AAxx 4bet pot pre and postflop?

4 bet preflop is great, but only if you're planning on shoving the flop.

Jam the flop. You have overpair, backdoor flush draw and gutshot straight.

Bet full pot and don't fold if someone raises because your stack to pot ratio is extremely low. I'm never folding this flop considering how much money is already invested in the pot. I only have to win 40% of the time which I am surely doing with my hand.

Worse case scenario is something like this:

However what would be worse is if villain has KK and you just folded the best hand....

Hi Ribbo,

I don't quite agree that QTxx is worst case scenario Can I ask why do we neglect the possibility that the opponent might have top or middle set, OESD or some combination of both - hands such as QQJ9, TTJ9, QQKJ, TTKJ etc. ? Our hand is terrible against these and we only have a few outs - the other 2 aces, a gutshot and the backdoor flush draw..

I am not sure if opponents (moreover from UTG) will go crazy often enough with naked top two pair hand.

When your stack to pot ratio on the flop is a little over 1, betting full pot on one street is not "going a little crazy". It's a completely standard thing to do with a wide range of hands on this flop in the hope that villain folds.

KQJx, KKJx, QTxx, Q3xx, T3xx, JT9x. In fact anyone who hits a pair and thinks Hero has AA here is going to shove and pray he folds.

If you think Hero has aces here, you have enough equity with just 1 pair to justify shoving if you think he might fold his aces.

With this in mind, I am never folding my aces in this spot. In fact i'm going to get my chips into the pot before him since I want him to fold since he has correct odds to call.
