deffinitely a variance that u made it up to what you have now

just kidding, sorry but i had to :f_p:

Being mean to me and putting :f_p: at the end does not make it OK. _frown:

Tempting. I may well play some HU SnGs, but probably not with quite such Kamikaze BRM.

Email exchange with PKR customer support
---------------------------------------------------------------

Can you tell me when I can expect my $20 Pokerstrategy bonus for winning 20c to arrive? Thanks

-----------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for contacting the Customer Support Team at PKR.com!

Please find out more on the terms and conditions of the offer here:

http://www.pkr.com/twentyfortwenty

-------------------------------------------------------------

I assume I can read this message as 'You are an asshole. Why don't your read the terms and conditions? It says the money will arrive within the next 7 days', because otherwise you would have replied 'It will arrive within the next 7 days'. Or am I meant to be some sort of mindreader?

---------------------------------------------------------------

I am sorry that the last email did not entirely explain your answer. I can confirm that payouts will be credited to accounts within 7 days of completing the challenge. This was under term number 6 in the terms and conditions of this bonus. I hope this has helped.

I used to stack FR SnGs, but stacking cash games just seems wrong.

Angry, angry old man. :f_o:

The least you could have done was add a " :f_p: to the end of your reply.

would you rather have an unpleasant reply like "asshole, do you know how many of these mails I have to answer every fucking day? Just because of intolerable small stakes players who so desperately need 20$ to shot everything on a stupid sng, I have to sit here and write out the terms & conditions for them, even though they're suposed to read it before taking part of any promotions....." I guess u don't. But then again, being you, maybe you do.

If he made quads, why would he lead out when I'm so likely to bet after standing pat?

I call, it's a kinda meh spot but you need 66% equity to raise given that almost always if he has 5s full beat here he would 3bet you. I don't think we have that. I'd still raise(/call) 8s full just to account for retard tax even though that's close against his repped range.

Yes, well I called and he had quad aces. Cost himself a bet by not check/raising imo. He was probably pissing his pants with excitement and couldn't keep his hands off the bet button. I'd never do that. Oh no. Not me.

I was out giving a talk today, and the train journey gave me the chance to read 'Poker Strategy: Winning with Game Theory' as recommended by EVGalois. I really enjoyed it. The author was a maths professor at MIT and really rather a good writer (written in 1981, sadly died in 1993 aged 66 according Wikipedia). The game he writes about is 5CD, the version with antes instead of blinds. This has a big effect on the strategy as you can check/raise predraw (called sandbagging apparently). He also mainly talks about the pot limit version where you can only open with Jacks or better (so you can check/call with flush draws if you like). In spite of it being a somewhat different game to the one I'm playing, the section on postdraw play is close to being directly relevant, and the whole idea of how you construct your hand ranges in various spots is very enlightening. I will have to mull it over and see if I can apply the same principles to FL 5CD with blinds.

So, having spent so much time today reading about 5CD, tonight I did what any sensible person would do in my position. That's right. I played some Badugi! Today I also read Barry Greensteins 'book' on Badugi. I say 'book' instead of book because I paid £5 for it on my Kindle, and it's about 30 pages long! The clue's in the name. 'The Badugi Chapter'. Doh! Thanks Baz. I expect it'll pay for itself in the end though. I was doing well but ended up break even. Seems like fun. It's a lot like 2-7 TD, but you don't have to fret about making straights, which I find rather irritating in TD. I then played some 5CD and kept getting outdrawn and narrowly beaten and was full housed (Can I use that as a verb?) after being dealt a pat flush. I took it like a man though. :f_cry:

or gained himself an extra bet if he thought you had:

straight (checks behind), some full houses (raise/calls)

Wouldn't you expect those hands to, at worst, bet/fold when checked to? Checking behind with a straight seems close to nil v the typical opponent who will check/call trips+ almost 100%.

Apparently Pokerstrategy's sexy new 'Zynga Poker', I mean 'Poker Sidekick' app only works with Holdem. No kicks for me atm.

I expect I'll live.

I'm sure I read several pages back (no, im not gonna have a look ) that if you reached a ~$250 BR you were going to come back to NLHE SH, because 25 BI is probably enough for NL10?

What's occuring?!
