Happy new year everyone!

:f_love: :f_love: :f_love: :f_love:

I hope you all have a awesome 2011, lets all make sure we outshine 2010!

So a short update: I just played my last hands of the year. In total december ends on 28234 hands, without a doubt my biggest month concerning volume. 24700 of the hands were on NL50, and some hands on NL5/NL10.

I made my challenge, and I am ready for new challenges in 2011! I'll find myself some goals later, didn't do it yet.

Now I must go get ready for the new years eve celebrations! And ofc some lovely alcohol, nom nom nom

Have a nice evening with lots of fun!

xoxo vonki

January! New year, new goals!

First of all, a few changes. I have decided to quit my coachingdeal. Just didnt feel like this was the good time to go through with it, and nor me or the coach have been active enough for it to be beneficial. So I decided to drop it for now.

Second of all, I have decided to focus on MTT's before bahamas. I mean come on, it's a dream come true for me so I have better sharpen my MTT skills a bit! Don't wanna sit there afterwards and regret I didn't.

I have set up some goals for January, since I slacked so much in 2010, I think it's time to get organized again and do some hard work.

Goals January

  • Play 40 MTTSNG/On demand MTT's
  • Reread all MTT Basic articles (with notes)
  • Watch 2 MTT videos
  • Iron Man Silver status (15 days at 250 FTP)
  • Watch 5 videos
  • Play 15k CG-hands

Might not look like alot to some, but I think it's fine. I overdid it last month and it showed in my game, my wellbeing and my results. So now it's time for me to do it my way.

I also wrote down my goals in a notebook that I keep next to my PC since I honestly don't really go back and read my goals in my blog once I've written them down. Hope this will work.

I also decided not to write any goals for 2011, I just try to live my life to the fullest and do as well as I can and success and money etc will come along. :)

Lets get started!

xoxo vonki

Hey vonki, just wanted to drop by here and ask you a quick question.

I've noticed in a lot of people's blogs, including yours, that you strongly recommend the whole theory of not looking at your cashier or HEM results as it improves your game. Now i'm thinking of trying this out, but I love looking at stats and results after a session, I literally never look at my HEM or Cashier during a session and I don't have tilt problems so I don't know if not looking at my results will help my game at all. I just wanted to know if you could tell me all the benefits of doing this so I can decide whether to try and do it or not

Thanks, and good luck with you MTT games, i'm currently trying to learn how to play MTTs properly :)

Hey vonki,

I decided to work on not looking at my cashier for the new year and just came across your post. Thanks for writing it, I found it extremely helpful.

Hi Vonki, nice to see you in a KO tournament on Fulltilt. You were sitting next to PS coach Seeberger (fishisfriend on fulltilt) and you just knocked him out :P

GL in 2011!

Ahhh thanks for that vonki :) Yeah it's very helpful, I think i'll start not looking at my Cashier in between sessions and maybe just at the end of the day, to fulfill my need for looking at stats

I'd personally try watch some more videos if you can vonki. You will learn loads from them. If you got a ipad or something it would be good to watch while travelling?

ya I know toby I would too but I also have some proofreading of articles that I need to do and I'm not sure I will have time/energy for all of it. That's why I set such a low goal on the vids but it's always a aim to watch more ofc :)

Just thought i'd start out with a low amount this month to see how much time I got left over and then adjust it for next month. Rather set a goal I can reach then one I will fail =)

@ Wrigger & Jumbles: Np! I am happy it was of any use to someone. I personally feel it's a very important thing, so.. =)

@ 013paul: haha, funny I had no idea! I bet he deserved it though ;) mehehe. Thank you! GL to you too :)

I just realized how much studying does for me both motivationwise and knowledgewise.

After watching 1 episode of coaching christy, and taking notes on the episode I already feel my motivation and confidence finding its way back.

Brainless grinding to get in volume obv didnt work very well for me, it feels like I took 3 steps backwards. I will do my best to combine studying and grinding, I am quite sure that eventually I will find a nice balance.

I'm also quite sure I will watch more then 5 BSS videos this month. I would be really happy if I could watch the whole Coaching Christy series + Eightfold path. Those two videos really do alot for me, they did in the past and I'm sure they will do again. I just love balugawhale...

I do however not agree with him that players are as bad as he says on NL50 fx, I mean tables do get tougher by the days. It made me realize that I really need to improve by the day just to stay in the game, to get further I need to work for it.

So yah, bring it on :)
