[Closed] Epic Poker Adventure

Ok so I haven't posted in this since I started it a month ago but I plan to change this, I've just been busy with a lot of things. Since i started this I've played 16 sessions, and things haven't been going so well As of now I've played 14k hands of NL2 and I'm down $17, my bankroll is $37. Not good.

So I've tried to identify my leaks, and there are a few things that I know are wrong with my game:

I cbet too much, at 86%
I don't fold to cbets enough, at 54%
I don't fold to 3bets enough, at 51%
My WTSD might be a bit high at 26%, but my W$SD is 53%, which I think is quite standard?

As for my normal stats, I play 11/8/3/3.6 [VPIP/PFR/AF/3b]

Might be a bit nitty, I know I'm a bit of a nit UTG, but I do open a lot from LP so I don't think it's a big leak

I looked at my winnings summary based on flop hand strength, and I've lost the most with top pair weak kicker or worse, with weak/no draw. I didn't think I was that much of a calling station

And that actually brings me to my biggest leak I think, which is being waaaay too spewy, and basically shoving for no good reason, something like this:

Anyway, this post is kind of like the introduction part 2, from now on, I will post here all my sessions, interesting hands, ideas, etc. And hopefully with the help of others I can improve my game

Goals for this month:

Play 15k hands before the end of this month (although I'm starting college in the last week so not sure how busy I'll be then)
Post at least 3 hands in the hand evaluation forums after each session.
Read and re-read 10 Silver strategy articles and know them in-depth.

i will be reading and look forward to seeing some more hands from you! QQ looks like what happened to me a few times. i tend to assume now that if i have TPTK/overpair i have the best hand unless im reraised. i can remember many times when i've got it in in that situation and seen a set - much more than i've seen a FD/SD. alarm bells are definitely going off now whenever this happens.

nice blog ♦ thinking through your own plans and noting them down helps keep your thoughts and goals organized. i think this can only help you towards your improvement.

that QQ hand, i dont think i could fold an overpair on NL2 either unless villain was just super mega passive

that 88 hand, id be curious as to what the hand judge will say.
here's some additional thoughts i wanted to share.
when you see 7% 3bet, i suspect vast majority of them are blinds vs bu/co steal. because i dont think he 3bets utg raiser light at all. think it helps if you check out some positional stats. you do have 1k hands on the guy.
i think you will find that people arent 3betting you as light as you thought.

because you need to ask why you would 4bet here. is it a bluff? (i assume it wasnt for value because then why would you fold?) we bluff to get them to fold. did you hope him to fold AQ here? what about JJ? maybe KQ?

i think calling is another option here. you are in position, you will be able to play really well on succeeding streets, if you hit your set, he pays you off, and you are bit deep. you know what kinds of flop hits him well (i expect him to only have AQ+ here)

Yeah you're completely right about the 88, I didn't think about the relevance of my position vs. his in that hand, and yeah I guess the 4bet was a bluff because he is folding to 80% of 4bets, but yeah, I should have called.

So today I did a sweat session with DrDunne, ended up +$2.74, played 400 hands on 4 tables and it was a very useful experience! Hopefully we'll do it again

We had a few tough spots but it's all good because I've shipped them over to the hand evaluation forums
