We all know that calling an all in with a 100-bb stack when you have no made hand and two outs to a draw is stupid. But popular culture, especially Hollywood movies, glorify the ONE-outer and even the half-outer. Nearly every movie ever made is about some person who overcomes literally impossible odds in order to triumph when chances were 0.0001% that he would even survive. As an example look at the depiction of NLHE in the Daniel Craig version of _Casino Royale_, as well as nearly all poker shown on TV.
I guess the point is that we know why inexperienced players play like fish. They're taught by popular culture that fish = hero.
