The red line is what tells me I'm playing my A-game (or maybe B+)
No i dont believe that a site could be rigged.Ofc i agree with you.But maybe its an unlucky site for you.Maybe you should take a shot at stars

With respect, they are the same thing. If a site is 'unlucky' for a particular person then it's in some way rigged for them. If you are superstitious about these things and keep changing sites waiting for the run-good to come you lose the benefit of reads/notes you've built up and familiarity with blind structures. If you are rational, you just suck it up and grind it out.

Sheer Brutality:On the plus side I have managed to condense my thoughts and feelings about running so badly recently into one statement which I believe to be a true reflection of the reality of playing professionally:
If neither cash flow nor bankroll are issues (and they are not*), then all we need to do is to play a sufficient volume of games/hands each month so that, at our given level of profitability, average (EV) earnings are comfortably sufficient to live on.
I think Twice T (and I hope I am not misquoting him) said something similar -- and more succinctly: "I know my hourly, so I just so the fu*k down and play."
With these thoughts in mind I decided to move up to the $55s on Party (or at least the few such games that run). In the back of my head the old voice said: don't move up until your runbad has ended, otherwise you will lose even more at the higher stakes. But the rational bit of me understands, now -- if not before, that this is simply nonsense. If my game is solid and profitable, I will make money. I've only managed 12 games so far but the ineptitude of some of the players with 55 bucks to splash around is pretty staggering.

is this hu sng? if so, no sample size. dont even look at graph below 250 matches if it influences u.
the quote u posted is just 100% correct for pros

Just regular SnGs; not HU. Just posted the graph to illustrate the mindset point I mentioned.

♠_cool: I thank you. The quote is me.

now its time to run 100 > ev at the 55s. GO!
No need for introductions. You know the drill by now. I post a graph where the gap between the dollars I have earned and the dollars I should have earned is a bit bigger than the gap in the last graph I posted.

On the plus side I'm running at 65% ROI after 20 or so $55s, which I can live with. Off to have my massage now -- a regular biweekly occurrence during which my wife averts her eyes as a woman who is no relation to me rubs oil all over my naked torso.
I'm not running any better as a result, but at least running badly doesn't "hurt" so much.
Over and out.

this probably wont cheer you up, but its worth a shot!

my first 6 months as a STT pro. the ev is like a carrot on a stick. but the RNG is controlling your legs!

Thanks everyone for all the support. I feel very sure I will come through this. Speaking of sick brags, and since I have so little to brag about, here's my first 25 games at the $55s (FR/6mx):
i was also looking for the $ changer that changes EV$ into US$. let me know when u find it
good luck ♦
i has some question to all of u sng pros ![]()
I) why considering the red ev line? u need a whole lot of sample size for it to even out. setups are way more important mid-term to see wheather u are hot or cold imo.
also, maxEV playing styles often lead to bad AI EV lines. lets say we flop a set vs an over aggro reg. we c/c cuz his bluffing frequencies are way off. turn blanks and he spikes a gs and fires another big bullet. we know (after calculating this spot and assessing him ranges and weightening combos) that c/c, c/c, c/c (or rAI) is max ev. so we c/c turn and we know he will shove rest on river. once in a while he spikes his gs or w/e and we get it in with 0% eq. had we gotten it in earlier, we would have 80% vs his range (but ofc we only get it in against his value hands in this case, so 10 times less often as if we take the c/c 3x line where we get all his stack from his value and his bluff range.
II) we can see in tim's last graph, that even during a hot run, we can still run below ev. but ofc setups must have been in our favour.
i can only compare everything to cashgames, since my experience is way bigger here. <3 posted a 6k games graph before ... is it right to assume, that those are less than a quarter million hands played? within such a (decent, but not biiiig) sample, cant it be that our setups have been such, that we are still making up for all the below ev run?* (e.g.we could have gotten sets way more often than we usually "deserv" in such a sample, and could have won 750k chips. maybe we should have won 850k chips in those hands, but fd drew out on us more often than expected, thus showing us an "unlucky" AI EV graph. but still, we made 750k chips with sets and got cool setups waaay above expectation. then ofc blaming AI EV doesnt make sense)
or cant it be that even tho we are some buy-ins below ev, in actuality we run even colder due to brutal setups and spots.
*i have played way more than 250k hands and i can tell u variance in games where our edge is not xtremely huge (and i think its fair to assume it is not in an sng format) is biiiiig and i have seen all kinds of crazy stuff happening within 100k samples
III) why actually ever looking at AI EV? to make sure our game is still +ev and we beat the games we are in? if so, isnt it better to talk with other pros about the game as often as possible so we make sure our skill level is way above those of our opponents.
i have rarely seen ppl overall posting graphs where they run hot in AI EV. i think looking at it in HEM can never induce good feelings, we only feel bad if we are below ev and we feel like we deserv more. however, AI EV is just one part of the overall "luck" and since we all know it all equals out in the mid-long term, it rly doesnt matter where the red line is.
[sry for long post, but i had one cg table running that i couldnt close - pos on 2 "weaker" plrs - and thought i pass by the sng camp in our blog section]
€: its late and i played tennis/poker all day ♦ actually the moral of the story: imo, its best not to look at AI EV lines as they never give us positive feelings anyway. i do believe that u are running cold as antarctica atm, i just wanted to say i personally think AI EV graphs dont contribute anything positive to a poker pro's mindset.
