Watch me fight some AI baddies in VR Boxing in my latest post

lost another 11k at Wynn and 3k at GL playing NL 50/100. I was up by abt 1k at one point in time, then some fucker c/r c/shove 30k into me with pure air (he showed a 9) on a T23s5 board (i had AQ of diamonds). This took away 15k from my stack and I was semi-tilted for about 10-20min but I tried my best to control myself. Made a silly float with pure air on QQXsJsJ and bet the turn with T9 but I gave up on the river. Turns out other guy was trapping with A7s flushdraw on the turn.

My image was pretty bad and I was super card dead the entire day. I don't think there was a single pot in which I hit TPTK+ at Wynn. Thus I was never able to 3barrel for value at any point in time and all the money I made was from pulling off crazy bluffs. I got so sick of Wynn, the game selection is the best but the atmosphere sucks. No diversity of players, almost everyone was from china and it gets rather boring.

I headed back to GL at 2130 hrs and tried to win some money. I actually ran decent at GL. I picked up QQ 3 times and AK 4 times, along with a few pocketpairs. Only trouble is that I only managed to get 3 streets of value once (with Ks on TXXmJsX board where the Japanese guy felt my continuous aggression a lot and decided to pay off). I also lost a flip QQ vs AK to a 600+ stack pretty early in the session. And I was quite lucky that the chinese woman on my right took out part of his stack a few hands ago when she won AA vs KK vs another overpair (probably QQ).

I'll try to write most of the significant hands on my macau blog with some analysis. I'm just super tired and quite upset cos I wasted 13 hours losing money and damaging my health. I have never breathed in smoke into my lungs for 13 hours in a row and it tilted me a little. Stupid idiots do not have the courtesy to walk away from the table to light a cigarette.

Grand Lisboa's atmosphere was significantly better. players were more interesting, more diversity - we have aussies, pinoys, koerans, japanese, mongolians. I have yet to see a black/indian/malay/hispanic though, and I saw plenty of them in Vegas. My GL table had 2 japs, 1 korean, 2-3 whites, and 2-3 chinese.In fact there were a couple of singaporeans. all of them were there at GL to play the Macau Cup.

i think i might go stay in the other side of the island in the second half of my stay here. my friend says the venetian has a better atmosphere + fishier games and playing there on the weekend would be cool. tomorrow is also myfriend's free day since he plays day 1b of the main event. we mgiht do some exploration and maybe I'll just grind 6h+ instead of 12h.

live poker sucks. smoky, slow, boring. i tilted and spazzed a lot today so im going to be stuck for the trip for sure. made a crazy 25k bluff because I stopped thinking about the hand, just got super frustrated at some fucker who was super aggro and 3 bet like 3-4 times within 1h+, got snapped by his QQ on KQJrXX when I 3bet him w T6s, seriously wtf is wrong with me??? guy on my right commented "you have a big heart". fuck the lion heart, im just an idiot for doing this time and again. always doing this type of shit to wreck my bankroll. The moment i stop asking myself villain's calling and folding range on every street, I tend to make all the senseless bluffs. this is tilt in its biggest form for me.

i also made an expensive blunder today. thought I had Q7s when I actually had Q9s. 733s56s board, I check F bet T c/c R and the other guy says "I have an Ace". I should have let him muck then I would have won the 8k pot but I flipped my Q9s over and everyone was like WTF? one of the stupid reasons why i hate live, u cant see ur cards all the time and u might forget.

now im stuck close to 50k. if it was online i would just avoid looking at my cashier and try not to think about it. but when u actualy need to count ur money on a daily basis to knwo how u can take shots, everything changes. and definitely thinking about the losses make me feel bad and play bad. i actually ran decent today. hit sets 4 times but had no value at all, always so eager to make huge flop bets really quickly annd people always weren't strong enoguh to continue. and for the first time at GL, my table had 6 white guys at one point in time. some guy on my left asked me if i was an online player. aapparently he plays at stars too and he's from norway, says he 24 tables last year at PS but moved to Macau to play live poker. Taiwanese guy on my left was very aggro, he squeezed quite a lot but later in the session he just felt tired and played really nitty. the two fat caucasians were quite irritating, they kept making stupid comments about my constant raises and occasionally they would pull off some move on me.

also there were 2 japanese guys (or rather one japanese speaking white guy and the other real jap guy from yesterday). they were talking about the hands in japanese a lot and since I learnt japanese for one year in 2009, I was eavesdropping on them a little. they were using all the japanese numbers to describe their cards after each hand. Like in one hand, japanese speakign white guy said he had "Ichi Juu" which means One-Ten (AT) on JTXr board, and other white guy called my flop bet as well. turn was checked around and I bet the river with KJ, and that guy folded while the other guy paid me off.

last point: I got bluffed by another crazy mofo chinese dude again at the Wynn. he oR with KQ on TXXs board (I had AQ w FD) and he c/r F bet T bet 12k R with pure air OOP and I had to fold since FD was busted. seriously wtf is wrong with all those idiots??? making all those 0 equity bluffs for no good reason (unless they had some live tell on me). i really hope I'm not giving any physical tells away to those guys, i keep getting exploited. So I lost 8k just like this to him. this was one of the reasons why i tilted later on at GL - i got so annoyed that i never got paid off with my sets, and that people kept bluffing me so I decided to barrel 3 times myself. completely losing my objectivity and focus on the game, not thinking about each situation separately is costing me a ton of money.

overall: 5h at Wynn, up 6000, 4.5h at GL, down 25k

duno wat my plan should be for the next two months. planning some monetary goals would be a recipe for disaster. but i also don't know how to make sure i play my best and maximise my hourly. today's failure highlights my greatest flaw as a poker player - it's not that i'm stupid enough to handle the analysis and logic involved, or that i lack the drive to succeed. it's my lack of self-control.

and FTP finally processed my neteller, but stupid merge has not processed my withdrawal yet. i don't know where i'm going to stay tomorrow. GL is 200+ USD per night and I'm definitely not going to be staying here esp when I'm broke from the losses. Spas are cheap but i dont think I want to live in one. I checked the room rates at Best Western but it's full for Sat/Sun. hope i can find a good hotel for 100 USD per night.

Do you need/have to play, or can you take a short break. It seems to me from your writing (I'm soooo sharp) that you have some serious issues that will only cost you even mopre money is you don't get them fixed.
I have no doubt at all you know how to fix anything wrong with your play, but surely this must be a priority? Ability isn't the issue here obviously, neither is playing your A game, it's the 'other' stuff.
Sorry , I really have no idea of the psychilogical stuff - or the physical stuff come to that - at your level, so I feel a little embarrassed even commenting.
I really love the honesty you good guys project about your game by the way, hence I love this blog; small consolation I agree.

Hey man, have you thought about actually hiring a mindset coach? It really seems like something you seriously need to work on (dont we all) and if you have trouble actually taking general things said by mindset-gurus to heart, maybe you need someone who tries to really help just you yourself

I look in here a lot although I don't post that much, but something that stands out is that it's a lot about.. money money money losing money, winning money.. money money. You seem to have great work ethics and a superstrong will to succeed, but maybe you just need to like.. chillax a bit and start thinking about how you can avoid whatever mindset issues you have and feel more content about everything

+ its not an ego game and its not about money in the first place (only beforehand for br considerations so u know what games u can play in and after many sessions and some sample to evaluate your winrate).

gl in getting your mindset on track.

it would take me pages probably to talk about your true problem. but to sum it up, imo your biggest leak is u lack patience. u want to win hands NOW, u want to make money NOW and u want to play well NOW and everything.

When you are in a hurry, walk slowly.

doing things right doesnt mean u gonna have immediate results u would like to have. u need patience for the numbers to equal out over the long run. u need to understand that!

be happy about good decisions, not about winning money. be upset about not making best decsion u could, not about losing money!

why actually focusing on money? its just some numbers or some paper. focus on intellectually challenging your opponents on the poker tables

true true, im impatient, which is why i'll never succeed at live poker. i dont mind being quiet at the table online cos my AA will come once an hour if i 4table. i played 4 tables of 3/6 5/10 today for 1.5h. narrowly escaped certain death when i shipped AKvKK but at least poker gods are being kind to me today. i know i earned back yesterday's losses but i dont want to look, i need to stop thinking about the money.

yesterday as I emo in the lift on my way back to the room, i told my fren i had to play 200 hours. i will stick to my initial plan of 5-6 hours a day with 1h analysis + 1h mixed games. and i think i was probably overestimating my own skill at mixed games again. u could say im overly optimistic about such stuff. I should probably start doing more physical activities as well, cooping myself up in the house to grind has been quite boring and unhealthy.

today my fren is playing main event. it's 1600 USD buyin and i bought 20% of his action. let's hope he wins today.

New Goal for June: Become super tough with very precise and well-controlled aggression, and make at least 2-3 guys FEAR me at my stakes. i want to forget about the money. when people sit on my right, i want them to tighten up like a rock and crumble. i have always enjoyed the competitive aspect of poker but money has been always at the back of my mind all the time.

Today's plan: Its 1140 now and I'm goign to check out in an hour. maybe I'll visit the Venetian and take some pictures there. And when I'm back in Singapore I might add some pics directly here and link them from my FB page. We checked out at 1330 and my friend actually deposited 3000 HKD but those scammers only returned 2000, claiming that they only accepted 1000 or 2000 deposits and that it was not in the record. Either my friend screwed up and recalled the deposit amount wrongly, or the receptionist is a cheating bitch. We then took a cab from our side of the island (can't remember what it's called) to Taipa which is in the midle of Macau and is closer to the airport. The Cab costs 39 HKD (5 USD). After checking our stuff into Best Western (stupid internet site said it had free wireless internet but it doesnt), we went out immediately. My friend headed back to GL for the tourney but he dropped me off at the Venetian first.

So I went to play at the Venetian today. I played really well, so far it was the best day for me. I did not make any bad play as far as I could remember. Ended the session down 9400 in 3 hours at NL 25/50, because I lost KK vs AQ on KJTXX board where the dumb slutty looking HK girl could easily be stacking off with KJ/KT/JT/JJ/TT when she called the flop and shoved the turn. 6000 gone from this hand. I also lost 77 vs 68s on a K75s98 board and 8000 goes down the drain after that. Villain bets out 800 into 1600 with his OESFD in a 4way pot and c/raised the turn 5000 over my 2200 bet. I thought he was already allin so I flip open my cards on the river (but he had 2000+ left) so I did call anyway, knowing i was probably screwed by the straight. Other than that I hit sets another 2 times but did not really get paid off. Like I had 22 on a A2XA board and I potted the turn in a 3way pot, being very confident that at least one of them would have an Ace but they both folded.

The smoke was worse today, at one point all 6 of them were lighting cigarettes. I also explored some of the Venetian and took a few pictures sneakily. There's this Venice-themed shopping area inside, with the river + bridge + boat combo. Exactly the same as the Venetian in Vegas. It also has the Cirque Du Soile (don't remember the spelling) which costs 388 HKD (50 USD). I might want to watch it tomorrow since I really don't feel like gambling anymore.

After I was done with that, I went to the City of Dreams/Hard Rock to explore the place. They have another show there, but I can't remember the name. I ate MacDonalds again and wandered around the Casino, looking for the poker room but apparently it was closed today. The woman kept directing me back to the Baccarat tables.

I left the place at 1800 in a cab which costs 17.50 HKD. Went back to my room to discover that there was no internet. If I had known earlier I would have continued to play poker at the Venetian. So I went to explore the area nearby and walked past many shops. I even entered the park and watched 2 men play Chinese Chess for a few minutes. They each had an Elephant, a Cannon and a horse, and a foot soldier and it was stalemate after a couple of moves. Some little girl was trying to watch the game but all the old men were blocking her view and she whined to her father/uncle/some random man.

I was still looking for an Internet Cafe but couldn't find any so I came back to Best Western at 1910. So here I am in the lobby, paying 15 HKD/30 min typin this out. I'm trying to contact my friend so I can go visit his place but there's no skype here so I'll probably go back to my room to watch some TV, then I'll check out tmr.

ok im back, it's 2030 now and I'm extremely bored. Sitting in the lobby. The internet is 150 HKD per 24 hours but luckily the receptionist told me that i could try connecting to some free connection so I randomly chose some "Hotel Taipa" and it worked out fine. My friend isn't back yet which is a good sign, since I bought 20% of his action. hope he ships it and I can recover all my losses like a pro.

I actually went to visit my friend (A German who married a Chinese and is now staying in Zhu Hai) and the apartment is directly opposite my hotel. but the lift lobby guy told me that a group of 4 of them, including a foreigner just left the apartment recently. i guess that fits their description and I went back.

i think i have almost recovered all my losses, mostly through online. Ran super hot at 5/10 shallow, chopping AJ v AQ and winning AQ v AK. I also made 15k yesterday at 25/50, despite losing top set to straight again.

Stop mixed games, start PLO - I must be ready for this. 1 video per day on PLO, ill stop watching NL videos unless there are nice ones from samo/giggy.
during this trip when I stayed in the APA apartment, I saw decent/mediocre players making good money from Ipoker playing PLO 1/2, 2/4 so I'm going there for sure. No reason why I should be inferior to bumhunters who only play during fishy hours. and get coaching from TT
Maybe get coaching from YourDoomPoker for shallow games. Probably 2.5 hours is enough to get a general feel and I'll learn it on my own after that.

Since i have so many plans to start crushing so many game types I would definitely need 8+ hours per day on my game, and continue with at least 6 h from Aug onwards in Netherlands.

It's 1700 now and I've just ended my session. Going to do a little bit of analysis and then go to the Venetian with my remaining 20k to take a shot.

If you're going to talk about results so much, could you at least include some graphs? would be fun!

Maybe you should focus on the game that you think could bring you the most money and not divide your time between various games at various sites at various levels. Once you crush that your money problems would probably have disappeared already.

1) Villain had lost the past 2 hands to me, with him calling an allin vs my AA with some crap JX hand (had 4BB left and autoreloaded). I suspect he's on tilt and also I'm getting 46% pot odds while my KQs is having about 47-49% equity vs a 20-30% range.
