Me and Danny have been trying to convert him for a while now ♦ Although I do remember how hard I was to convert to SH from FR.
(felt like starting with a smiley today ♦
Lokiah - cheers, might see you at the NL5 tables before I move up ![]()
Wriggers - get the f*ck out this thread if your gonna post crap about your nanny (does the joke come across well in text haha) ![]()
Yeah I agree with the analysis hand judge, he had TT for flopped set, I figured he would bet with a lot of 1pair+draw hands that didnt get there on the river so I dont know exact % but I think long term its an ok call.
Vonki - Thanks, im sure it will end up being a SH had blog before the month is out, earning 0.025vpps/hand at NL5FR is painful to say the least. Ill be giving NL10 a shot next week and if its a nitfest ill give SH a try.
Had to work today fml so not played yet, gonna play CSS for abit because its the weekend and then im gonna see about putting in a session after it because I don't want to leave myself to much to do at the end of the month in terms of getting to platinumstar.
I also need to stop dreaming about becoming a SNE one day because then poker feels like a job and I dont want to not enjoy it if I think about it as a job.
Anyways, something to help you all grind...enjoy ![]()

Fantasy Premier League Season 11/12- pokerstrategy league
Well we are nearly halfway thru the month of august so i think its a good time to see how we are doing and assess the progress of my goals.
So far I have achieved;
- 28.68hours of playing time
- 13736 hands
- A profit of 15BI ($75), graph below
- 332.9vpps - target is 750vpps
- Goldstar status
- Bankroll to take shots at NL10
So overall I am happy with how I am progressing, with the support of my backer I will now take a shot at NL10 probably 6 tabling, with a stop/loss of 3BI just so i dont leave myself to much work at NL5 if it doesnt go to plan.
Im happy with how many hours/hands im playing but im a little disappointed at the rate im earning vpps, according to fpppro I should be looking at 0.041vpps/hand but im actually earning 0.024vpps/hand which really sucks, also means im going to have to put in alot more hands than I expected to reach platinumstar this month.
This is my graph so far for the month, is there any correlation between my redline declining slightly at 7000hands~ and my overall profit taking a greater gradient...meaning I was getting my winning hands to SD and folding out my losing hands as much as possible before SD.

So for the rest of the month this is the plan;
- Continue putting in significant volume
- Reach 750vpps before august 31st
- Attain platinumstar
- Successfully reach NL10
- Trial 6max @ NL5
As a mid-month treat I am going to play the bigger $2 tourney on stars, its a deep structured tourney so hopefully it will give me a decent edge, if anyone else is playing feel free to rail.

So as we enter the 2nd half of the month I consider the possibility of moving to SH again at first I thought against it and played a session of FR 9 tabling and I ran really bad it felt like July all over again, got AA cracked 3 times in 650 hands
I ended up finishing my last session of FR down 2BI which was not the way I wanted to go out but needs must and I must try something new to improve my earning rate.
So here on out it is a SH blog ♦
I fired up 6 tables of SH and off I went to make my name in the world of SH, I played 1k hands and in total won 3BI which was nice because it covered my earlier losses and got me in profit for the day.
I couldnt believe some of the plays I was seeing getting called down by 2nd pair weak kicker etc its unbelievable, and to top it all off it was the most enjoyable session of poker I have ever played, it just felt so refreshing ![]()
Anyway as you gather im going to continue playing 6 tables of SH for 5/6k hands then im gonna take a shot at NL10, im hoping that after ive re-read verneers and easy game I should improve my understanding and that will help me kick on.
Here Is a graph of yesterdays session, gotta shoot as I need to get ready for work but already excited about putting in a SH session later on tonight, after that I will post some thoughts on strategy etc
The point where graph is lowest is when i quit FR and started SH ♠_biggrin:

Target - whats up man? did you like the nitring blog ♦
Anyway put in another 1k session and finished up around $12 after this monster hand. These guys were super aggro so I was happy stacking off here.

Not really played much over the weekend because ive been working & sleeping so much, played on the 18th for around 900 hands and made a 1BI profit and then worked pretty much flat out friday/saturday/sunday so tonight was first chance to put in a meaningful session, played 1200 hands and returned another 1BI profit, all thanks to this hand really!

Anyway for the month im sitting on 500vpps so I need to earn 250vpps in the next week or so, ideally I need to break the back of it over the next two days because im working sh*t loads next weekend so its gonna be tough to grind after a long days work
Also, im gonna play 1 more session of NL5 tomorrow and if it goes ok im going to take a 3BI shot at NL10, really hope it goes aswell as the last time I took a shot at NL10 ♦
On the 27th ill be playing 100k monthly freeroll for goldstar+ so I really want to go deep in that and give my BR a big boost!
In aid of my conversion to SH ive been reading balugawhales easy game vol1, I find it a really easy book to read and think the concepts are basic enough that it can easily be applied to NL5.
Anyway its only a small update for now, will probably do a bigger one if I take a shot at NL10

Are you still playing 9 tables at once? I found it made a big difference in my play when i went from 4 to 9. I stopped getting into as many bad situations

No, ive gone back down to 6 tables while at SH just so I can spend a little bit more time thinking over my postflop decisions.
6 tables of SH = 9 tables of FR in terms of hands/hour with the added bonus of more vpp/hand at SH ♦
I agree with this (bold bit) and I think it works well for the micros but as you move up I think it will help to improve your postflop play by playing a few less and making less robotic decisions.
Anyway, gonna go make some food, put in a session, play some ps3 and then another session after that if all goes to plan!
So since my last update a few things have changed, ive moved upto NL10 and running good and also I decided to get the spare monitor out and use a two monitor setup!
So NL10, Ive played 2109 hands and made a profit of $35.96 so far which im really happy about as I didnt want to make an early loss and have to go back down to NL5. Just need to keep going because I feel like im playing nowhere near optimally at SH and im making a healthy profit so cant wait to keep improving and begin to make even more money ♦ Only problem I have is im already thinking about NL25 and I dont want to get ahead of myself haha
Also as I say been using 2 monitors now which is immensely useful, I've got it setup so the 6 tables are on one screen and then hem/Skype/chrome/stars lobby are on the other, which is really helpful so you don't have windows popping up over the top of active tables!
If anyone is considering getting a 2nd monitor id urge them to do so for sure. Also considering getting a new laptop thinking of the MSI GX660R which is about £1k but for that much I will have to wait until Christmas time!
Ive been considering my short/medium/long term goals today and trying to put my original goals into perspective (wsop & Thailand).
I still think the wsop is realistic if I run super hot over the next 10months but alot of things have to go right as a result I want to set up some shorter term goals that will lead up to the world series!
Gonna think about this tonight and then tomorrow Ill post what I think my goals should be, every goal I make will be really flexible because If I don't reach a goal It doesn't mean I wont reach my end prize, it just means Ill have to find another way of getting to the prize!
keep ur heads up bro, seem u doing well.Im gonna try catch up to u !
i hit plat star last week ! woot me haahah
Lokiah - cheers man, haha I hope not I want to be on NL25SH before september for sure so unless you steamroll NL10 for 30bb/100 nobody is catching me ♦ well done on getting to platinumstar!
Manu - ye this is it, the most deluded blog you will read ![]()
Alex - GTFO ![]()
Well after my last post I set myself a goal of putting in volume to get to platinumstar by tonight and I did it
So im very happy on that regard, since the last update I played a 850hand session and won 1BI, I played 1600hands this morning and dropped $8 which was my first losing session this month I think, but then I just put in a short 530hand session and won like $11 so Im still in profit for the day after putting in 2100hands total.
In terms of NL10 so far ive put in 5100 hands and made a total profit of $58, as I said in the previous post I just want to kick on now.
I also find it interesting that when I was building a roll at FTP I struggled at NL5 similarly to how I did earlier this month on stars but then soon as I moved upto NL10 I felt like I crushed the games.
Theses are my combined FR&SH stats for NL5 and NL10 this year;
limit hands profit bb/100
NL5 66k +$21.64 0.90
NL10 15k +$273.32 18.86
I know there fairly small sample sizes but even for the amount of hands its a significant difference! Thoughts?
Need to break up this text a little so Ill post my graph of this month so far!

Alas its coming to the end of the month of August which is a shame but that means the 100k vip freeroll is saturday ♦ and also Ill be starting back at uni at some point in september, I had a look at my provisional uni timetable and my god it must be the worst ever!
Monday 9 till 11
Tuesday 9 till 12
Wednesday 9 till 11
Thursday 9 till 12
Friday 10 till 12
I mean wtf I play poker, no sane poker player gets up before 1pm wtfffff! I really hope it changes alot ♦
Anyway I haven't forgot about my goals I was going to post im thinking about aiming for silverstar every month now which should be doable at NL10SH for sure.
I want to be taking shots at NL25 by the end of september and NL50 by christmas time, I dont want to rush NL25+ because I think I really need to develop my game further and fix my major leaks if im to continue building up a large roll.
The main reason I want a decent roll by christmas is because it will give me an idea of how feasible going to the world series will be, i feel like going into what my dream scenario would be ♦
Finish uni in may so that wont interfere, I will go for 8 weeks total, spend 2/3 weeks in vegas depending how well I run and then I will spend time driving from vegas to savannah, GA to see my aunt and uncle, ideally with enough time id take a leisurely drive taking in all the sights from nevada to georgia, via texas, louisiana and florida maybe, then spend some time with my family before coming home! ♦
Thats the dream in my head anyway, because I finished my session early im gonna price it up and see how much it costs.
Very sorry its tl;dr but felt like it was as good a time as any ♦
Have Fun and Good Luck at the tables
Good read tom, glad to see you're settling into SH nicely. Thank us later ![]()
Personally I think you should wait a couple of years 'til you go to Vegas so I can come with (don't turn 21 til September next year, fml). Or at least go again then ♦
