Hi everyone,

I'm zxcvbnn, I'm 26 and started playing professionally in late 2009 as a 6max smallstakes reg.
I've never been able to get myself to put in volume so I never moved up, but poker as always given me enough to pay my bills.
Lately I've been running pretty bad and I just had to move down to 50nl.

I'm creating this blog because I usually play like 15k hands in a month and I hope it can get me to push myself and finally start putting in a decent volume and move up in stakes.

My goal are:

- to play at the very least 1k hands a day (may seem very low to most of you but it is pretty hard for me atm ^^ ) and hopefully to get to play 2k hands/day in the near future

- to be a midstakes reg by the end of this year.

I'll be posting updates on my sessions daily as I will use this thread to stay motivated on the grind and match the minimum requirements I set myself.
And I'll post interesting hands that come up.

Wish me luck and let's gogogo :f_biggrin:

First day, ran pretty bad and got tilted.
Instead of quitting for the day I played some 20nl to reach my daily target so I can get used to play that volume.
I usually play 4 tables (playing pretty badly if I play more than 4)

I decided to try to play 40bb deep and see how it goes to rebuild my roll back up.
By playing 40deep, I think I should be able to play more tables and to grind more because there is much less spots where you have to actually think.
I'm not used to it yet tho and I player slower than I would 100deep but once I will have seen all the common spots and how to react with the small stacksize I should be able to get in more volume.

graph of the day :

Here is a spot that seemed kinda awkward, both vilains are tag regs

Stacks:
Hero (CO) ($18.60)
BTN ($21.52)
SB ($103.94)
BB ($91.65)

Pre-Flop: ($0.75, 4 players) Hero is CO J♥ K♦
Hero raises to $1.25, BTN calls $1.25, 1 fold, BB calls $0.75

Flop: 4♠ Q♣ 10:heart: ($4, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $2.25, BTN calls $2.25, BB calls $2.25

Turn: 6♠ ($10.75, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $5.25, BB folds, Hero folds

I don't expect to really have fold equity on the turn vs 2 regs so I opted for a c/f.
Maybe a flop c/r would be better, if someone play with small stacks let me know what you think.
I'm also up for strategy talk if some people play with shallow stacks as I have no experience yet.
(also, why can't I post pictures in my posts ?)

cheers

Nothing to say about today, just lost every single pot.

graph of the day

e/ played another 330 hands more where i breakeven.
So pretty happy with the volume today, let's hope the results are gonna turn around soon tho :P

Why do you have basic status if ya playin' NL25? Good luck bud

Thanks,
I just created an account here to post on this forum because I don't like the mentality there is on 2+2. (I don't even know how the status and points stuff works on pokerstrategy ahah)

I'm from france but I'm living in thailand :f_love:

Ok so here we go for the daily whine !

Not much happened today, won some at $50nl lost some at €50nl (I know I'm doing it wrong)
I played a little bit less than 1k hands because the internet stopped working during my last session.

Graph of the day :

So 3rd day playing 40bb deep and 3rd loosing day in a row.
However I definitely think I'm +ev playing this stacksize.

So far I'm playing 14/13 (I know it's nit but can't really open sc and low pp when u play 40deep I guess) and I have wtsd 35% and w$sd of 38% which is really gross given how strong my ranges are.

So I guess I'm just running pretty poorly (I'm up in ev tho :P) and I will try to continue playing 40deep for at least 20k hands to see how it goes.

I'll go back to playing 100deep if that doesn't work out. (I win at 4ptbb over a big sample playing 100deep but it seems much easier to put in volume playing shallow stack and I really think regs play pretty badly against this stacksize)

Alright, gonna watch some videos and review my hands.

Hey,
I'm playing similar stakes to u. Will follow.

Hey,

I barely played yesterday because i was really tired and had to do stuff irl because I'm moving in a new flat this week.
Today I played a little bit over 1k hands but results are still meh.

Graph :

So let's get to august goals :

- Play 50k hands
- Go back to 100nl before the end of the month
- Switch back to playing 100bb deep if I haven't made money the first week

Most volume I played in a month since I'm in thailand is 20k hands, so that will be quite a challenge to get to 50

In the next few days I'm gonna try to do a sweat session with a friend who used to play on the 20-50bb tables on pokerstars to see if I'm playing correctly or not.

GL everyone

Here is a hand i played today, vilain autopost his blind then raise.

Stacks:
UTG ($50)
UTG+1 ($26.08)
CO ($48.01)
BTN ($17.68)
Hero (SB) ($19.75)
BB ($122.58)

Pre-Flop: ($1.25, 6 players) Hero is SB 9♣ 9♥
[CO posts $0.50]
2 folds, CO raises to $1.50, BTN calls $1.50, Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, CO calls $4.50, BTN folds

Flop: 5♠ 3♠ J♠ ($14, 2 players)
Hero ?

What do you think is the best play here ? (hero got a psb left)

Good luck, need some more volume;)

Hey,
stuff related to moving to a new place are taking much more time and energy than I would have thought so it's gonna be pretty hard to start grinding a lot this week.
I still wanna log in at least 7k hands this week tho and I'll go into lockdown once I'm settled in my new flat for the rest of the month.

Also anyone listened to the haseeb qureshi seminar ? I like what he writes in general, wanted to know if it's good or not.
