thanks for the disambiguation

I HATE when people write "R.I.P" instead of "R.I.P."

R.I.P. is an abbreviation for requiescat in pace ("may he rest in peace", often, though somewhat inaccurately, translated as rest in peace), a short epitaph or idiom used to express wishes of eternal rest and peace for a person who has died (and therefore seen frequently on gravestones).

Some people write R.I.P because they think it looks better than R.I.P.

It has been years since I put full stops after letters in abbreviations.

On headstones, the full stops are often omitted as well.

I don't think I've ever seen a headstone with "R.I.P" only "RIP" and "R.I.P."

People who commit terrorism and mass murder in their own country and claim it to be in the name of nationalism. That really bugs me.

If I'd have said Jehovas Witnesses you'd have been ok with it :)

My purpose wasn't to troll this very serious thread. All outspoken religious people grind my gears, and in that category it's fair to say they're #1 right now.
