I totally disagree with this.

If you are playing micros you should be focusing on improving and making optimal decisions. I know I can't turn off autopilot while listening to music!

She's also commented after slowplayed trips cracked my aces that I must be terribad because "nobody loses with 2 aces, do they?", not the ideal phrase to hear immediately after losing to a slowplayed hand. :f_cry:

LOL that sounds about right.

I've boiled and eaten about five before I realized you typed "carbs," not "crabs."

never NEVER ever drink coffee during or before a session. that instantly doomswitches me....

- I usually play 6 tournaments at once, but when I drink coffee i am able to play 12!
- I get involved in ...very mediocre hands already during the early phase
- very strange bluffbets, i don't think i have to comment at this one
- pushing range in late phase of ~120%, independend of cards

==> drink beer instead

However this may sound funny, its a great strategy when you are on the final stretch. Coffee is ok when you need to stay awake, but it will beat the shit out of your concentration. Thus, if you catch yourself playing stupid hands, coffee will only make you play those stupid hands faster.

Beer on the other hand (now I dont mean whole keg, but 0,33 max) will make you slow and more tired (when you are already slow and tired, no big deal), but it will allow to focus your mind and filter out distractions (like, that you are slow and tired). Unfortunately, it works only for a final hour or so, the you drop dead or have to use matches to support your eyelids

Of course they have aura of doom around them! Think about all those times when you were summoned "because that damn toaster/computer/car wont work", only to restart it yourselves and it miraculously worked. They are not stupid - but fine appliances just feel it and refuse to work. (They dont have cocks to be dragged around by). Even sailors knew that - and didnt allow women on the deck. And the witch hunts? Dont get brainwashed by some "gender studies" I_know_it_all, dudes, pay some respect to your ancestors, they have built cathedrals and ruled empires - they definitely had some skills.

I mean, I have made a choice to actually like girls, despite all of this, but Im tellin ya ...

Chicks are doomswitched IRL

Cz people comments on beer: +EV

this may sound stupid, but if i find myself losing concentration at key times or im say on four bubbles and a heads up and really need to concentrate - i pretend i am making a coaching vidoe. so i explain everything to myself as im doing it and why. then when I say something really stupid (like yes thats an easy call on the bublle with a6 when the tight big stack raises), i can catch myself before i actually do it. try it it works

I totally agree with this especially if you're playing 4+ tables at one time. Quick tip here: make sure it's not heavy metal; that screws my game every time.
Here's one I've personally learned the hard way:

NEVER EVER EVER SLOW PLAY BULLETS!!!

Maybe it's just me but 9/10 times when I slow play bullets I get busted.
PS: I would say never go all-in vs Russians as well for my Romanian compatriots :)(even with those bullets they tend to beat the c*** out of the Romanians one way or another)
Cheers

Don't play with friends in the room

Really good music helps a lot. I never play without it

I hope people really believe in this, I play 24 tables and sometimes take me a while to get around to acting.

In all seriousness though, DON'T THINK TIMING CAN GIVE ANY TELLS. They may just be multi-tabling other than lost in a hand or thinking about something.

Yeah probably not so relevant for cash table where everyone multitables but deep in a tournament, when the players are mostly down to focussing on the one table you can definitely get information.

I didn't used to believe in them but they've made me a few chips for sure, and of course they only add a bit to your had reading.

For example the guy insta check insta calls on a drawy board flop and turn, when the draw hit on the river he times down for ages then checks. You should get suspicious cos if he has a hand he wants to get to SD cheap - no time needed to think just c/c, if he's slowplaying from the start he'd have taken about the same time each street.

Ah okay agree with that didn't think of it from MTT point of view being a CG player :)
