I have some experience on this subject so will try to input a little bit.
There is a well known forum who work alongisde a well known poker site and they have the system where if you post x posts you get y vip points, then you can take out the vip points for cash/gifts.
The sites traffic grew increasingly but the quality of traffic deteriated immensely. People were posting random +1's all over. Also people who have no relevent expertise or knwoledge of a subject would start posting random drival and people would stop trusting the site for necessary feedback.
At the moment I think we have a good traffic AND a good amount of quality, although introducing something like this would have some positive impacts I think on the whole it would be -ev.

But what about monthly forum contests?
Forum could have somthink like a person promotion system... I mean giving points from player to player. (limited amount). I would give promotion points for people like you and other admins for activity, good articles and interesting post's

Cool, so something like. Each memnber has 5 tokens per month which they can give to a member as a kind of thank you for support. The tokens which are received can then be added up and retrieved in some other format?

there's occasionally fun community promotions around. like last easter i think there was something to do with finding eggs, and we have funny "put a caption on the picture" contest, and lots of other stuff i cant think of atm with prizes from cash to merchandise to status upgrades ♦
i think it's a bad idea to give points for forum posts... i like it the way it is, it is really the best poker forum that i know, also articles and everything, don't ruin it with some stupid bonus points...: )

I think this thread is awesome. I was going to make a similar one the other day and asking you guys to suggest some games/forum promotions which we could start doing in the near future. (a few of them already in the pipeline for the next months
Unfortunately, we won't be able to credit you guys with StrategyPoints as it's one of the most important indicator for PokerStrategy.com and would result in false reports.
However, we can figure out something else to reward members and have something brilliant to look forward to.
Point system and tokens are not bad idea imo but how to follow them up? Our forum technically not able to support this unless we do it manually which would be an overhead.
So what are the most favorite forum promotions/activities for you guys?
