I see new blogs are made every day so i thought to myself: "Why wouldnt i start as well?" Its for sure gonna be +EV (Lets call it Enjoy value =)), isnt it? I mean who cares if anyone reads this (please do, please do) Im starting this blog to remind me whats my goal and to keep me on the +EV way ;) So if you by any mistake actually read this, i shall introduce myself. Im 20 years old student. Living in Czech Republic. Studying Economy. Still living with my parrents and my older brother(-EV), hoping to start living on my own, hopefully moving out during studies. (My parents are cool, but wouldnt it be nice to have own place? :P) Currently without a gf (-EV ou yea :/) I like sports of all sorts. Like swimming, running, boxing, tenis etc. Im also a lot interested in psychology, altough im a bit lazy to read difficult psychology books. Anyway why dont we already talk about poker?? My poker career (hahah poker career...) started like a year ago when i for the first time experienced the game. I liked it of course and me and my friends decided to buy chips and since then we play like once a month just small home live tourney 4-7 ppl. Well i started playing online like a 6 months ago? Not sure about the date, but what im sure about is that i lost all money iv every played with. Then i finally got to pokerstrategy.com (that was a damn +EV occurrence for my life). At first i wasnt learning much and i didnt care much about strategy and so i lost my 50$ free capital.. After that i didnt care about poker much, until a month ago. I realized i dont have job, i dont have many hobbies and so i should give it a real try to become regular poker player. So i deposited 50$ to Stars and started SSS. Went bad though. Was running very bad and the SSS just didnt seem right. So with like 20$ i started playing BSS NL2 =) and i enjoyed it (although 2$ stacks seemed too low). I got back to 50$ and i tried SSS again, because i wanted to go to NL5 BSS asap. Well again i had horrible bad lucky few days and i ended up down to 30$, thats when i got angry, i deposited another 80$ and started NL5 BSS. Went well for me and today i switched to NL10 with 260$. Today was going well too and im at 295$ right now. UPDATED: Now There is something i would like to share with you. Its this super idea i got just when i woke up. Since we all know setting monetary goals is not what we shall go for, and so i dont want to end every post with my BR size number, i thought up something i call Value of Improvement. VoI - Souns good heh? &diams; Now whats this really about?? Well, lets see what improves our game - Reading articles - Watching videos - Participating at coachings - Posting hands - Playing and practicing And all of this improves our Value of Improvement. So -Every read or reread article gives me + 2 VoI -Every video watched or rewatched gives me +3 VoI -Every live coaching gives me +5 VoI -Every hand posted and discussed gives me + 1 VoI -Every 1000 hands played gives me + 1VoI Now for my goals: Updated 2.12.2009. Current VoI - 1000 Make about 200 VoI/month steadily. Improve mental aspects of the game. Move up limits when there is the right time... No rush =) My longterm goal: Play 100% correct poker with perfect mindset keeping emotions behind. Play some decent limit that would ensure some decent income to live from poker and travel a lot for some time. We should prob. raise the stakes? Like lets say post 5 hands w decent explanation per week or comment 10 hands in hadn evaluation forum?
or if u ahve any toher idea dont be afraid to come out of ur closet and give us a shout (lil. sneaky refference here as well ♦)

nl100

Okay guys, so i made my shot on nl100 which went well and i kept playing it this week.

Im feeling ok about it. I think i have an edge on nl100 for sure. The question is if its bigger than the rake paid ♦ Nah.. I feel like there is not that great difference between nl50 and nl100..

Its been 10k hands on nl100 now so im posting the graph.. Obviously i cant say im confident on nl100 now.. but im getting used to it and its less and less scared money :P..

We will see what the bigger sample will bring us in next months, but im ready to move back to nl50 whenever i feel like its necessary or to rebuild confidence..

Also.. Its always important to run hot like a pro when you shoot for a new limit ♠_cool:

Overall im happy with my mindset as i dont feel bad about the run or anything.. i mean its not like i lost a lot, its just running under EV...

Yesterday we did hit the clubs in Prague with GRK, BoBo, TT and Jonas.. Check the prague party blog if you wanna know more.. actually there not that many informations but whatever ♦

Today We drink + TT plays LoC and then we hit the clubs again.. tomorrow sick grinding day.. I feel so good about the volume this week.. And more is about to come tomorrow..

Update time

So the party + grinding week with TT and Jonas is over.

It motivated me a lot.. I did shoot nl100 with not a bad results and i played a ton this week.

It was awesome guys! Hope to see you soon again

So last week review:

Im happy especially with the volume.. I never was a big grinder but i feel that the more hands you play the better you feel about your game + variance lowers etc.

The profit is also okay The important thing is i didnt lose 5 stacks on nl100 with my first shot.. So now i can play it a bit more and see how it goes.

Next week i need to take care of some school stuff so the volume will be for sure lower.. But im still gonna aim for 15k.. Shouldnt be that hard..

Its the end of the week so its some update time

This week was fulltime nl100 rush 3 tabling. I wont talk about results too much as im obviously happy with that. Its actually my best week ever.

The volume isnt that great.. I was going for 15k but failed.. Still its ok and no big fail there..

Im obviously running good.. not in terms of all-in EV or setups but simply i run into bad opponents with good hands in good times.. You might say that its not running hot, im outplaying them, but the truth is as far as i have this winrate i do run good. When you run good it doesnt just mean u hold on with ur AA preflop or you suck with KK vs AA pre or you have nut flush vs flush.. Being dealt right hands in right time against the fish = being able to valuebet something is also running good..

So yea, its not like im crushing those tables.. I dont think my edge is big on nl100, but i do believe i do have an edge there, and thats what matters.
Ill try to play my best next week and we will see how i can cope with potential bad runs on nl100 in the future..

Next week i aim again at 15k hands.. I really did use some time ineffectively this week so lets hope ill improve that..

Also i prepaid DC for a month so there will be lot of video studies + some downloading going on.. Especially i enjoy videos from BalugaWhale as he is my favourite coach

Hi ps.

October was one hell of a month for me.

It was my best month so far volumewise.

It was my best month so far with how i feel about my game and about my progress. Its like some of the work i did put in is finally starting to show some results. Im trying not to be results oriented but its good for my mindset to see something is happening.. Also im thinking about + analyzing spots much more now as nl100 is a new challenge for me.

For next month i dont have any profit goals or targets.. I wanna play 60k hands again though.. I wanna keep playing nl100.. I wanna put as much A-game hands in as possible.. This month will be much more school oriented as well so hopefully ill manage the same volume.. Wish me luck
