interesting choice of music, I'm really liking their version of losing my religion! Think I'll try playing with it after the weekend ♦
- Half way through first month of lockdown!
As I have failed to update on sundays which was one of my goals I feel it is time for a proper update.
As you know, I'm not running good at all. This is by no means going to be a whinepost, but I still think I need to talk a bit about it to prove my points. I am off to a very rough start in my serious attempt. Which I think is a good thing.
If I can start off with proving I can survive when things are going really bad, and still get in volume and play well, then there is no need to worry about it in the future either.
So let's get the giraffe over with first.
As shown in the graph, the trend this month has been one devistation session after another.
What I can learn from it is, that I can control my emotions and my tilt. I'm not saying it's yet perfect, I do still tilt slightly sometimes. I will feel a weebit down after some sessions, but most of the time I feel good.
As explained in earlier posts, I don't feel devistatedl. I feel fine. I see more than ever, that this is just a normal part of a pokerplayers life. It's gonna happen again, and again, and again. And I have accepted this fact.
I think the main difference between now and earlier, is that my game still stays good. I may not be playing A+ all the time, but I do play A- farly often and I don't make the typical "bad" adjustments in my game that I used to when I was tilting that caused me to bleed money left and right.
I don't doubt the obvious good plays. I don't doubt I can still win playing the way I do, I don't doubt much at all tbh. And it all feels so much easier and rational now.
The only negative part is that my motivation has been fading just a bit lately, but I'm sure that will change soon too. NL50 is still awaiting around the corner, and as soon as things turn around I will be taking shots again in no-time.
If anybody is up for regular handreviewing, that would be awesome. I think this is where I fail the most. I know I have a ton to improve and adjust and I am sure most of you feel the same way. So let's team up and get it on with! ![]()
To the stars and beyond!
xoxo
Wow, what a giraffe. But really positive how you handle it. Did you read the mindset? Pretty good imo. Also to just read it, without really wanting to study. ![]()
I will be glad to team up with you if you're also intrested ofc. ♦
I'll send you a PM with skype.
Cheers
Emma
sooo love this song, it makes me so energetic. Turn volume up loud -> dance around
I still run like crap, I still feel awesome and life is still rocking!
Very busy with life atm... it takes so much time to pack up all your stuff and move from one place to another... sigh.
I was a bit hungover yesterday and didnt quite feel I could play A-game. But when I spoke to my coach, he told me "it's better you play NL10 than watch Desperate housewifes or something".
I suppose that's true, so I decided yesterday to have a session of NL10. Went really good lol, it was like stealing candy from children really. I made some regulars misadjust to me and the fish... well they're fish. Pretty much level 0 fish just throwing their money at me ♦
So after about 1800 hands, I ended up 600bb. About 39€. Very pleased to have such a good session, and I probably will play some more NL10 every now and then. It's def good for confidence if nothing else. ![]()
Celebrating midsummer today in Sweden. Basically we dress up and dance around a pole decorated with flowers, pretending to be frogs. Among other things.
What else do we do? Oh right. Eat lots of food and drink lots and lots of alcohol ofc ♦
Weather is pretty shitty so I'll skip the frog-dance and just enjoy some nice food and drinks with friends.
Very cute video, definitely do the flog dance! It's awesome.
I like your coaches logic, it's what I do too if i'm watching a video, just usually 2 tables or something. Maybe the internet has ruined us, doing one thing at once just isn't enough anymore. How has NL20 or 25 been treating you recently? Hopefully your ev is coming flooding back.
I think he meant more like better play NL10 than watch TV/series. I tend to pay full attention to videos and make notes etc whenever I watch one. ![]()
As for NL20/NL25 it's still the same story. I have a session every now and then when things hold up but most of the time I keep getting into the kind of spots where fish end up in a 4b pot vs me and donkshove pot on flops like 552 with A9 and end up hitting vs my KK and stuff.
There really isn't much to do but to laugh at it and know that some day, sometime, that'll be me. ♠_evil: Errr, running good/sucking out obv, not donkshipping Ace high in a 4b pot btw ♦
I try my best to keep up with my EV-line upwards, but despite being unable to I've at least started to climb the right direction slowly now.
*touching wood*
Most importantly I still play good and keep learning and will be break evenish with rakeback and ready to be taking shots again in July.
Still looking very much forward to it and feel as motivated and good as ever
After not being online for a couple of days being busy moving out my appartement and cleaning it (to answer Pleno's question: I've moved in with my family over the summer to get to spend some time with them before I move abroad late summertime) I read about FTP today.
I am happy I made the decision to cash out and switch sites after black friday. So sick. My heart goes out to all of you who lost huge chunks or even your whole bankrolls
I dont know how I would manage that at all.
All seems so fucked up. I really hope everything works out and that you guys get your money back asap.
I was busy organizing and getting settled in my room all day today, and was quite tired when I had finally set up everything, and I thought to myself "maybe I'll just watch a bit of TV and rest...".
But then I remembered what my coach told me. "Better play NL10 than watch series". So I had a go at the tables, played some NL10 and ran quite okay. Managed to win 32€ in 1k hands. Also had a straighflush, weee ![]()
I think I will keep playing NL10 whenever feeling tired but still should be playing some. I just feel more careless. Not as in I spew around like an idiot, but I just don't play scared at all. I am able to 3b more without being scared of it failing or playing in 3b pots, I try the occasional 3barrelbluffs which I normally wouldnt dare to do and so on. Def a good experience, and if I was to make mistakes in those pots then well, better I do them there than on NL50 in the near future. ![]()
Life is pretty good atm

TT gave me almost the same advice, i.e. 'Four mistakes at NL25 = One mistake at NL100, so make as many mistakes as you like at NL25'. So NL10 = ten mistakes, and since I'm playing NL2 atm that's, errr, lots of mistakes!
boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen!

I've noticed something important.
Playing poker followed by studying poker = very little motivation to study.
Studying first followed by playing poker = very much motivation to play.
That being said, I need to reorganize my routine a bit.
yeh studying first and then playing is i think much better, cuz u can put in practise all u learned right away
plus studying before hand it warms up your brain, if you go straight into playing then you're mind isn't ready for the first 5-15 mins
