The online guys are way better than the TV pros who have made their millions way back in the day, playing these super soft tournaments and all the rich fish at the casinos.
The games have changed alot and the TV/old school guys just cannot compete with all the online players who have worked their asses off to get as good as they are now by posting thousands of hands on the forums, discussing poker with other players and just grinding a lot. They think about poker hands in a way that the TV pros can't even imagine. I doubt many of them ''pros'' are even thinking in terms of ranges, or understand reasons why they are betting, raising and what not, can't put actions on all the previous streets together to make a river decision.
Phil Ivey might be the only one of them that can actually beat the high stakes/nosebleed NLHE games online, maybe Patrik and Gus may be close. Obviously not many of them even play online but what I meant was - put them at a live table with the online gus and they'll get crushed.
They still make their money playing mixed/limit games but that's probably because those haven't gotten so popular amongst the new generation internet players.
