Dealt to Hero A♣ K♣

Hero raises to $50, raises to $1,500 (AI), Hero ???

First hand of the match against an unknown opponent, I know we should avoid coinflip situations but come on, we have AKs in a HU game. Call or fold in your opinion?

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $20(BB) Replayer
($1,430)
Hero ($1,570)

Dealt to Hero K♦ 5♠

Hero raises to $40, calls $20

FLOP ($80) K♣ 5♣ 2♣

checks, Hero bets $60, calls $60

TURN ($200) K♣ 5♣ 2♣ J♠

bets $60, Hero raises to $250, calls $190

RIVER ($700) K♣ 5♣ 2♣ J♠ 7♠

checks, Hero bets $540, raises to $1,080 (AI), Hero calls

Villain is a 76/39 agro-fish (?) after 20 hands. He appeared to be pretty active postflop, donking quite a lot in these 20 hands. I dont like my river betsize to be honest, but I decided to call because I expected him to raise all-in with 2 pair+ as a value and sometimes busted draws as a bluff. What do you think?

the AK is all about the winrate per hour and how big is ur edge vs vilain

the second hand

how u play it out and how often the guy would bluff once u raise the turn and u make a big raise with almost zero fold equity i would fold

the only hand u beat there is a busted draw

i do like the bet river because most call ur big raise on the turn showing u have a good hand and rarely that someone would raise with the action of the turn he must have it and then like moshman said on how the hand u played u pot commit a lot to call but i think i will still fold tho even on how u played it out and the odds he might do that move with 2 pair ups

the optimal play definitly bet smaller the river

Hmmm, pretty interesting questions...

KQ: maybe he would have played c/r on the turn instead of check/calling, defending his hand and maximising value.
97, J9: with these hands he would have probably c/r this drawy flop.

Oh, and you do not put any 8x to his range, can I ask you to give me a reason why you think he would not shove the river with these combos?

And thanks for all the evaluations. :)

Do you think an average 7$ player reevaluates his straight and plays check/call instead of check/shove when the board pairs on the river? That would take KQ and 8x out of his range if I'm right. :)

i never put the buy in into my analysis

i also dont consider people fish when i play vs them

reason its doesnt influcen any of my decision

_biggrin:

so for u inthis case u should ask urself is this guy is capable to shove all in on ur huge bet if u think so then u can call

but not say its just a buy in oif 7$ then i call

i mean this is a not a good reason to call its more a reason that u want to give urself to call

u understand what i mean

in each decision i do i NEVER consider the buy in when i play

Hmmm, good point and so true. As a shorthanded cash game player I was always told to pay attention to my limit's tendencies and try to create a fictional "MrAverageNL50" to make decisions in vacuum, but in HU games it wont work I guess. Just another example how much I still need to learn to adapt to these games. =)

Hero ($1,640)
($1,360)

Dealt to Hero T♥ J♦

raises to $90, Hero calls $60

FLOP ($180) 5♠ J♣ 7♦

Hero checks, bets $120, Hero calls $120

TURN ($420) 5♠ J♣ 7♦ 6♥

Hero checks, bets $300, Hero calls $300

RIVER ($1,020) 5♠ J♣ 7♦ 6♥ 4♦

Hero checks, bets $850 (AI), Hero folds

wins $1,020

I played this hand against a fish, who limped a lot from SB and check/raised me quite frequently on the flop (stats: VPIP 77, PFR 28, AF 3.3, flop cbet 83%, turn cbet 2 out of 5 times so far).
Preflop I decided to call since my hand has good playability (although TJs would be a lot better) and postflop I expected to have a decent edge on him. I did not know anything about how he reacts to 3bets but he did not appear to be a huge fan of folding without seeing the flop. Is it okay to just flat TJo with the above reasons?
Postflop he instabets all 3 streets and with his betsizing on the turn I should have folded I think. His flop bet sizing was standard but on the turn I never saw him betting this big before (that was only his second turn cbet so thats not a strong read I afraid). With these observations is folding on the turn better than calling in your opinion?

Thanks in advance

very tuff hand to analyze

on the turn u either jam or fold

because there is to many draw that would bet that way on the turn

i do like ur flat on the flop considering the fact that u consider the vilain agressif

how i woulda play it same way

my reason behind

an agressif player would be agressif on the turn with all their combo draw so i rather raise the turn to make him paid all his combo draw

but the way u play it on the river since u just flat the question here to ask is vilain is capable to bluff on draw board some people do like to bluff them some never MOST OF THE PLAYER DOESNT LIKE TO BLUFF IN THOSE CASE

so the way u pplay it i reevaluate the hand on the river and i think with his bet i would fold there
reason
1- rare people bluff those board
2-blind level still very small
3-u still have a decent stack if u fold

keep posting hand

u have very tuff hand i like that _cool: _cool:

While JTo is normally a defense OOP, I would actually fold here. 28% PFR is low, so you're facing a 3x open about 45 bb deep against a player not raising many buttons (but who does appear fairly aggressive post-flop from the stats you give).

As played the turn is a tough spot, I'm fine with your line of calling turn and folding river. Another alternative is to bet $250 yourself with plan of folding to a shove.

Interesting hand!

Interesting hand!

How can be ever calling turn be profitable? He can continue with bluffs on the river, we will see no good card for us on river. So practically we either calling the turn & river or just folding on turn.

First, sorry about my bad English. lol
This villain started playing very tight but in last hands he was playing very agressive and loose.
On river he bets 3/4 and I call because I hope that he doesn't do this with a flush, I believe that in a flush draw he cbets the flop and bets less on river.
How do you play this hand? Do I have anyway to extract more value? Can I shove this river?
Thank you.

If he's passive you can lead flop too.
Other than that, NH.

Few hands in the SnG, villan played 3 BU. Pre-flop, he minraised 1st hand, 3x 2nd hand, 4x 3rd hand. No showdowns. After the flop he seems pretty agro.

Then this hand came:

Stacks:
Villan: 1700
Hero: 1300

blinds 10/20

Hero is dealt 3 :diamond: 3 :club:

Villan raises 5x to 100, Hero?

I don't think his 5x is necessary strenght, but stacksizes are a litle akward. I don't think I can 3bet fold. 3bet calling is prety marginal.
He's agro PF so calling makes things hard also. Folding is too weak, right?
