Today I played interesting hand with you and would like to know your opinion.

You was SB. On the flop I realised I know your SN from here, so I knew you are good thinking player. I played less than 1000 hands of Rush NL25, and had maybe 3 hands with you. That brought me to idea, you would treat me as a random sunday fish if I cbet small and you will find it weak and try to take that pot down. My thoughts were probably correct because you had $5.05 left and insta folded, but I would really like to know what did you have. And if my thought process is completely mistaken, please explain me what was going on :f_biggrin:

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($25)
BB ($31.92)
UTG ($27.03)
UTG+1 ($20)
CO ($48.55)
Hero ($44.44)

Dealt to Hero A♦ 9♠

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.75, SB calls $0.65, fold

FLOP ($1.75) 6♥ 6♦ 9♣

SB checks, Hero bets $0.75, SB raises to $2.30, Hero calls $1.55

TURN ($6.35) 6♥ 6♦ 9♣ 9♦

SB bets $4.50, Hero calls $4.50

RIVER ($15.35) 6♥ 6♦ 9♣ 9♦ T♥

SB bets $12.40, Hero raises to $24.80, SB folds

Hero wins $38.15

Well, I had 44, called for set value, small card flop, as you say, you bet small, so I tried to take it away. When the 9 paired I decided I'd try to rep a 9. Sadly, I was trying to rep the hand you had, so poop! You have the distinction of being on the right end of my biggest losing hand of the night. I was BE after 1K hands.

It doesn't always go so badly wrong. :f_biggrin:

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($44.20)
BB ($62.16)
UTG ($32.48)
MP ($17.20)
jbpatzer (CO) ($73.80)
Button ($33.44)

Preflop: jbpatzer is CO with 8♣, 9♣
1 fold, MP bets $0.50, jbpatzer calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB calls $0.40, 1 fold

Flop: ($1.75) J♦, 6♣, 5♦ (3 players)
SB checks, MP bets $0.50, jbpatzer calls $0.50, 1 fold

Turn: ($2.75) 5♣ (2 players)
MP bets $1, jbpatzer raises to $3, MP calls $2

River: ($8.75) 3♥ (2 players)
MP bets $1.50, jbpatzer raises to $7, 1 fold

Total pot: $11.75 | Rake: $0.58

Results:
jbpatzer didn't show 8♣, 9♣ (nothing).
Outcome: jbpatzer won $11.17

Back from my conference. Went OK. Nice to see lots of people I haven't seen for a while. Good news: Internet in my room, so I was able to play. Bad news: 6BI downswing :f_mad: . I looked at the hands I posted above, and obviously I've been making some spewy bluffs with no equity, so I've stopped that. But I seem to have stopped running well. I did a bit of data mining and I seem to be having some difficulty with pots where I've 3bet. I'm 3betting 10%, which is probably a bit too much, but even so, I've had to put this graph, of my results in hands this week where I 3bet preflop, into a spoiler, because you need to sit down and relax before you see it. It's a bit of a shocker.

Spoiler

Volume, volume, volume!

Finished my session. -2BI. KK<AK, and KK<AA AI pre. I'm going to be back on NL10 soon if I can't catch a little mouthful of run good soon.

EDIT: And before you ask, no I couldn't face watching the Spurs game tonight.

Put it this way, Gomes wouldn't even fit in at Arsenal the howler he made tonight!

Woo hoo! A small profit, and not massively below EV! I count this as a significant improvement. :f_biggrin:

A couple of dodgy river calls less and I would be much happier though. I need to move my thought processes a little bit beyond 'I don't believe you flopped the nut flush. My top two pair is good.' :f_mad:

Last chess match of the season. It was 2-2 with me left to finish, and I managed to surprise myself by grinding out a rather nice win in the endgame. Surprising because my endgame technique is not the best.

I managed to avoid the obviously crappy a2, and play Ba2, 51. Nd4 Bc4, 52. Nc2 a2, 53. Kd2 Kf3. My king gets to gobble up the king side pawns while my bishop controls everything else, and it's all over. _cool:

I will be avoiding chess in favour of poker at least until the Autumn (unless THEShade wants to coach me some more ofc).

Well, jb, no way are you going to believe me, but over the past few days I read all 98 pages of the blog. Friggin' hilarious, and congratulations on finally getting to NL25 and finding the fold button! I shall obv. be following the blog now. Gratz on winning the chess game, too, though it's all way over my head, I'm a barely-above-average player in terms of rating (which, naturally, means I suck, because most people suck at Chess. And Poker for that matter.)

You are a brave man with far too much time on your hands. Glad you liked it though.

So, last day at work before going off on holiday. We're going to stay in a Scottish lighthouse for a week (yes, mrsjb books the holidays). I'm picturing this

but I think it's probably going to be more like this

Either way, I'm slightly worried about the proximity of me, my kids and a tall building. Let's hope the weather's not too bad.

Another worrying thing is that mrsjb says we should try to get going early tomorrow morning, but I need to play for about three minutes to get the Take 2 bonus. I foresee some friction over this, folowed by six hours in the car with the kids. Oh shit..........

Little known fact, Take 2 promotions cause more divorces and homicides than alcohol and cheating combined.

By the way, is the micro cash game study group you talked about still open? I play NL5 FR, hopefully NL10 by the end of the month. (Taking a shot if I maintain my bankroll for the next few days and get my 25 from Take 2.)

I can believe it.

Just had a meeting with one of my PhD students, who told me that he was talking to the other students after my conference talk this week, and that the general opinion was that it was amazing that I could drink so much over the course of two days and still give a good talk that early in the morning. Made my day! :f_love:

And finally, before I go away, here's how I've run since the FBI moved in (most of roll now withdrawn).

It's a funny old game. Over and out until next weekend.

So are you still playing, jb? This legal thing will probably be confined to the US, you should be right. Of course, I don't know if the UK prohibits gambling in a similar fashion to the US...

He's been arrested for collusion with fraudsters (lol, originally mistyped fraudstars - should've left it), and is currently undergoing full body cavity search by MI5. :f_eek:

He's currently going through an identity crisis as he realises he can no longer be the rakeback pro that his children have grown to love, but must instead be a bonus whore at Ipoker :f_biggrin:
