some of the Big games are indeed rly nice, even instructional. The likes of Stern, Mercier, Galfond and the guy which alw protects his mouth when betting big, make it rly special..

Helmuth lol ... i just cant get 1 thing: how on earth is he still getting so deep in live MTTs..?!like now on WSOP some events. In cg he is obv a fish sui generis.

In the micros, I'm not sure if it is necessary to balance, simply due to the player pool size. The play where you talk about 4bet shoving small PP will work against random villains, but against regulars they would pick up on this and be able to make that call a bit lighter. So basically what I'm saying, if your not balancing your range, then you need to play more standard against regs and just exploit the hell out of fish.

I don't know if that made sense... lol. Well hopefully you'll understand what I'm saying.

Yeah I agree, but NL100 is not the micros anymore and the regpool on my site is not that big either, so balancing does make sense against some people. I was just wondering why I havent seen that move(4Bet shove pocket pairs) on higher limits.

About Phil Hellmuth- When I was starting w poker I thought he was really good and just had a mindset problem, but now.. I dont understand why he wants to play in those games, he has to know he doesnt have an edge over those guys

Its obv...

I really don´t think he thinks that way. I remember once in poker after dark or something Durrrr made a prob bet with someone at the table (don´t remember the person) and they asked Hellmuth if he really thinks he is the best NL player in the world and he snap-answered "Yes!" Dwan lost btw

Also there is still Phil Hellmuth story by Phil ivey :)

(sry don´t know how to insert video instead of link)

It´s still very funny though, seeing some shows, knowing whats gonna happen if the "right" river comes....

ok.. so how abt this? u would want to try to do some dual vid(s) on NL100-200?

btw: when u get to be a winner on NL400 i invite to my apartment for a month or so, to help u work on ur game as much as u need so that u rise form 400 to 1k asap. I think u would do it alone too, but i would believe i can expedite that.

(and hence secure my prime NL1k+ analysis partner for the future _evil: )

i hope u start shooting 200 before the end of the month. gl. (some plrs will suddenly seem to look competent - but later u ll learn that that's mostly experience and u can totally crush them when u get to understand them..

Sure, Id love to. Just contact me on skype :)

btw: you sir are the sickest motivator ever!Cant wait to get to 400NL. Atm I need to grind up 5 more BI on NL100 to start w NL200, so hopefully that happens in the next few days.

OK after some time a poker update: atm totally crushing nl100(EV winrate is 13bb/100 this month), need 4 more BIs to start w NL200. Also have to make myself put in more volume, 60k hands/month should be the minimum(this month I played only 20k so far) so Im a little dissapointed with that.
Some hands from todays session:

BTN: $126.84
SB: $100.00
Hero (BB): $113.07
UTG: $119.34
MP: $45.12
CO: $100.00

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BB with 5  4
UTG raises to $3, 1 fold, CO calls $3, 2 folds, Hero calls $2

Flop: ($9.50) 2  J  3 :spade: (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $6, CO raises to $13, Hero calls $13, UTG folds

Turn: ($41.50) T :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

River: ($41.50) Q :spade: (2 players)
Hero bets $33, CO folds

Both villain are weak TAGs(i think they are loosing actually), I used my whole timebank on the flop(didnt know what to do )-I feel that when I ship Im only getting called by sets-my equity is not the greatest against that. I decided to flat(I look maybe even stronger when I do this), maybe its better to ship or 3bet I just dont know. After he checks the turn I think he never has a set and my percieved range is incredibly strong so I bomb the river expecting huge FE.

Turn: ($23.00) Q :spade: (2 players)

River: ($49.50) 7 :diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $113.92, Hero calls $76.70 all in

Villain is 20/16 TAG, Have been abusing him a ton-at this point he wasnt folding to any of my 3bets, so I wanted to 3bet some broadway cards to make TPs rather than some suited junk. I think I have 0 FE on a flop cbet and often the best hand so I check; turn plan was to c/c and then call/fold river depending on what he does. Since he jams, I think this is a snapcall, hes not repping anything... The result was bad bc he had AJ also but at least he got owned.

River: ($52.24) 9 :diamond: (2 players)

Villain is a weak regular, he 3bets vs UTG-I thought he was super polarised here(he wasnt :P) so I just flat and play postflop(I dont think I have a dynamic with him to 4bet/Call and also hes 18/14 so pretty damn tight). His flop check looks like SD value or AK/AQ-I think I can get the most value by just c/c-firstly I look weak when I check twice so he might bet turn bet river with AK/AQ and im also maximizing value against his bluffs(loosing a bit of value vs his AJ type hands but I thought he wasnt 3b vs utg with that).

You have 14 outs against a set so on the flop you are actually ahead (about 57%) so it's an easy shove I think

not really...

Equity Win Tie
MP2 40.26% 40.26% 0.00% 5h4h
MP3 59.74% 59.74% 0.00% JJ, 33-22

Im not saying its bad to shove, it should be +EV with the deady money anyway. Maybe I missplayed it.

When I think about it now It has to be either shove or call, I dont like 3b small since he can shove over with hands like Ah3h and I dont want that.

isn't mercier pretty bad at cash? how good do you think he is?

and you mean Scott 'Mastrblastr' Seiver, right? he seems really good

lots of good players on that show

yea, Seiver is extremely good..

@Mercier: idk, i think he was at least decent /better than avrg + not afraid to stick it in.

Barry Greenstein is also very good in big pots usually, also the big hand in HSP when he got blown of AA by Durrr.. he was pretty damn srsly thinking abt it when i think most ppl on table would just snapfold there. Interesting how he always gives up easily in smaller tho.. a strange plr (rather good overall tho)

Todays nl200 shot, got totally crushed... back to nl100 for a few more days.

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is MP with 9 :diamond: A :diamond:
1 fold, Hero raises to $6, CO calls $6, BTN calls $6, SB calls $5, BB calls $4

Flop: ($30.00) 9  K :spade: A :spade: (5 players)

Hero bets $52, CO folds, BTN raises to $126.22, Hero calls $74.22

River: ($342.44) 7 :diamond: (2 players)

BTN is a rather agro fish, I think I have the nuts here(AK,AA,KK they 3bet pre and 99 is just 1 combo), so probably standart stackoff, BTN shows AK-I kinda didnt put that in his range, not sure if I can fold here anyway since he might do this with a draw, A3 or some random Ax which he thinks is the nuts.

Villain is a nit(18/14), cbet flop 61, his turn raise here seems a lot like BS bc I expect him to cbet his gutshot type hands. I think the river is a fold though, I called bc of great odds and bc of the chance of him having QT or JT. Not sure how to play this-I think folding on the turn is superweak, but the river is kind of a fml spot-I think he is semibluff raising the turn pretty often with a picked up club draw and even that got there so the river should be probably a fold?

BB is a fish, BTN seems like a rather nitty regular. I cbet the flop pretty big bc of all of those draws, not sure if I like my turn bet and betsize. River I think is a cback, shove would be superthin. I am really in doubt of the way I played this hand, have to think about it more. I kinda overrep my hand on the turn, but at the same time I cant really check/call, maybe the turn should be a check/fold?

Summary:
I got slapped in the face pretty hard, definitely have to work a lot harder on my game. I dont feel too bad about the whole shot though-I did the best I could and its a pretty good experience anyway.
Will be playing on nl100 until I build my roll back up and take a 2nd shot at it.

Almost completely recovered from my nl200 shot, will give it a next try very soon.
Did a deep analysis of 3 regulars on my limits-2 of them have been kinda owning me and the third one was so damn wierd I had to take a closer look at wtf hes doing. Reviewed a ton of hands everyone of them played and wrote 6 pages of notes :) Might be a bit useless doing this for a nl100/nl200 regular, but just wanted to try it out if I can make some good general assumptions and get some solid reads on those guys.

Played some WoW today, my arena partner played like god so it was a lot of fun :) Might try out SC2 soon, a lot of people saying its an awesome game.

Anyway, played 2 shorter sessions today, some hands :

Cassava Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 1354918

MP: $64.55
CO: $108.28
BTN: $59.44
SB: $108.80
Hero (BB): $116.20
UTG: $100.00

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BB with 2 :diamond: 2 :spade:
UTG raises to $4.50, MP calls $4.50, 3 folds, Hero calls $3.50

Flop: ($14.00) K  4 :club: 2 :club: (3 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $10.50, MP folds, Hero calls $10.50

Turn: ($35.00) 3 :club: (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks

River: ($35.00) 5 :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks

Preflop easy call bc MP is a huge fish, no reason to do anything else. On the flop I c/r this most of the time, but decided to flat here-to balance and also utg had a pretty high barrel frequency so I thought I could maybe get more $ by playing it slow(I look like 55-TT,not many Kx in my overcalling range, so I expect him to barrel a lot). Board runs out very bad-I dont think I can vbet so I go for a c/f on the river.

Hero (BTN): $176.31
SB: $157.25

CO: $102.75

Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with K :diamond: T :diamond:
1 fold, Hero raises to $3, SB raises to $11, 1 fold, Hero calls $8

Flop: ($23.00) A :diamond: 5  9  (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $13, SB calls $13

Turn: ($49.00) J :club: (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $29, SB folds

SB is a weaker regular, the defend preflop is a bit marginal, but I think its ok bc I have seen him 3Bet low SC and 1gappers so I will be dominating some of his draws and I can outplay him IP.Postflop- I just cant stop myself from triple barreling this, taking into consideration the deeper stacks I think its a perfect spot and I also have some backdoor stuff.

During the last few sessions I tried to rly concentrate on gameflow and exploit some tendencies of players-right after some1 wins/loses big pots they react in some way other than usual ,then I tried things like 3beting the guy 3 times in a row and see how he reacts-does he snap 4bet? does he snapcall? does he keep folding?

Just to brag, my last 10k hands on nl100-I think I played very focused in every session the last 2 weeks(no playing tired, thinking about other stuff). Still a TON of spots I could play far better(=more agressive), especially in multiway pots where my percieved range is pretty strong. +Im wondering if my NSDW will be positive at any point of my career maybe they should invent just a new game where you can only raise or fold

Ultranumb! :f_love:

+looking forward to girahs video for PS, that guy is a beast

Lets jsut play live tomorow, take a little break w reviewing and studying and come back and take it down like a pros
