What? like 95% of holland can speak english. You can just talk english to people and they won't be surprised or anything.. I've been approached several times already by tourists talking english to me in the past year

But overall i can see why you would feel isolated easily living in holland.. especially in a big city like amsterdam everyone just minds their own damn business. and there really isn't much of a community spirit in holland at all. (not sure how to explain this.. but if you lived in latin country like Dominican Republic you'd probably understand whati mean).

A lot speak German too, but the little things was the problem. At the cashier in the supermarket I didn't understand questions, small stuff like that.

@ MIchael, yes I know this feeling thougH i think Holland is abit better qua communication than Denmark (where I am currently at). Also you had to tell me you were living in Holland so I could Help you out ♦

Hello all, I am thinking about moving to Canary Islands. Specifically to Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Anyone know if there is any casino/poker room where one can play NL hold'em cash games on regular basis? thank u very much for any answer.

South of Andalucia especially near to Gibraltar is the best place I have ever lived in. You have everything what you need - cost of living is very low and if you work in Gibraltar and have a decent job even better.

For the moment I have not found another place to live which is in Europe and has a certain security (I do not talk about getting free gov money - dont really care about it) you have capable and affordable doctors which you may not find in 3rd world countries. You do not have much violence over here which is carried out on civilians. There might ne violence but it only concerns people implicated in criminal activities.

In an overall view friendly, sunny, cheap and on top of that because of Gibraltar you can even develop your professional career - personally I do not need more ♦

Come down here if you want to get out of the stinking every day cold and boring live of the big cities...
