It's about time to start a blog. I like to interact with the comunity and read quite a few blogs here. Personal stuff: I'm a 24 years old from Brazil and I have a decent 8h/day J-O-B. I have a 6 year relationship with a girl from a diferent city (200km away). Pre-Poker history: In my past job we started playing a weird form of poker once a week, just for fun (it was like $1 buy in). A silly game: pretty much texas holdem, but with antes, no blinds and no pre-flop betting round. After all, you make your hand on the flop, right? :f_eek: We did make one game with pre-flop betting round. I was kicking ass, but the boss wasn't and didn't like it so we switched back. Then in my new job, about 18 months ago, we startet playing home games, still just for fun (but now real NLHE) and I started playing on pokerstars with playmoney. Poker was a fun gambling thing for me, just that. I had no idea one could make serious money from poker long term. So one of my friends introduced me do PS.com and I was a bit skeptical, but as it was free money I gave it a try, got my 50 bucks on FT. Poker history: So I starded playing $1 SnGs, the Daily Dollar and other MTTs, some 2/5 CG, pretty much a bit of everything in NLHE. Was building my bankroll slowly and started focusing on MTTs. Then BOOM: I nail an early double for 1.4k. That was pretty awesome. So I kept on playing MTTs with no real results, losing a little bit of my new BR. So I started to look for something where I could make some money every month. I knew playing like 8 MTTs a day wouldn't do much. CG weren't realy my thing, I got bored very quickly. Then, after reading <3's blog and how good he was doing I decided to go with SnGs. SnGs history: So I started with the $6.5 turbos. I was rolled for the $12, but decided to learn a bit first. Ran pretty good. So I moved up to the $12 and lost a bit, but was confident on my game and kept grinding, tryin new layouts. Got SnG Wiz, witch helped a lot. Learned what a downswing is, whined a lot about it, including on the forums. But eventualy, it passed. So another heater came and I was sitting with about $2k, but wasn't confident to move up yet. ATM I liked playing tiled, but that was hard on a 15' laptop screen, so I cashed out $600 to buy a 22' monitor (yea, Brazil, the thing costed me like $500). So I was realy confident I could beat the $12 by a good margin, kept grinding until I got a 2.5k BR to move up. The $24s hitted me in da face :f_cry:. No big deal standart variance, running a good amount < EV. So I got back at the $12 to regain confidence (and BR), and after the next heater, moved up again. This time the $24s were nice to me and I moved quickly to something close to 3K BR. I was concernd with my volume since it was very hard to table select the $24s. So I decided to take a shot and mix up some $36s to fill my set. I figured if my avg BI was inside my 100 BI BRM it would be ok. I could always move down (I hope I would). But the $36s loved me and I started with a heater. Now: So now here I am, with a confortable BR to the $24/$36. I am a low volume player. It's hard to get 500 games in a month. I still play the live game with my coworkers every monday (we have a ranking system, going for a medal this semester &spades;_cool: ). I see my gf every weekend: no poker. So basicly a play 3 days a week. Sometimes I play Sundays, sometimes I manage to play on fridays, but that's it. Enouth here. Goals, graphs, doubts and other stuff to come.

@mancikaa We don't have casinos in Brazil.
Poker is a gray area here. Cash games are usually not alowed. With tournaments, it's not certain.
Here in Florianopolis (my city) public autorities ask for one tournament to remove rebuys.
One week latter the LAPT was held here, and it had side events with rebuys...

Obv. there are underground cash games around, as nobody cares much about the law down here.

As for online poker, I'll see how things go for the rest of the month on FT. If things are bad I might consider stars, party, maybe mixing sites. Realy don't know yet.

Games look realy realy bad. Have to work on Sharkscope to see who are the new guys. Maybe regs from higher stakes filling up games.
Decided to buy $26 tickets and play some MTTs. Min cashed in both I played. Ran pretty nice.

Played a lot of stuff for fun... Stud, PLO, Rush... Just made points for iron man and that`s it. No platinium status here this month...

So one of my goals this year was to make a cash out, around $3k.
As games are just so bad, the idea is gaining strength:
> Cash out 3k
> Move to party and clear the deposit bonus
> If don't get used to the software, move to Pokerstars and clear the bonus

Going to think about it over easter.

Def very +ev (if beers don't count)

Unless the luckbox 2nd place doesn't make the 8th ITM in 12 games I should be safe in 1st position in our ranking system.

I wish hit sets instead of flushes this time, fish are scared about flushes and sometimes fold :f_biggrin:

Ran like shit. Maybe tilted some $ away in one 2nd barrel vs Fit/Fold guy. Maybe results oriented, was planing on 3rd barreling a lot of rivers.
Made 0 value bets after the flop. Fit or fold guys were fitting every flop.

Managed to win a flip QQ > AK to get the starting stack back. Survived until push/fold, KQ resteal found AJ and couldn't improve.

Pretty standart actually, just boring. Did better than major rivals in the rank, so it's ok.
It realy hurts my mind in game when things don't go right with so many people donating chips...

Hey santos, I'm also playing the 22s and 33s (I'm at PartyPoker though).

I found your poker history/career very similar to mine. Shall we have a sweat session one of these days? I'm in europe but I'm sure we'll be able to arrange something.

Im currentely on my worst downswing and running 50bi's below EV...so, keep positive!!!

50 bis swings? seems like this is happening to me once in two weeks. Anyway if you think the things are bad you are wrong. The downswing can get even worse than it is.

How is trafic at Party? How do you play there? Sets?

I'm considering moving out of FT. Not sure yet.

We could do some sweat sessions. I probably will need to make an extra efort to clear a bonus the next 3 weeks, so not much time. But deff. I need some confidence boost :f_biggrin:

trafic on Party is good for the lower buy-ins (up to $11).
There are not many people playing the normal 22s and 33s sngs.
You can open 2 tables at those stakes easilly, but if you want to fire up a full set it takes a lot longer. I used to play in sets but because of the low traffic I just keep opening tables now.

Also, I have now been playing the turbos that have a few more guys but are reg infested. There a lot of higher stakes regs who play the 55s, and 110s that end up on the 22s and 33s because there isnt much trafic.

I think the best is to have a sweat session and you'll check the water there!!
I'm also trying to clear a bonus from party but will be up for a sweat whenever you want!

PS. On FT how many fish (say ppl with VPIP above 40) do you usually find per table. On Party, there are usually 2 per table.

I'll try a memory guess about an averege table:

1-2 >40% VPIP (average 1.8 or something)
1-3 35%/5% (average > 2)
1-2 tightish guys (<16% vpip) that don't know ICM
2-3 regs

It's a wild guess, heheh

I insta join a game almost filled and with only 2 regs. I join games with 3 regs depending on how good they are and on how many tables I have open. I heavily avoid games with > 3 regs.

The 22s turbo at party are often reg infested ♠_mad:

Today for example, in most tables there were 2 spewy fish (around 40/2) and then all the other players were TAGs around 7/5 - 18/12.

Most of these regs don't know ICM in detail and miss lots of spots where they can shove ATC for example. However, they are decent and having 4 or these guys at the table seriously reduces my ROI.

The problem at Party is that there aren't many games running so u can't really table select properly. Once you clear your bonus we'll have a sweat session and then you'll see if it will be good to move to Party.

Well, no worries about the bonus. I found out fulltilt gave me $50. That's the minimum I rake when I play... Gee thanks.
Whatever... seems like games are okish now, so I'll probably stay. Soulread by FT again, obv.

This week priority: Iron man.

Maybe we could find a place for a sweat session then. What's your skype?
I can play from around 17:00 up to 22:30 ET.

Table seletion is much harder these days. Games are taking way longer to load and regs get unpatient and we see a lot of reg infested tables.
I managed to find some very nice tables. Fish pool seems to be more fishy.

Right now I'm on a break cause tables are bad... volume will suck for a while...

Finished my incredible bonus. Yay.

Got 3 $5 tickets to play CG so I had some fun with PLO Rush. Sucks you can't combine tickets... Cool that whatever you have on the table that is above the ticket value goes to your $ acount.
Got bored in PLO and switched to 3 tables rush NL 10.

Got about 30 bucks in cash before busting my tickets :f_biggrin:

Had 900 Iron Points and decided to play some higher stakes Rush NL to make 1k points quick. Bad idea. Bad idea. Bad idea. Did I mention bad idea?
Crazy how people 3bet in NL 100 rush.
So yeah.. dumped 80 bucks to you regs... -$12 EV

I mean, it's not like a was dumping $, it's probably -ev, but not that much.

So I took a look at HEM and figured I lost a total of ~$500 playing CG in my carrer :f_eek:
That was over 50k hands.
I paid $2k in rake so it's close to BE with rakeback. Still pretty bad.

Anyways, very bad month in SnGs so far. ROI sucks, ev ROI also sucks.

I feel I'm off my A game a lot of the time, just haven't figured it out why... Maybe I'm just results oriented...
