Just played another session of NL200. I played 2 tables and won a bit more than 2 BI which is nice.

Bankroll: 3163 Euro

On the homefront I had my 20th Birthday Party last night. It was a pretty chilled party with a tonne of drinks, music a bit of dancing from yours truly, and some poker action that saw me lose my ten dollar buy in in 2 hands. I don't even remember what happened lol.

Had a terrible hangover this morning/arvo when I woke up and I'm still pretty tired. I'm just about to go geta movie for the night. I'm not sure what I'm gonna get...

I might play 1 table while I'm watching the movie.

I made the call with 89 preflop because the guy is a resonably loose player and if I hit a decent hand I should be able to get paid off. We have a bit of history in which both of us have gone for some pretty big bluffs and light call downs so this also influenced my decision.

So I flop trips. He C-bets here which is nice. My options here are call or raise. I decide to raise. But the critical part here is my raise sizing. My raise is only 2.3 times his bet. It looks weak. So then he shoves over the top and I'm thinking he's probably got an overpair.

This is an interesting hand. He must have put me on complete air when I riased big on the flop. So he goes for a min reraise. I just decide to ship and if he has an overpair he will probs call, if he has a worse flush drawe he may also call given our history. So I feel this is a nice spot.

I could have called his reraise, but if i miss the turn, all of a sudden the board is kinda ugly.

Hey there. I have disappeared for a couple of days because it was my birthday two days ago. So I was out celebrating.

I haven't played much poker, but I think I might have finally hit my downswing. I'm so glad it finally got here I was getting a bit nervous about when it was going to rear it's filthy head.

But he is here now and like the neighbours annoying dog I must learn to get along with him. With his temperamental swings and general bad behaviour I must learn to love this dog.

So imma hit teh felt now with my good friend, the downswing, and crush souls.

thanks man. Um yeah I don't HEM atm, I'll probs get it soon though and then we can see how good I ran.

I don't like looking at EV though cos its depressing either way. If your running above EV then u think ur a luckbox and if ur running below EV it feels like ur getting sucked out on all the time. So id rather not look at it. lol.

So yesterday was part of my biggest swing in poker. Downswing obv. My bankroll was at 3100 a couple of days ago. It hit a low point yesterday of 2200. lol. It was so sick. However, I did feel pretty baller being able to lose 1K and still play pretty close to my A-game. I'm sure there was some tilt in there. There has to be when you get crushed.

Then last night I played another session at won about 2 BI so that puts me up to 2600. It was scary stuff when I was running bad, but I have faith in my bankroll management.

I just need a little bit of rungood so I can step up for an NL400 shot.

The problem with moving up the stakes is that on my little Euro site there is hardly any action at NL400. So that means I'm gonna have to move somewhere once I get there (assuming I do, positivity FTW). I don't wanna go to stars because I don't play high volume so the rakeback will be shit.

SO I NEED TO KNOW A ROOM THAT HAS ~30% RAKEBACK AND TRAFFIC AT NL200+.

Help me out here guys.

I feel this is going to be a long post just because I'm in the mood for a chat and everyone in my house is asleep, so I'm effectively going to talk to myself for a while, seeing as nobody reads my blog (which I don't care about because this is for me not you) and I just need to recap a few things that have happened in the past few days.

I don't remember all the details perfectly because it was all a kind of blur. To sum it all up, I have completely busted my bankroll.

lol jokes, I just had another downswing. Pretty bad this time too. I'm down to 1600 Euro which is my point for moving back dwon to NL100. So say goodbye to NL200 and say welcome back to NL100. We can just put that down to a failed shot at NL200 so no worries at all.

The only thing that is depressing is that I was so very close to making a succesful NL200 shot. I mean I got to over 3k, so if I won another 5 BI I'm striaght into NL400 (or rolled properly for NL200). So it just means I've gotta win another 4 BI at NL100 before another NL200 shot.

The problem still remains as to whether I should move sites or not. Seeing as nobody was helpful enough to answer my question in the previous post, I'm going to have to do my own research

So yeah, after this pretty sick downswing I'm gonna have a little bit of a rest from playing poker for a week or so. It's the way I deal with downswings. lol. Just stop playing. Ezy Game.

UMMMMMMM I think next time I have a NL200 shot I'm gonna change sites. Not sure where to and such. But you know I'll figure it out. Maybe I'll do that while I'm not playing poker this week.

Also, just finished my first week back of Uni for this semester. i'm only doing 3 subjects this semester instead of 4 because I want to have more of a relaxed semester for once. i mean I've been studying hard for around 6 years straight and it just get's boring after a while. I actually considered taking thius semester off and just to work, but I figured I may as well do some Uni work too.

So, I'm playing @pokerheaven, it has 30% rakeback if you rake >100 euros (no prob for you), and atm (11.34 CET) there are 5 NL400 tables running (4 are 5max, and 1 is 6max, and yes, PokerHeaven has 5max tables). Also 3 NL300 tables, and 7 NL200 tables.

I like your BRM, I'm doing sort of the same thing (albeit at the micros), but with 15BIs. If I drop to 12, move down.

I think your BR management is good up to a certain limit, as i am using a similar idea myself atm however maybe you should slow down abit now your reaching these limits? I think your BR managment is great for micros because the level of play doesnt change a great deal between limits. Problem is when you get to mid stakes, players are just gona be so much better and variance is going to increase a lot.

SO the reason i havent been updating is cos i hav been losing/busy/not playing poker. Also i had to make a withdrawal unfortunately for some real life crap like carz and shit.

So my bankroll is now back down at 1000 Euro. It sucks big time. So ill go back to taking some shots at NL100 until i lose back down to 800. So yeah.

As someone said, I'm gonna be a little bit more conservative than before and use 15 buyins to take a shot and move down at 12. i think thats better and it will help me with teh swings. I mean Im still only a 20 year old kid that has never really had alot of money to my name so losing a 1000 euro is a lot of money so hopefully from nnow on if i do lose 1000 euro it will only be like 1/5th of my bankroll rather than like 1/3rd. lolzor.

But in teh end poker is a game and i assume ill eventually get sick of it and just take all my money out. hopefully its not too soon cos im really enjoying the ride atm.
