The download from stars doesn't work, it's because the name of the file that gets download doesn't have .exe at the end of it, just rename it and it'll work.
i did everything.

Hi
I have edited the posts to comply with our T&C
here is the tutorial:
Thank you for contacting us.
Unfortunately, our latest update presented some technical
difficulties. To correct this issue please update the PokerStars software by
simply reinstalling the software from our website. Before you uninstall PokerStars however. You may wish to make a
copy of "user.ini" (your preferences), "notes.xml" and
"notes.user.xml" (where 'user' is your user ID) from the
PokerStars software as they will be removed when you uninstall
the software. To do this simply open the PokerStars software (if
possible) and click on "Help" -> "Open My Settings Folder" and
locate those three files and copy them to a safe temporary
location. If you cannot open the software you will need to
manually navigate to the settings folder to locate those files. For Windows XP and older (C:\Program Files\PokerStars\):
1. Double click "My Computer" on your desktop or start menu
2. Double click "C:" drive to view your hard drive
3. Double click "Program Files" folder
4. Scroll down and double click on "PokerStars" (or
PokerStars.NET)
5. Locate "user.ini" or "user", "notes.xml" and "notes.user.xml"
6. Copy the files to a safe temporary location (the desktop is a
good choice)For Windows Vista and Windows 7
(C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\PokerStars\):1. Click Start
2. Type the following or copy/paste into the Search and press
Enter:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\PokerStars (or PokerStars.NET)
3. Locate "user.ini" or "user", "notes.xml" and "notes.user.xml"
4. Copy the files to a safe temporary location (the desktop is a
good choice)For Mac OSX
Notes are located in:
/Users/[UserName]/Library/Application Support/PokerStars/
/Users/[UserName]/Library/Application Support/PokerStars.net/User.ini is located in:
/Users/[UserName]/Library/Preferences/
It is saved as com.pokerstars.user.ini
It is saved as com.pokerstars.net.user.iniOnce you have made a copy of those files, uninstall PokerStars
from your computer. In Windows XP, go to Control Panel -> Add and Remove Programs and
remove all PokerStars items. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, go to Control Panel -> Programs
-> Uninstall a Program. Once there, uninstall all PokerStars
items. In Mac OSX uninstall the software by dragging it into the Trash.
When the program is fully uninstalled please restart your
computer. When the computer has restarted, download and install a
fresh copy of the software from the following link.COM Windows version:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/
.COM Mac version:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/
Be sure to restore the two saved files once reinstalled. To do
this, please go to the 'Help' menu and then back to 'Open My
Settings Folder', then close PokerStars and copy the files back
into the folder. If you are asked to overwrite any files accept.
You should then have no additional problems.

Thazar

Or if it is good time on comp, you can just go few days in past open PS and then set back to today, it worked for me an one more guy
Hey guys,
I recently got this fix:
Hello,
Thank you for writing and our apologies for the inconvenience and technical
difficulties you are experiencing. We have recently updated our software and in order for the latest version to
work on your system, you will need to do one of two things:1) The easiest way to correct this issue is by setting your computer's date
back one day (to June 23) using the "Time Settings" on the bottom right
panel of your computer. You can then run your PokerStars software as normal,
as you will receive our latest update. You can then reset your computer's
time back to normal. To change your system time:
1) Double-click on the time display (normally bottom right-hand corner if
you are using a PC and top right corner if you are using a Mac).
2) Select the 23rd of June from the Calendar and confirm the change.
3) Run your PokerStars software as usual - the software should now update
itself correctly.
4) It is advisable that you return to your computer's time settings and
reset the date to the correct one.2) Alternatively, you can install a fresh copy of PokerStars, overwriting
the old one (make sure you install the PokerStars client in the same folder
as the current one, to ensure your settings and notes are preserved). You
will then need to visit our site and download the new version of the client. To check where PokerStars is installed, right click on the icon you normally
use to launch PokerStars and select properties.Download and install a fresh copy of the software from the following link.
COM Windows version:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/
.COM Mac version:
http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/
If you are asked to overwrite any files accept. You should then have no
additional problems.Good luck at the tables and if there is anything else we can do for you,
please do not hesitate to contact us.Kind regards,
Karch K
