Flop: ($1,50) A♥, Q♣, 9♣ (2 players)
Hero bets $1, CO raises to $2,10, Hero raises to $9,40 (All-In), CO folds, Hero gets uncalled bet back (All-In).

Final Pot: $5,70

Was the shove stupid? Should I have just re-raise it to about ~$5,75 so he call it and than ship on the turn? Would it have matter to the villian if he was (bluffing) to call a $9,40 bet or a $5,75 bet?

i think it is better here to shove then raise like 5.75, if he just calls your stack will be 3.65 with pot of 12.7. What if turn brings club? you just cant fold

I will ship it in regardless what the turn card is if I raised to $5,75.

I think you're planning to play for stacks on this flop no?
Against a fishy player I would bet bigger on this fairly drawy flop. That way the shove is not too big when he c/r and also to get more value if/when he c/c.

if he is bluffing he fold anyway, if he is drawing you are making him to play for stacks. If you are against set you are commited after you raise so, shove is fine.

Hello ragney,

Preflop: I'd even raise bigger, ~$0,90.
Postflop: And yes I'd rather bet like $1,20 and shove than make smallish raise which is even bigger than half of our stack.
