Hello all! I'd like to make a first deposit on PokerStars but I'd like to know how other canadian players have proceeded, since I'm encountering the following problem:

I can't deposit directly from my Visa card because it won't allow me to put money on a gambling website, and I hit the same wall when I attempt to deposit from the same Visa into my moneybookers account. Is there anyway to circumvent this, or otherwise, what is the simplest and safest way to make a deposit on Stars? Thanks a lot.

PS. I'm with RBC Royal Bank, if the changes anything.

instadebit is the easiest option I think.

And how does instadebit work, I suppose it's similar to moneybookers right? Won't I run into the same issue depositing money there, i.e. getting blocked by Visa because it's money to gamble with?

Comes right out of your bank account, no need for visa.

That's odd...

I've used Visa many times (CIBC) and now I use Moneybookers and again I load it via Visa... Weird.

I'll look into all those options again I suppose, but I'm quite certain that I was blocked both in trying to use my Visa and my personal bank account, but perhaps it's RBC that has tighter regulations
