i like shove. we rep Asx a lot and on fr tables ranges are just so different. they never stack QQ pre, so he can easily have TT-QQ.

for 100bb u dont see ppl call suited conn of any sort vs a big 3b. so only way he has a flush is if he has AsQs. AsKs i think would 4b, but not sure. anyway, in sh games i usually bet turn as ppl are way more paranoid. i think in fr games though u have same fe with shoving and betting. and shoving reps more Asx so imo shove is best here. small bet looks actually stronger is he has JJ. i was still surprised not to see him call here. maybe 66-88 (with spade). althought there is no difference in 88 and QQ here, they probably still fold lower pairs.

@ KQ hand:
i can def see all line here. 3way on the flop i think u have a lot of fe vs 99 etc. so i like cbetting actually. even AQ wont raise u. its fr. as played i actually like the turn check. seems like both plrs have nothing and betting just folds out their nothing. hearts will bet and maybe JT decides to bet as well. i like c/c turn as played. river i would bet out. at this point if sb wanted to bluff, they would have f or t. we can just hope sb has JJ and calls one bet. or maybe made a 9 on the river.
i personally would bet a bit smaller here. around 28. yes its true, 28 doesnt look bluffy and 42 is the size u would chose with most of your bluffs and your value hands. but then again, we have to play their calling range and u are unknown anyway. i cant imagine 9x or TT calling 42. 27 maybe

what were your thoughts in this hand vonki?

and yeah, btw: great investment :f_love:
if u see scout again, i buy all your action again :f_grin:

with the aces, I think i prefer to bet enough on turn to 1.2x shove the river, agree with your assigned range for villain though.

edit: love the turn check once you check the flop with kq, but dont love the flop check as much as its multiway and people play tight in fr so we get more folds :)

Well, going to the flop with 2 regs without scout wasnt something I had planned on really. It was one of the first hands so I was still a bit scared and my initial thought was "hm, if I bet and don't hit the turn what will I do? If I bet and get raised, what will I do? (keep in mind I don't have that much experience with FR overall, and havent got the slightest clue how aggressive the game could be at this point on NL600). --> BEEP BEEP BEEP YOU HAVE 2 SECONDS LEFT TO ACT. "Oh f*ck. I just check/call".

Once they both checkback and I hit the K on the turn I just thought betting out will fold out all worse hands and make it pretty obvious I have the K. So I decide to go for c/c and underrep my hand for the river. Once they both check back again I think anyone would have bet river, but again, not much time to think and I never managed to get further than "if I make it look bluffy I might get called?". My heart was beating pretty fast and I was honestly pretty intimidated, the guy on my left seemed rly good :f_mad:

Was pretty happy when I won that pot tho. For me it didn't matter so much they didn't call me. I was just happy to have won Just like when I pick up 44 my very first hand and heart starts pounding after I put in a raise. Never been so excited to see everyone fold and steal the blinds my whole life!

Again TT, thanks for commenting on the hands. Overall easier to understand when you've been involved in the hands urself and pretty nice to at least get a slight clue about what its like on these stakes and how they'd think/act. Very very nice :f_love:

Btw TT, your comment about the AA hand you say "vs a big 3b". Hmm, is it too big?

So jealous of YabYayo and GraveGoods...just found this post by accident, had searched manically and just lost all hope that mentoring (rather than expensive coaching) actually existed.

Anyway, nice one Vonki and Wriggers. hopefully when I'm at the dizzying heights of platinum/diamond I can give some brer a leg-up too!

To YabYayo and GraveGoods: good luck guys, use it well!

aww, sorry Pilks7 :f_frown:

Also, a question about the KQ hand. If we raise all PP from all positions, which I assume we're doing, and most others too, then how can we have so much FE on the flop vs 99? Should we cb the flop if we have like 77 aswell?

And what about if we cb the flop, and get called. Are we contiuing any cards except for when we hit? What if a J or T hits the turn?

I think I get it now. 99 will have trouble continuing any further than the flop, since if I bet again on the turn my percieved range should be pretty strong right?

As for the flop, my percieved range is still wide though, and that's why I thought it didn't make sense to have to much FE vs like 99 ^^

By betting the flop we can balance our bluffs and valuehands very well. But so what if we can assume our villains won't continue with 99, what is our best plan for turn if we get called? It should mean they'll only call strong hands? I'm guessing maybe TT+ will call and Ax. Say we hit a K on the turn after betting flop. I don't think they'll call the turn again (except Ax), but possibly calling river if we check turn to them? lol i don' know. I guess this is how a levelwar begins

Thanks and sorry

There's no reason you can't join a study group, or even make one yourself for players at your level :) I know study groups have helped me an awful lot.

I'm busy trying to change my playstyle a bit... working towards becoming more of a LAG rather than a TAG.

The more spots I put myself into now, the better. Learn faster, make cheaper mistakes, less bothered about the $$$. I think main priority for now should be to establish a new playstyle. I'm thinking along the lines of 26/24-24/22 or something with 7-9% 3b. Fishes running good lately tho.

Still very much on track regarding volume. Think i'll be having a massive MTT marathon on sunday aswell. Time to ship it big and move up in stakes :f_biggrin:

Mentees doing a very good job so far. Hard working bee's. Did a NL4 SH session with them the other day to show them how to adjust to players on their own stakes and went through a load of information. I think I talked for 1,5 hour nonstop lol. Made some pretty solid soulreads and earned a few icecreams in the process.

Things are feeling pretty good :)

if necessary i play 13/9 - call me winning player

doesnt matter if u call it lag, tag, rock, maniac .... playing +ev for every given table condition is crucial. if being nitty is max ev, im a nit. if playing 5/28 is max ev, i do that.

_evil:

Quick update on volume: In total I've played more than 90 hours now!! 82 hours of cashgame and 14 hours of MTT's.

Ofc, I'm still aiming to get in 90h just in CG, but will probably end up above 90 hours. Also playing more MTT's so this will by far be my biggest volume month. I may even en up having played 100% more this month then I ever did before. :f_love:
