[Closed] PokerStars, Can your really win? Does anyone know somebody that has actually made it?

Im no veteran, but I cant fault Pokerstars

I havent played many hands, maybe 5k in the 5-6 weeks since i started playing micro cash on stars, but Ive seen my tiny bankroll double. I realise I am outmatched by quite a few players at the tables, but Ive still enjoyed some success.

Same for the micro tourneys. Ive been very lucky and had some success (regular cashes) over the last month, simply by playing a tighter, more aggressive style.

Bankroll managment has had ALOT to do with it also. I stopped playing the $8 and $11 tourneys and limited myself to a max of $5 a tourney.

This has been easier on my bankroll, and for a change, I feel I'M outplaying people.

Maybe your just playing outside your bankroll/skill level dude.

Yeah, sometimes I feel i can't manage correctly my bankroll. Nevertheless, It's pretty hard to raise your bankroll playing 0.25 or 1 dollar tournaments following the 2% rule

No you cant. Didnt you hear that Pokerstars is rigged?

I've heard a lot of things. That's the reason I don't really know if online poker is really fair.

Get with the times dude. Stars isn't rigged, FTP is rigged these days. Stars being rigged is so 2006.

If you want to see unfair in online poker, look up the Ubet cheating scandal (some players were able to see opponents hole cards).

This is almost certainly not happening on the major sites, CERTAINLY not at the micro/low limits you are playing on.

of course you've heard a lot.. the most losing players are bitching around and calling this or that site "rigged". I haven't heard any player with 50+k in lifetime winnings to say that ever, unless it was supposed to be sarcasm or he was really drunk.

So you have applied every single rule, perhaps that's where you are going wrong. Rules are only guidelines, they are not set in stone and with poker instinct is more important. We all suffer from Bad beats, sometimes several on the trot but this should not prevent you making money. Poker is about making the correct decisions. Obviously you are making incorrect decisions so that needs to be rectified.

It is possible to make money but it isn't easy. I have increased my bankroll steadily over the past 2 years but it has been slow, especially starting from the lowest stakes. Patience is vital and not going on tilt also but you know that anyway.

Picking your spots to raise and go all in is the key. I have most success at Sit N Go so thats what I mainly play. I am not so strong at cash so tend to limit my play to small stakes and 9 players. You must know which type of game you are best at so stick with that.

If you are losing regularly then change the way you play !

Totally disagreed, 0,25 tournaments are super fishy and i don't know easier way to win money. If you play good and out in some volume, you'll see that your BR allows you to play at higher limits in no time

I won 1.10$ in a weekly round 2 freeroll, and already managed to turn it into 25$ so yes, I'd say it is possible to beat the game. Just start at the lowest limit, and move up, if you can't beat the lowest limit... Then you are just doing something wrong.
