Cheers.

Well even if you haven't sucked out on anyone if you've not been sucked out on yourself you will be running above EV.

Classic example, you get AA in preflop vs Villain's KK. You are 80% to win that so if effective stacks are $10 your EV for that hand will be +$8, and if you win it your green line will be +$10 (- rake obv), therefore you will be running above EV :) Same with winnings flips like AK vs QQ and the like.

Thanks wriggers, that makes complete sense.

Crushing NL20 so far this month. So much so that I REALLY should move up to NL30 at 888. Still haven't got round to upgrading my poker tracker so it stores the hands though.

Decided to move up limits. My bankroll is sitting at like $1080 which is more than 35 buyins for NL30! So I don't really have any excuses. Wish me luck!

Wowww dude.

I haven't checked here for ages cos I've been so busy, but you've come a long way!

Grats on such big steps man, and good luck at NL30. How's it going? Guessing you've been there for a few days now?

hi swanny! first time posting here, weeeee! :f_love: congrats on breaking the 1k milestone!

didn't manage to read the entire blog yet, but wanted to ask, have you been playing in 888 long? has it become reg-infested already?
would really appreciate if you could share your experience and any tips if any.
thinking of depositing and grinding here too. :)

Purple, i'm playing NL10 SH at the moment on 888. Don't worry about it being reg infested, the standard of play is truly awful

Hi purplefizz, thanks for posting! Would agree with what wriggers has already said, NL10 is a pretty poor standard, I was literally shocked after moving over from stars. I'm finding a few more regs at NL30 and will usually recognise 2 or 3 names on most tables. But there is usually a couple of fish playing like 50/5 and things, so not a huge worry.

@jim4rdo- Good to hear from you! I gather you haven't been playing all that much with being busy at uni and whatnot? NL30 isok. Spewed off a lot a couple of days ago though after a combination of tilt and coolers :( Bankroll still sitting above 1k though :)

Was wondering if anyone has much experience with heads up? One of the things I must enjoy about playing with regs is creating weird dynamics and think this would be even more fun heads up. Actually tried playing a little bit on 888 but the people only play me for a few hands and then sit out :( very annoying.

Because i'm a fish :(

Lost a decent chunk of my roll with a large downswing and had to withdraw some so it's only left me enough for NL10 atm

Haha downswing was about $600 on 888 over 25k hands or something, spread out over NL50, NL30 and NL20.

Baaddd downswing

Aye dude, sadly just had no time for much else at the moment apart from uni/placement work, sports and going out. However I've enjoyed it so much I can't say I regret it or anything, it's been good to just take some time away.

However gonna try and get back into things again, I've missed it all! I deposited onto 888 so am trying SH there. Standard isn't great for sure, except I'm just not adapting to it at all :)

C u @ NL30 tables in 2 weeks... aha.

also dude, did you/do you find yourself sitting out loads and find it really annoying posting the blinds @ 888? It's driving me nuts, and i'm just wondering if there's an option I haven't ticked or something similar

yes me too! always sitting out everywhere. then trying to sit in, then sitting out. so confusing, need to get used to it. :f_confused: i've played my first 400 hands there to test the waters. i think i need to open less tables without my table ninja. :(
btw, how is the bonus clearing like? doesnt seem really feasible on NL10. i just want to get bit more settled before moving up.

The sitting out thing bothered me a ton when I first moved there, but I got used to it after a while.

Plus playing on Entraction for a few months made me appreciate how good 888 software actually is

When I only 4 table it's mostly alright, but yeah, so annoying in general. It seems to often mean I have to post the BB again though which sucks, but then I've missed that, so I tick the post blind, which then posts BB as dead money.

I'll get used to it... And bonus clearing isn't amazing for me atm, but that's a lower stake I guess. Only cleared 15% of the first $10 in 1k hands, but I don't know how that translates really.

wow. really haven't posted in a long time. the reason being that I am currently in financial ruin :) well not quite, but pretty close. Ended up withdrawing about $900 of my roll as I felt I was playing so much poker that it was detracting from my studies. I am currently sitting just below a 2:1 in my final year. Need to turn this around. Also I decided I wanted to save some money for summer so put it in an account I can't touch until then :f_confused:

Have a 3000 word essay to do for tomorrow. And have only don e plan so far! So better get cracking. But come tomorrow night I will hopefully have got this finished and will be playing poker for a few weeks over christmas. Going to deposit $250 to 888 and start grinding NL10. Very comfortable I can beat this limit as I have done it before.

Thanks. Euan.
