FML, just busted from the Ongame highroller final table against a 2-outer: http://weaktight.com/3197647 got 2,5k for 7th but I could really have used the 14k+ for first... FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.
Got back home late last night, my both 30'' monitors have arrived so I have a really sick grinding station at the moment. I can 40-table with these babies probably, so when I'm in the autopilot mode I'll play a ton of lower stakes at like a $20 ABI, and when I feel like crushing souls I'll play fewer tables but at higher stakes.
I'm considering flying back to France next weekend, they have a 5k€ WPT, the 2k€ France Poker Series Main event and both have high roller tournies too. If I go I'll def play the high rollers too because they are so ridic soft, will have to sell some shares though.
I'm also wondering where I could get WSOP backing this summer. I believe there are a lot of people such as Timex who back half the world for the WSOP events, and I'm probably better than most of their backees and easily run at a 100%+ ROI in the long run, but I don't know the right people so I don't know who to ask. In Finland we have an absurd tax legislation for tourneys outside europe: we have to pay 50% tax if we win, but if we are backed we don't have to pay any taxes. But then again shares are taxed again, so I can't just sell % because no one would buy them because of the 50% tax thing. But if I could find a backer with a 70/30 deal or something I could get in some serious volume, dodge the taxes and make some $$$. Oh well, at least I have 5 months to find one. But if somehow someone who knows deep-pocketed backers happens to read this, feel free to hint them about this blog.

I have been waiting 5 years for this years WSOP!
Even checked their homeage almost daily in Jan, waiting for the schedule.
I want to play about 19 events, taking in some off days to not burn out etc., including lots of mixed games especially looking forward to the 10k HORSE Championship. Fortunately dont have the tax issues but still looking for a backer or big share taker.
Btw. any quick thoughts on location to stay yet, would like to get a house with some ppl. Will be pretty focused on playing though

The 10k horse is going to be insanely tough, I doubt Phil Ivey himself could find a backer for that. I'd stick to the NLHE events and even those are pretty tough above 5k apart from the main event, although I'm gonna play the small horse event and some hi/lo as well. I played a ton of WSOP events last year and got fucked in the eye in every single one of them. It was about as bad as Deauville. I had just won 38k from the Pokerstars Baltic Festival, went straight to Vegas, played over 20 tournaments in there and didn't cash a single one. I repeat, a single one.
Anyway, you know Manig and his deep pockets, so I'm sure he'll back you ♦
I'd definitely stay in a hotel. The downsides of living in a house are the lack of transport (there are no houses near the strip) and the fact that you can't sleep or concentrate because your friends will be doing cocaine and banging prostitutes all night. The traffic in Vegas is a mess so it's gonna take ages to get to the Rio, it's just so much easier and effective to stay in a hotel at the Strip. And it's also cheaper to live in a hotel, Vegas has the best price/quality ratio of hotels in America. Last year I stayed at the Panorama Towers (the new Planet Hollywood) for 50 euros a night or something and it was awesome.
I just got back from Estonia, I was in Tallinn for a couple of days to celebrate a monthaversary with my girlfriend. I booked a room for us from the very fancy Swissotel. Of all the 100+ hotels around the world I've stayed in, Swissotel must have the best price/quality ratio. I highly recommend it to anyone going to Tallinn. It's ridiculously posh, totally five-star-worthy, and a night only costs 100 euros.
I also took her to eat to a pretty cool restaurant: www.sushicat.ee. It's a sushi place that's been renovated in manga style. I've never read a single piece of manga and don't have anything to do with japanese cartoon/comic culture and am not into that stuff in general, but I think it's a cool place to go to and surely a place you'll remember. The waitresses are also dressed in funky (and hot) manga costumes, and most importantly, the sushi is very good. It's stupidly hard to find good sushi here in the north, with Salmon being more or less the only sushi fish that doesn't have to be imported, and the quality of the fish is sloppy in a lot of the "good" restaurants too. In Sushi Cat the fish is always really fresh and the dishes are great in general.
Tomorrow I might go drinking but probably won't. It'd be smarter to spend the saturday night grinding the soft weekend tournaments, but maybe I'll be a badass and go out anyway.

I graduated from second grade in 1995, and haven't heard from my teacher since. My memories from that time are a bit blurry, but I remember him being a very nice teacher who had endless patience with us and was always trying to figure out ways to reward us for working hard. Sorry I've been a bit of a lazy blogger recently. Jesus fuck I've ran so bad recently it's not even possible... after all the brutal beats in Deauville I flew back home to get back on the online grind. Here are the results for my first week and a half:
I've been playing really well but it's just fucking impossible to win an all-in situation no matter how far I'm ahead. All in all I'm down 32k since the 100k shippament. I haven't been updating on the challenge because last week I played 0 hours because of the EPT, and last sunday I was busy because of Super Bowl, and since then I've just been so depressed at losing 4k every single day that I haven't felt like writing a word. I've got the numbers though so after a day off tomorrow (I'm going to get heaps drunk just to forget about all this shit and to get a fresh start) I'll update it and continue grinding.
I've played a lot of highrollers etc recently, funnily enough those are the only ones I have actually cashed. Everything else has gone south and the entire -18k is from $11-$109 freezeouts with few exceptions.
I've also played some live tournament satellites. I bubbled TWO EPT Copenhagen satellites worth $7k and also a $3k FSOP package... go me. So I'm not gonna go to Copenhagen. I was planning to go to Nottingham this weekend since it's a two-hour flight away to play the UKIPT Highroller. After this shit of a week I decided not to go and stay at home hopefully filling some of that hole.
Only a couple of weeks and I'm off to Thailand/Cambodia, so that'll be some time off poker. Well deserved I'd say. I'm going to set myself an unofficial goal of winning at least 10k before that.

I've played so much recently... so much. 60 MTTs a day, every day when I've been at home, which has been about 6 days a week. Results: one winning day since I got back from France. I've had one decent score:
But apart from that it's been pure hell. I'm still down over 20k since I got back from France. That's over 400 buy-ins for me. I had a sick downer last February when I lost 600 buy-ins. Six fucking hundred. Can you believe that? Unless you're a mega fish, no bankroll management rule says that you should need more than 600 buy-ins for your level when you play MTTs. Well I'm probably one of the best euro regs there are and still I'm getting these downers.
I don't know what's wrong with sharkscope recently, it's stopped tracking both Ongame and Pokerstars.fr (at least for my nicks) so I can't post a cool graph. It's almost heartbreaking. Oh well.
Today was another day at the office, another -4k. I got heads up in a Macau Millions satellite against some massive mega drooler. Like, omg he was so bad. He flatted from BB every single time when I opened the button. Then he donkbet potted every single flop. If I called, he donkbet potted every single turn. If I called, he donkbet potted every single river. POT POT POT. It was like he was a programmed monkey. He sucked out on everyone during the ft to get into the heads up against me having 2:1 chiplead, but we were over 50BBs deep. 2nd only gets the buy-in back and first gets a Macau Millions package. I don't even wanna know how much it's worth, but I can guarantee you it's a lot.
So, I grind him down slowly. He plays 100% of hands, and POT POT POTS it every time, and I call when I have showdown value and fold when I don't. Slowly but steadily he spews around his chips finally being 2:1 down. Now he changes gears. He's probably realised that he's the most godawful post-flop player there is in the whole world. So he refuses to play post-flop anymore. Instead he starts open shoving every hand. EVERY HAND. 50BB deep, no worries, he open shoves the button. I wait and wait and wait to get any hand to call him with. Finally I get AK and snap his shove. He has A9o. He hits his 9 of course. The blinds go up at the same time and I'm left with 20Bb vs his 30BB. The next hand I 3bet shove 77, he wakes up with AA and wins the Macau package. Have fun in Macau you fucking moron.
Every other tournament followed the same trend. I bubbled the Party sunday tournament to a two-outer river, lost all the coinflips in other tournaments, no matter how big of a favourite I was, I always lost. I didn't cash a single sunday major. The only deep run I had in a smaller tournament ended when I lost KK<99 getting knocked out 20th out of 1300 players from a $50 freezeout. I got like $200, thanks a lot.
But yeah enough whining. Time to update the challenge. I know I haven't updated in three weeks, I've just been so fucking frustrated with this shit that I haven't had the motivation to. Now I shall do it. I withdrew all of my online rolls because I'm just so fed up with this crap I'm going to grind lower for a bit. Right now it tears a small piece of my heart every time when I lose a flip that's costing me thousands of dollars in a $215 or whatever so I want to play stakes where I don't care at all whether I win or lose. So I'm probably gonna create a temporary schedule with an ABI of like $30 and grind it up.

As I have nothing even remotely interesting to tell (I final tabled a couple of 16k gtd's yesterday but got meh 4th and 5th for 1k-ish in both), I'll tell about my roommate.
A couple of days ago I was coaching from 9PM to 2AM. He came home with a mutual poker player friend at 11PM. They both had laptops and were planning grinding midstakes cash together. However I was coaching, which meant they couldn't talk so there won't be noise in the background. As a result they decided to divert to the kitchen to play chinese poker until I was finished.
When I finished early at 1AM, I asked the what the score was. My roommate was down a little over 2k€. Now they decided to start grinding. They had two laptops and an extra monitor. They are both sick multitablers and I think they fired up about 30 tables of NL 1/2 across different sites. They had a sick run and lost like 15-20 buy-ins immediately. They became a bit tilted and decided to raise the stakes. Soon they were 20-tabling NL 2/4.
Hours went by, and at 4AM or so they were stuck almost 10k. They decided to play even higher, so they ended up in a few NL 10/20 tables with some 5/10 and 3/6 going too. I decided to rail a bit. Virtually the first two hands I saw were 10/20 hands where they had top two pair and got two-outed on the turn to lose a 4k pot.
Finally they were down over 20k euros and decided to call it quits. Our mutual friend was really tilted and told my roommate that they'd have to play some more chinese poker. This way at least one of them would get unstuck. I was too tired to rail so I went to sleep, I think it was 7AM at this time. When I woke up at 5PM my roommate was still up, but our friend had left.
I asked how the chinese poker ended. "We started at 20 euros per point", my friend said (to those who don't know chinese poker, that means you approximately win or lose maybe 50-100 euros per hand). "Then things got a bit out of hand".
"How out of hand?", I asked. "Did you lose a lot?"
"Yes. I had to cover the entire 20k."
"Oh man, that's sick."
"And, I also owe him some money now."
It's nice to live with another degen! The highest stakes chinese poker I've witnessed live was 6k euros a point. We were in a bar during EPT Prague where Ziigmund played against a coalition formed by 4 Finnish grinders. I was pretty busto at the time so I was just railing. They had a bonus of I think 100 points for a royal and 50 points for a straight flush, so you can imagine how much money you can win/lose during a hand (it's not very hard to score a royal in chinese). One of my friends who was playing against Ziig had 95% of his net worth in cash in a safe in his hotel room, about 60k euros if I remember correctly. After two hours, he was down so much he just gave the key to his safe to Ziig and said that he's busto. Ziig was pretty happy and treated us to a fun night in a burlesque night club.
