So time came for daily report. Finished 2nd session - it was better than first, I'm only 1Bi down for the day. Not happy with my play on the first session, tilted a bit, because I was too much results orientated. I read couple of psychological articles, about it, and 2nd session was much better. Also, watched 2nd part of the Crushing NL 50 series, and readed that article. Will try to watch and read 3rd part today.

Starting bankroll: 95.02$
Bankroll ATM: 89.68$
Today: -2.15$

Played two sessions today - 950 hands. Up lil more than 2 BI. Also, watched 3rd and 4th parts of the crushing nl50 series. If i'll have time, i'll try to watch 5th part, if won't, i'll at least read some articles and columns.

Starting bankroll: 95.02$
Bankroll ATM: 93.88$
Today: 4.26$

Also, the first half of the month almost passed already, and I noticed, that, probably, i won't be able to reach my goals. Specificaly - hands and gold status at PS.com. Well, it's hard to play 35k hands a month, playing only 4 tables two sessions per day, same with gold status. NL5 goal, will depend on variance, because all this month, i'm going up and down, and can't bring my BR at least up to 100$.

See ye.

Just watched, 5th part of the crushing nl50. I just can't tell how good i feel right now. And i can't tell how much i want to punch my face, for not watching this before :f_mad:

It explains all concepts I had problems with, especially 3bets and 3bet pots.

Tomorrow, I'm going to party, so won't be able to put much much volume, but I'll try to play one session in the morning, at least. Also, probably won't be able to post daily report tomorrow, but I will, for sure, when I'll be back home.

Also, remainder to myself: WATCH 5TH PART OF THE CRUSHING NL50 WHEN I'LL BE BACK HOME, BEFORE SITTING TO TABLES.

Good weekend for all of you, guys.

Hey, I'm back from The sickest party of this summer. Can't remember last time I've drinked so much. My brain hurts bad. Today, no NLSH tables for me for sure. I have some kind of freeroll ticket, so I might play that tournament. Of course if I won't fall asleep till then. Also, will try to watch 5th part of crushing nl50.

Till next update.

Small update from my iPod while I'm resting on coach. So, that day when I got home from that sick party and planned to play freeroll or watch crushing nl50 video - I didn't manage to do neiher, I just crashed in my bed :x yesterday I played two sessions though. And then my pc started to freak out - lagging, crashing, freezing etc. So I spent last night, and this whole day fixing it - reinstalled windows dozen of times, formated all disks, I think I lost last month everest history because of that... Also, watched 6 and 7 parts of the crushing nl50 yesterday. I will probably end tuis video series today, but for sure, I will rewatch them hundreds of times later.

So, now I'll probably go to watch last part, and later I'll b back to my pc, I'll post bigger update with reports for yesterday, and graphs for the first half of his month. Also, will post a story how I beat my friend's friend (some Zynga "pro" lol) on that party.

Sye ya!

Ok, so I finished watching Crushing NL50 series for the first time. More times to come for sure. In the last few videos, I find out about some of the more advanced concepts, and I don't think I should use some of them on NL2. Bes thing is that I understand them.

As I said, I want to tell you story, how I won HU match against a friend of my friend (well, he's my friend now too, lol, he looked like a really cool guy). So we decided to play at all, huh?

Spoiler

Well, I took my younger brother to that party too, and as he aware of me, grinding a lot of online poker, he somehow, started to talk about, how "pro" I am, and I won a lot of tournaments with big cash etc.. as a response he said that he won 20k for the first place on some tournament. Lol, everyone was drunk, but somehow we managed to know, that none of us won anything, except of little home games. His friends said that he's really good at it, though.

And at this moment he decides that we need to play heads up. At first, I was like, damn, his friends says he's good, and I'm really drunk. No money were involved, but if i win, I'll have reputation for a good poker player etc. lol, that's that i thinking about drunk. But then i got an idea, about, what if i ask him some really simple poker term.. I didn't really thinked more about it, and asked him, do you know what EV means? He said no, and i insta called.. Uh.. i mean I said let's go play _biggrin:

I have suitcase with chips, so i dealed 2,2k chips to each of use, and blinds were 25/50. So we didn't even had 50BB. But the game had to be short, because drinks were waiting for us, lol. So, the first hand, i got 86o. He completed, and i checked. Flop came, something like A7A. he checked, i checked. turn comes 2, and we both checked again. river comes 6, i have a pair now. And he suddenly bets 500. Pot is 75, he bets 500. :f_mad: Now, these things were running through my mind: if i won't call now, I'll never know, how he plays, if he capable of such a bluffs, and his OVER bet is nonsenses. And one more thing - i was drunk :f_p: So i called, and gues what, he shoves me Q high. lol. So 1/4 of his stack in first hand. When we played two hands, one i raised before flop, he folded, and another one vice versa. When i found Jd8d. I raised he called. Flop comes Q2x two diamonds. He checks, I cbet, he calls.. Turn comes J, so i have a combo draw now. And he bets 500 again, lol. I was thinking a lot on this. But i called. River brings me flush. He now checks, I bet all his money, about 800, and he calls, with pair of 2. So that's the story, lol. That made me very hapy for two reasons - I barely never play heads up, and i can't really remember the last time i played live. And also, i won lol.

Ok, now report.

As i said, i played two sessions yesterday, but nothing today. That's because problems with my computer. It's all fixed now. Also, i downloaded a PokerTracker, it has quite long trial, so I'll be using it instead of the Elephant.

I end up yesterday 2.5 BI down.

So for this month my graph looks like this:

Spoiler

Also, I played only 10 of these 16 days. Well, i might still play today, and probably will, one short session at least, to see how PT looks in use.

And as I am not able to put such a volume as expected, i will decrease my goals. So my goals are:

[ - ]Reach NL5
[ - ]Reach Basic Camp Vip tier at Everest
[ - ]End BSS Basic school
[ - ]Play at least 18k hands

I think I will still be able to reach NL5, if i will fix some of my leaks, see below. I won't for sure reach Gold. Maybe, when I'll be grinding NL5. I already played 8k hands in first half of the month, although, if i would be able to play all 15 days, maybe i could've played something like 12k. But i know too, that school is coming, and i won't be able to grind all day, esspecialy in the last days of this month.

I know that i have a big leak, and it's that i contibet too much. My contibet is 85%. Any advices, on what flops to cbet, and what to not to? Should i cbet against calling station on a flop with no high card?

cbet with a purpose. the majority of players at low stakes are loose passive. That means they won't fold very often to a flop cbet. make sure that if you don't have top pair or 2nd pair good kick, that you have something you can draw to. checking back on flop can be quite useful. at low stakes what I did was:
vs loose passive:
-cbet all my top pair OK kicker type hands or better.
-cbet all my bottom pair no draw hands, unless villain almost never folds.
< reason being, I will rarely improve. I want to win the pot and be done with it, or fire once, eval turn and maybe check fold, unless he folds often to cbets on turn and I hit a draw or something>.

- cbet all my flush draws + two overcards.
- cbet any pocket pair as long as its better than bottom pair.

I check back:
-non suited connectors
-2nd pair with potential to improve ( eg J8o on 3JQ board)
- a mix of strong draws when I expect my opponent to bet into my when checked to.
- total air.

some people play it different, and i'm not saying all of above is the best play, but its worked so far for me.

Read about your friends overbet, and I wonder if you have any idea to why people do this? Some of my friends do it in our games, and I really dont understand how they think

I read in one of the articles in ps that fishes tend to think that big bet means big hand, small bet - weak hand. And as every poker player tend to think that opponent thinks same or almost same like him, so he tries to show me that he has a big hand, by betting big. But of course that's my 2 cents. Actually next time Ill meet him I'll ask that the overbet master himself ;D

Ok, so update as promised. :) First of all, stats and graph.

Spoiler

Please, if you have a moment, check out my stats. Any leak found is a win for me.

I managed to fix my c-bet, with help of some members and by reading articles :)

My br is currently at $87.78, but i deposited 5$ to get bonus and also cleared 7.20 of it. So, my br would look much worse without them.

Also, just couple of points till first VIP level at Everest :]

Thanks for the good luck and encouragement, Saruniks!

Bad news: My pc crashed on August 30th, so I didn't managed to grind anything since then. I'm already talking my parents to fix this computer/buy new one, so I think I'll be able to get back to tables in a few days. Will post report, then, for whole August too. Meanwhile I'll try to follow BSS School theory part, and will try to read as much articles as I can. Although, it seems very hard for me, when I can't grind.

Hello everyone,

I got my pc back, so as I promised, here's report for August.

Spoiler

I managed to end month green and that's great. Also, I'm uploading my whole month stats, so if you see something terrible wrong, then please tell me. My BR atm is about 104$.

Ok, I got my pc couple days ago, but I barely managed to get some volume since then. That's because school started, and now I need to wake 6:30 AM, every morning (except weekends). I'm not used to that after summer, so when I get back from home I feel very shitty and tired. So, any tips about that is more than welcome. Maybe to go sleep very early, or something..

I'm thinking about some kind of shedule, like play one session after school, then go to sleep couple hours, and then play more on evening. I think that would be better than going sleep early, because there's more fish on evenings.

I hates these breaks from playing poker. Before, I felt very good with my game, but now it's just not it. I'll try to play as much as I can, but I won't play today, for sure. Just got back from tournament - my legs hurts, and I feel very tired.

[ - ]Reach NL5

Well, I can't really do much about it. I think such goals, are not very good for me. I should just concentrate on volume and theory.

[ + ]Reach Basic Camp Vip tier at Everest

Yep, I did it. I'll get double points this month, so that's cool.

[ + ]End BSS Basic school

Yep, I did it too. I'm going through this school, once again, so I can learn basics perfectly.

[ - ]Play at least 18k hands

Well, this would have been done if my pc wouldn't had crashed on the end of the month, but still, even now, it was very close.

I learn a lot from your post on Hand Analysis Forum, and it is surprise (bad surprise) to see your winning rate is so tiny :(
I expected much bigger WR from a good player like you

From your hand posting I sure that you definitely a better player than me, but my WR is higher than you. I guess you are not table selecting well.

BTW, with small sample, it maybe just variance as well. Good Luck for this month!

Hey, i read your blog so far, pretty nice, hope you achieve your goals.

Is it Short Handed BSS you are playing atm? You didn't quite state that, and those crushing nl 50 videos are the hassenbraten ones right? If they are they're FR videos so yeah i'm pretty confused :b

First of all, glad to hear that I'm helping someone too :) Actually, I table select very much. I don't play on the table, if there is no fish.

The reason why my WR is so low, is because my red line eats almost all blue line. So i got huge problem with my non-showdown winnings, and I already noticed some time ago, and started to do something about it. That was when I started to search my leaks, who cause it, and that was how I found out that I cbet too much.

ATM, I fixed my cbeting (thanks to the wonderful community), so my red line should look much better. We'll see it, when I'll have bigger sample.

Thanks for good luck, patszerdonk ;)

As for now, I just started to play today, after my break. Played two sessions, and nicely, I'm 5BI up. Also, got 0.5BI from bonus, so my BR is now 115$. 5BI more and I will start taking shots.

Talking about goals. I won't set anything specifically for me. I'll try to play and study as much as I can. I'll aim to play two sessions everyday, unless I won't be able to do that (because of: football training/match, bad mindset, BSS Basic School coachings, playing live poker, homeworks, etc..).

Thanks for posting, yankee92 ;)

Yes, I'm playing Short Handed BSS. And yes, these crushing NL50 videos are made by hassenbraten. In first 4 parts they're talking about FR, but even in those first parts there is A LOT to learn even for FR players. I'm talking mainly about post flop concepts. And last 4 parts are for SH.
