WoW went down the tubes.
-Favorite Hero - Voodoo Jester for a good, non-item-dependent support. I nearly always ended up support, because it seems everyone in HoN is only interested in their own KDR.
-Favorite Clan - N/A
-Any good? - not really. I support random queued my way to 16xx.
-How long - played 6 months before deleting the game.
I found HON frustrating for few couple of reasons. Firstly the game is very twitch - more so even than the RTS games that spawned it - and I'm getting past prime gaming age so my reflexes aren't massively great. 100 APM is fine for SC2, but a split second delay in HoN is game over.
Secondly the player base is complete and utter shyte. I don't know if it is just HON or all games of that nature, but 4 out of 5 players I met are anti social abusive wankers, while the 5th is probably as well but too illiterate to fully make his point known. Even the guys I played with from WoW - otherwise fairly decent people - turned into twats in HoN. I guess it just brings out the butt-hurt blame train driver in people.
Thirdly, the HoN developers for whatever reason thought that it would be a good idea to add a new, absurdly overpowered hero every week rather than balancing existing flaws. Some heros are herp-a-derp easy to play (e.g. Rampage) while others can border on completely useless (post-nerf Nymphora), but the developer's focus is on designing new content.
If someone asked me to recommend if they should give this game a go or not, I would say hell no.
