Ok, firstly apologies for not having a hand history - I'm on a different computer.

Tournament - FTOPS $216 6max, 1300 players, 144 get paid, currently 202 left. Blinds are currently 600/1200 We are currently around 165th with 25k

MP1 Openign around 40% of pots for 2400 (min raise) has raise/folded the button to a big blind with 8bbs. Losing OPR player and playing way above average bi. Has 34k stack

C/O Terrible player, 4b jammed vs me previously with j9 and got there vs my AA. Will see me as aggro, has 28k stack.

Is this a good spot to jam?

If it is a good spot what should we be jamming?

If it isn't a good spot what should we be jamming?

Can we ever overcall any hands.

If we assume that MP1 calls with 1010/AK+ does 22=88? If not why not?

I play/coach HU/6max cash so just wanted to check this out.

Thanks
Patrick.

What exactly happened? MP1 minraised and CO called? Which position are we?
Which style did the CO play, was he really fishy or do you just call him terrible because he 4bet jammed J9 vs you?

We are on the button, c/o was playing far too many hands. To give an indication to his style, previously a tight guy with 18bbs opened UTG and he peeled from the c/o with 45s and 28bbs.

imo is best to post HH cos your posts r very confusing

as i understand you have 2 mega lagy bad players (preflop) in MP and CO (calling stations also imo, and MP open CO calls if i get this right) and you r asking for range to jam?

if this assumption r right with your reads on MP/CO (i dont know blinds stacks/agresio etc)

i as a default 3bet get it in with top of mine value range(something like TT+,AQ+, if i have reads that they r agro spewing monkeys i'll 3bet get it in 88/AJs+)

ill fold jaming hands with blockers Ax/Kx type of hands

jam 99-66, AJs-ATs, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, AQo-ATo, KTo+, QTo+, JTo

call with 22-55 A2s-A5s maybe some SC too like 67s+ and maybe all Axs, K9s

and i wont be balanced vs those kind of players cos we have position on them and when we hit they'll pay us off when we over call -> of course this (overcaling) all depends of players in blinds(their stack sizes/tendencies) if they are passive too u can over call if they r agro you should modified your ranges and probly fold all of that calling range i suggest and sometimes over call with QQ+/AK to trap them

i dont like to be jaming there light with reads you got and your stack cos if they r bad as you describe them they might call you very light (hand might look strong in their eyes) and btw if they r bad they r dead money any way so your stack is very valuable in that point whenb you got pos on them

imo 22 is not = 88 cos if they r bad they will call your shoves with for ex 33+,ATs+,AJ+, KQs and you obv dont want to go with 22 vs that range

if you r sure that they will call you tight then i prefer tbh shoving Ax/Kx hands then 22-66

Having one laggy raiser and one laggy caller is obviously optimal for shoving light. Especially when they are not calling overly loose as bonebt stated.

In a (very) good spot I would push about 22+, A2s+, ATo+, K9s+, Q9s+, J9s+, T9s, 98s, KJ+, QJ. I guess I wouldn't call at all, because push is so profitable.
bonebt is not valueing Pocket Pairs and Suited Hands enough.

If it isn't a good spot (one player tight and/or one not folding much), than I would mainly push for value. (maybe add some pocket pairs which have good equity and aren't good enough to call.
So about 77+, AJ+, ATs.
In this spot we could overcall hands like KQ, KJs, ATs, maybe AJ.

Assuming one calls with TT+, AK, of course 22 = 88 (despite about 1.5% for double paired boards). But most players should call somewhere between 66-99 here as well. Nonentheless pocket pairs have good equity vs most calling ranges.

Cool thanks.

I had 97s and jammed and later thought it may be a little bit too wide.

If the conditions are optimal, it could still be good. The spot depends first of all on folequity. More foldequity is much more important than having 3-4% more equity if called.

why u think we shouldnt call with 22-55? if villains are weak lagtards and we have position on them is to weak to fold pp in that spot but imo to wild to shove if they r calling loose(we r loosing our edge etc with shoving and hoping that they will fold or we will win flip, and we have too much valuable stack vs spewtards + positions on them to shove wide in that spot imo)

i said with hero reads is not goods to push wide here (smaller pockets 22-55 cos imo villains will call wide =>with biger pp)

if they r calling tt+ak of corse 22=88 in value but i prefer to push Ax/Kx hands if thats their calling range cos those hands have blockers on their calling range and when we have 22-88 and push some1 will call us biger % of time then when we push Ax/Kx type of hand imo
