I'm in a weird spot atm, basically doomswitched since July, losing consistently for a while but RB is keeping me afloat. Talked to Dawnfall today at the tables and after a quick gander at his PTR graph, it looks almost the same as mine, except he's been playing some 15/30 so the damage is worse.
My motivation to become a "great" FL player instead of a decent one who can maintain an okay winrate has pretty much gone away, even if I hit some mega heater and ship 5k tomorrow my mid term plan is to get better as fast as I can at this new game that has a far brighter future, and although is notoriously known for variance, I have received enough beatings at FLHE to be at least somewhat prepared.
The fact is, I simply don't have that fire to be the best I can be anymore and I feel like the love I have for the game has brought me as far as I've gotten, which is a great achievement, but I think long term it can only be a secondary game for me/means to earn VPPs in a crunch.
I'm going to give PLO everything I've got, and next year will be the test to see if I've got what it takes.
I've been getting weekly PLO coaching and each week for the past month or so and each day I get more motivation to play and learn this new game.
It's really fun and exciting right now, reminds me of when I first became a winning SH player, the feeling that even though you're losing pretty bad you're losing less each session and your play from last weeks coaching session is full of super obvious-to-you-now mistakes.
The plan as of now is to keep playing FL so secure the 300k VPP bonus which I'm relatively on pace for, I only need to earn 40k more by the end of the year which should be fine given my current volume. I'm gonna aim to earn exactly 40k by playing FL so I can maximise my remaining time for PLO.
I'll still probably play a bit of FL simply for monetary reasons until PLO is more EV+, and when that day comes I don't think I'll look back.
So yeah, that's about it, any questions feel free to ask, I'm sorry about the tragic lack of T'n'A promised for the thread, I'll try get on top of that asap.

I thought I'd share my PLO graph from this year to show my progress ![]()
The first 12k hands are simply donking around after watching a few vids and being truly terrible at the game.
Then I got an amazing 7k hand breakeven stretch which I'm super excited about, cause I'm not a total baddie anymore! I'm working towards being a winner slowly but surely, receiving weekly coaching atm and reviewing a lot of sessions.
Every day I'm 1 step closer to being a PLO baller!!

TnA, I chose to go with the timeless Misa Campo once again, this time from a different angle.

Oh right, just remembered i wanted to ask u sth few days ago:
You mentioned u spoke to Dawnfall about ur situation in FL, so my question is what were your conclusion abt FL mid stakes, or what did he say abt his experiences and what he wants to do with it?
And what are your thoughts abt level of the game at FL?
Imo this game already reached the thoughest level for any given limit, and it shouldnt become any harder.. Below 5/10 i think games will stay "soft" forever, cause everyone who is beating it good, moves up (allmost everone), and therefore there remain only ton of B/E regs (after RB, slightly loosing without), few winning regs, and quite some fish.
And above 5/10, you have to be really good to win and imo it cannot get much harder anymore anyway.
And my thoughts abt switching to PLO:
Had been thinking abt it too, but just for the reason FL can't really get any thougher, i rather stick with it, cause by the time i would have gotten good at PLO, it will prolly be quite though too.
And NLHE is pretty though already so... FL for life ♦
I like your decision although it looks like you're drunk after looking at your PLO graph... ![]()
Good luck and more T'n'A please!

Sorry, didn't mean to hurt your feelings
-I'm only 3 stacks below EV for that graph xD, it's cause I'm not good at the game, I can't tell how I'm running really 'cause I'm not good enough yet.
-I think dawnfall might be playing NL soon
-Now some of the best midstakes players come down as low as T/20 to play, which sucks, and also games don't run super often on 30/60 and above, unlike PLO. I still think I'm good enough to beat T/20 but 30k hands of -1BB/100 is so demoralising, it's hard to get good volume when you also table select at that stake so running terrible as I take shots has hurt me a lot, I can't "grind through" the variance.
-If you still have the will and motivation to get good at FL, do it, if you try to make yourself the best you will always be able to win there.
my PLO graph is even worse ♦ i gave up trying to get good at it after abot 100k hands, but i'm ridiculously undisciplined. hopefully you'll succeed where i failed
