i'm not sure with STT. for me, it seems that there are more swings in them.

although i think i could do well with them because they're not much different from MTTs, just a little adjustment.

should i try with them, is it advisable to start at $3 or $4? are knockouts much softer or just stick with the regular ones?

based from my experience, swings and coinflips occur more often on mtts.. try the lowest stakes, or the 100bi rule. i personally play 6max non turbo. deposited $24 early may, because i wanted to try what you've been doing, micro stakes MTTs. i figured, roi is too low so i tried STTs and i've been doing well, now im up $420. :) and i think, profiting on STTs is easier compared to MTTs(just wait for players to get elimenated then $$, rinse repeat.) what i do is, i just try to keep a healthy chip stack and wait for the heads up.

This is the poker life. Sometimes you win, most times you lose. But you have to be patient until that big payday comes.

Bankroll: $296

So what am I gonna do with this tiny bankroll??? Suggestion anyone? cash games???

Sleep time. zZzZzzzz.....

Drop down a limit...Grind the 2.2$ 180 man's again.

wow, congratz!!!!

yeah, coinflips have been so gloomy against me, and yeah, that shows on my run.

alright, i'll try shooting some STTs and probably rebuild my bankroll from there.

actually, i'm playing 1.50 90 man knockout, and variance is just really getting to me. i played some big buy-ins from time to time, $11 to $22, usually on Sundays and some SCOOPs to try my luck but coinflips are just mad at me.

in fact, i'm playing $1.50 90 man knockout right now. before, I could constantly profit with them. right now, i've been constantly unprofiting!! sigh

the month of May is just a bad luck month for me. hope not to jinx myself but i have no choice but to continue playing and hope my luck will turn around and not to those fishes.

just a sample of the hands i usually get lately:

Sure u will make it through. It's very hard to keep a strong attitude like you. Hat's off man.
Regarding the stt's u can play many more in a day compared to the current 90 mans u r playing. But the risk reward ratio is low. If u win a 90 man1.5$ u get what like 40 odd dollars right?? But u have to win too many to get the same reward with the STT's. Depends on you tho, if u can play like 100 STT's per day u shld be alright.

PS: 1st 13 days of May went well for me, but last 5 days i am also crying like you lol

in $1.50 90 man, you get $26 for a 1st prize win, plus there are those knockout bounties too that are quite a lot when they add up.

I can play 40 MTTs in a day, so STTs would probably be more if I decide to venture on them. hehe

yeah, my attitude is what's keep me going. i just keep on reminding myself that i'm still playing well and that i would hit those juicy cashes soon. :f_biggrin:

i regard the poker world as similar to the real world. in the real world, we also compete but notice that the top 20% of the people holds 80% of the money. it's the same in the poker world. only 20% of the people really thinks it through to study the game and play well that's why 80% of the money in the long run goes also to these good players.

so let's continue to be good players and win win win!!!!!!!!! :f_biggrin:

Today's Run: $55 Profit

oh finally!! i'm so glad to see a green bolded figure on my post again!!!! wafu!!!

still played MTTs as usual but this time, my flips were a lot more nicer to me.

but what disappoints me today is this - why do i usually end up as the final table bubble boy!!!!!! huhuhuhu. this has happened several times already and has robbed me with a juicy pay day.

nevertheless, i'm glad with the profit (finally!) and hope this continues on.

chow!!! :f_biggrin:

Just some thoughts....

I want poker to be a long term stable source of income for me in the future. And I think a good way to do this is become Supernova Elite and be a rakeback grinder.

So here's some calculations I made using PokerStars VPP/FPP calculator and stuffs...

NL 100 - 40 hrs/week - 24 tables - 40,000 VPP per month - around 500,000 VPP in a year
Accumulated rakeback in a year - $12,500 (VIP milestones) + $16,000 (VIP Reaward bonuses)
$28,500 profit per year excluding winnings + Supernova Status

Bankroll needed - 100 buy-ins - $10,000

NL200 - 40hrs/week - 24 tables - 70,000 VPP per month - 850,000 VPP in a year
Accumulated rakeback in a year - $24,000 + $32,000 + $20,000 (if can grind to Supernova Elite)
$56,000 + $20,000 (if can Supernova Elite) + WCOOP Main Event Entry

Bankroll needed - 100 buy-ins - $20,000

NL400 - 40hrs/week - 24 tables - 100,000 VPP per month - 1,200,000 VPP in a year
Accumulated rakeback in a year - $53,000 + $40,000
$93,000 + WCOOP Main Event Entry + Super Nova Elite Status

Bankroll needed - 100 buy-ins - $40,000

So for instance I grind the MTTs till I hit a $10,000 bankroll, I could then focus on grinding and in a year if I can maintain the hours per week and the volume, I could net in $28,500!!! That's over 1,000,000 pesos income a year for a Filipino guy like me and that would be totally awesome!! And that is excluding the possible winnings accumulated.

So what's your thoughts on this guys? Achievable??

Another thing. What if I just find a way to borrow $10,000. The return on investment is awesome! hahaha :f_biggrin:

Calculations are ok, but you need to input one more variable in that calculation-can you beat/brake even those stakes. 24tabling those limits needs hard work, strong mindset, knowledge, healthy food, sleep...

I wish you all the best, but feel obligated to mention some facts, facts that neither of us see realistically while we dream our dreams.

Your calculated RB is wrong, it's bigger :)

Assuming that you use all your FPPs to buy 4,000$ Bonuses:

500,000 VPPs in a year: 6x4,000$ Bonuses(earn 50k more FPPs and you buy another 4,000$ bonus) + 1,200$ (VIP Stellars) + 11,600$ (Milestones) = 36,800$ (or 40,800$ if you get those 50k more FPPs :) ) 44,9% rakeback

850,000 VPPs: 11x4,000$ Bonuses(earn 25k more FPPs and you buy another 4,000$ bonus) + 1,200$ (VIP Stellars) + 23,200$ (Milestones) = 68,400$ ( or 72,400$) 46,6% rakeback

1,200,000 VPPs: 18x4,000$ Bonuses + 1,200$ (VIP Stellars) + 43,200$ (Milestones) + 5,200$ (WCOOP Main Event Ticket) = 121,600$ 55,7% rakeback

It requires sick dedication, if you want to achieve this playing cash, start learning now and try to climb higher than NL400, so that you achieve it easier but you still make great amount of money as winnings, because then you won't be rb grinder, SNE will come on itself if you play higher limits.

If you want to achieve it playing sngs/mt sngs/mtts, learn all formats, and get ready for some sick 10k$ swings(or worse). Also you will need shitloads of volume (unless your grinding 100$ AND higher stakes 6/9/18mans) Also, you need to learn how to play 40+ tables at a same time and at least achieving b/e results.

I'm not trying discourage you or something, but you need to know that before you start ;)

Here's a graph of mt sngs grinder, who achieved SNE last year:

Dreams are one of the free things in this world so I'm just taking advantage of it. hahaha. but the successful people are those that work hard to make their dreams a reality so I know I still have a lot to work on and I'm pretty sure i'll make myself sweat and fill a swimming pool to achieve it. Good luck to us all! :f_biggrin:

I figured, I just made a rough estimate. Thanks for the even bigger values that gives me more motivation to try it in the future! hahaha :f_biggrin:

What I know is that Sick dedication is what I have. hahaha

I don't think I can handle 10l$ swings yet, basically because I only have a $300 bankroll as of now. LOL

I play up to 20 tables at a time though of micro MTTs. Is that a good start? LOL

Thanks for the advises bro! :f_biggrin:

And by the way, that is one totally damn sick graph. hahahaha!!

Yes, 20tables is a good start :)

Agreed, graph is quite sick(esp period between 25,000th and 50,000th games), but in the end he still made a great amount of money!!!

You'll have to forget about all the money you put at the tables when you'll be going for it(assuming you're doing it as rb grinder). Bankroll will be just a tool to make money(ie. bonuses). Still, it's definitely worth if you're breakeven or better(even slightly losing is fine). You would collect enough FPPs for 4,000$ every 2-3 weeks, easy living

Money is one thing I'm always concerned of. Well, I think all of us do. But the way to play A-Game in poker is not to think too much, or better yet not think of it at all, about the money you'll win or lose - and just play the best decision at hand.

This is one thing I have to improve my mindset on and I have an idea how to start with it --- I won't post my daily profits here from now on. I must remove myself of the money mindset in poker but instead have the make-the-best-decision mindset.

And who knows, I might soon achieve that thing called "easy living". :f_biggrin:

Made a profit today. Oops, I just said I won't be concerned with profits anymore so I won't be posting how much anymore. From now on, I'll just be concerned whether I played the game with my best - and I hope to continue with this mindset and maitain it.

But overall, there were several, and I mean several spots that I were ahead on the flop, get all-in and these donks always hits their cards on the turn or river. that's poker folks!

By the way, just wanna share some things off poker....

It was my mom and dad's wedding anniversary yesterday and since I'm earning now, I was happy to treat them a bit.

Also, I'm now a fan of Aamir Khan! hahaha. do you guys know him? He is an Indian actor and I just love his movies!!! Watch them especially the one titled, "3 Idiots" hahahaha! :f_biggrin:

Chow chow chow!!!!! :f_biggrin:
