hy guys, I felt it was time for an update...now that everybody is in Vienna prolly partying and feeling awesome...I feel sad, partyless
Sick and lonely feeling.
Tomorrow I cant play cause of some stuff I have to take care for uni., like studying and bs like that. So I moved my mtt night for tonight. Playing a bunch of mtts and some freeroles as well, like the 30k gtd and the 100k gtd.
Im not gona talk about my poker results, because they are not existant. Still in that huuuuuge hole, which just keeps getting bigger and bigger. For a change Im not gonna think about it, I may get into even more makeup in the staking, but I just wont let my concentration flow that way, I need all my knowledge and mojo to make the most profitable decisions possible, and I noticed that I cant do that if I constantly checking out my graph. There is just no point. even worse that can make me play with scared money...which my coach pointed out, and thats the worst imo.
So pro mindset for the win...
Made a deal with a friend of mine who is a really good mtsng coach btw, if you are interested in his coachings I highly recommend it, defo worthwhile, after only 1 coaching I learned a lot, and we will have another session or two next week. So Im doing everything to build up my confidence and improve my game and make a lot of money...wait forget that, to make good decisions...the money will come in time...
my big fav Nielsen passed away, so its a sad day for me.
It doesnt help that I suck at poker, but hey, its just poker...at least we can enjoy life along the way.
Failed an exam today, but at least I could leave early and spend the afternoon with my girlfriend. Tonight Im gonna play only a little. I will be focusing on grinding the small stakes mtsngs and only playing mtts twice a week. Wont be easy cause I love them so much- for now its pretty one sided.
now off to watch some vids and analyze. Then maybe play like 50 sngs or so. Wish me luck in the long run
(I stole that from Glitlr btw :P)
Frank: "Btw, I have faked every orgasm"
"Surely, you can't be serious."
"I am serious, and don't call me Shirley."
RIP Leslie Nielson, I had a chance to meet him when he was in Winnipeg a few years ago. truly funny man and a complete class act.
This weekend we will set up a memorial movie watching with my friends. After that we get drunk and prolly go to a party(if the weather wont get worse)♠_thumbsup:
I've been running bad before, but its getting sicker and sicker. But I don't want to talk about that, when I analyzed the games, I found mistakes that I didn't even consider to be mistakes at all. I've read a lot of articles about pushing and calling ranges, and I was surprised how nitty I am in some spots. Im working on it now, but I have the feeling that I overdo it sometimes.
In mtts I feel more confident than in mtsngs, but I wont play too much of them until my bad run continues. I will grind sngs and from points will sat myself into bigger trnys, and also planning to play the CECOOP- well, at least some events. Will see how good I run until then.
Yesterday I had my first green session and thats a sign of somthin positive I guess. I had countless losing sessions before. Tomorrow I might play some mtts as well if I keep up the good work, maybe even tonight, will see.
Will keep you updated ♠_cool:
As a child, I was a big fan of tree climbing ofc. We have a huuuuge tree in our yard and I felt obliged to climb it every time I went outside to play. Sunday we always have a family lunch, and I decided to brag about my tree climbing skills. Thats when my grandpa said: "The more good you think you are the harder you going to fall when you make a mistake". I was 8 or so...didnt get the meaning of the wise words. But next day when I went climbing I slipped and fell, almost bashed my skull in, it was a hard fall. Thats when I promised myself not to make that mistake, not to climb trees overconfidently... I pretty much did a great job, never fell again. not from that tree anyways...
At the start of my poker career I won a big mtt for like 5k or so, and I was completely happy. I already imagined myself how I win the WSOP main event next year and the year after everybody will want to sign me to represent them. Thats when I started to get into HS or higher stakes sngs and cash games. I really was convinced that I can do anything I want. I even wanted to go boku-like and win from 100k from 100$, playing 40 tables and stuff.
I was a complete idiot, but when I lost like 2k in sngs and 1.5k in cash I was like...wait...maybe, just maybe you are not the next Phil Ivey... Thats when I started to actually learn poker...and saw what kind of stupid mistakes I've made. I really wanted to go back in time and just slap myself.
From that point I did ok in poker I played tournaments mostly, earned myself some decent money-decent for my standards.
Now I am staked by TT, which is by far the biggest opportunity that I got in my life. I wanted to make a good impression so started of with midstakes trnys, I really feel that I beat the majority of those fields, but got into some really sick setups and unfortunate hands. After that I started to play mtsngs to balance the swings a bit. I started with a quick heater and won some 180mans...Then I started to grind those like a sicko and Im in the red again. Thats when I realized I may be "climbing" a bit overconfidently again. I was/am in a downswing for sure, but I may have eased the blow. I started to take back on volume and to get more time studying and analyzing the games I played the day before, and I must say I feel the improvement after just 1 week. I found a sick mtsng site from which Im going to learn every day and make myself a sick player on this limit- if I cant do it I will just step back 1 limit and grind it out from there.
I'll take back from the trny volume as well, ofc I signed up for those trnys- but I wont grind them until I feel confident enough in these mtsngs.
Wish me luck at improving- dont forget: "The more good you think you are the harder you going to fall when you make a mistake"
Hi!
I just found your english blog, i didn't know you have an other than the hungarian. I read it all over and i think it's edifying and inspiring as the other, and i'm lucky cause i can read both of it. Keep up te good work, don't lose your persistence and hope! Big money on the way, i'm sure. GL
@vegas2- ty for your kind words, they really mean a lot, especially in times like these
and dont worry, I wont lose hope. going to grind it out with a cool head... more on this in this post...
...yes this post.
No major changes when money is in question. Im unf still down a considerable amount with the staking, and I understand that the boss is losing his patience ♦ Well, I dont blame him thats for sure. - actually he told me to keep it cool, but if I go broke he is out, which is reasonable more or less
A funny thing got in my mind- actually I had a nice talk with a friend of mine, who is my coach as well...we went through a lot of interesting topics, and I really felt that he understood me. I really respect his opinion and he told me to just keep a cool head, plug my leaks on the lower limits and come back improved.
Thats what Im doing right now, improving in many ways.
I dont tilt any more, dont even say curse words when I get sucked out on, it just doesnt bother me anymore. Now Im focusing all my attention on my decision making- I figured that if I want to live from this one day I have to learn dealing with these stuff, and absolutely free my thoughts from worrying about the outcome. We made a decision, now its out of our hands. (its the only way to play this game and stay mentally healthy)
Today I had some sick beats, but was so happy to see Im starting to get into this- and shoving, calling and folding correctly.
Also I started to play HU sngs, but I wont grind those until I get enough theoretical background. Ofc Im gonna play 1or2, but gonna def study them first.
We had a nice talk about luck as well and I think thats going to be an even more interesting topic- so I've decided to dedicate a whole new post for it, but Im going to write it rn until I have my mojo going
What is luck? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more...
So, I had this crazy down in november, which I realized that could have been less brutal if I had made the improvements that Im making now. Was I really unlucky here?
Sure lost some k- but looked into my game and spoted big leaks- and Im sure its just the beginning and I will find even more. Can't wait to do that actually. Now we are more or less talking about mtsngs but mtts cant be excluded, because my main problem was jamming and calling ranges and adjusting. Slightish leaks for sngs huhhh?
My point is, that if I had started with a nice upswing- sure it would have been more comfortable- but would have I found these leaks? or would have waited for another maybe bigger down to realize that something is wrong. Im really putting my game under a microscope now- and plugging leaks that may have cost me a lot more in the long run.
Is this down an unlucky event? or I interpret it as such. I'm not saying that I'm happy with it, just saying that it might have done something good as well.
I told my coach- this may sound a bit weird- that I am really happy I didn't win the sunday million or any bigger trnys last year.
I think I would have lost perspective whats important and whats not. I wasn't ready to win big. I wouldn't, actually couldn't have handled it...I wasn't "mature" enough (Im sure there is a better word for it- but you get what I'm saying).
My point is, that luck comes in different forms and we may not even realize that what we thought was a terribly unlucky event or happening, we actually got lucky with it somehow. Unf this goes the other way around as well...I thought its just something that could be interesting to think about for at least a few minutes.

quoting myself: "u have to learn how to lose .... to be able to win"
anyway, true words. make sure u dont only write it down ... but also live it.
luck equals out longterm dont worry. focus on your game and you will ship it big soon enough
Great pots Arnolde, hope you get some results soon! Have started studying jamming ranges too, love TG, he's a legend!

♠_thumbsup: Im doin it, thats why I wrote it down ♦ maybe this doesn't make much sense rn, but I understand it ♦
@dapperdan: yeah, he is great. How much work put into this one huhh? sick, I guess with all these free or cheap info we can't really allow ourselves not to get them and not to study them. we should have a discussion about it btw in the future
wow you guys are terrible...not a single hangover tip.
I see 3 main reasons:
1.You never get drunk, so don't have any tips
2.You just don't care about me being alive
3.You don't read this blog
