His smallish 4-bet appeared like an invitation for me to call. Then the A comes, now even AK beats me. So I gave up the hand. Was that the right choice? Villain is 31/12 with AF 1.3.

Hello feketepok,

Rather ship it preflop against his stack than Call and play postflop.

Would it make a difference if Villain had $5.00 in his stack? Would you just call then? Why?

Nah, I would still prefer to rather just go broke if I want to continue at all. Ain't worth to let him hit anything like an A or K and otherwise if he doesn't hit he wont pay either.
