Today Tomas left for a long trip to Europe (3 months probably) so a sad atmosphere is currently in the house. Good thing though is that now we won't play Dota too much anymore, just deleted the software ♦. This month is gonna be epic grind. Still need like 40k VPP's for my milestone bonus on stars. I think everything till turn is kinda std, against nitty regular you cant go for 3 streets so better to potcontrol the T. Lots of players would just autolead the R but I think there is more value in c/r. We have the best hand 95% of the time+he will bet all of his flushes and some bluffs and we wont get much value from 2p anyways if we lead.

Decided to not chase the milestone bonus anymore and actually to give up on 85% of the future 6-max games. I'm really gonna focus on HU alone.
- I make tons of more money there
- I find it more fun and interesting
- It gives me time to do other stuff while waiting for action (watching videos, reading articles, playing guitar ♦, whatever)
I also wanna spend more time on broadening my knowledge/awareness about just anything. So if anyone has some nice inspirational/knowledgeable videos, feel free to post them here. Or interesting facts like: do you know that there is a dwarf planet between Mars and Jupiter? do you know that the banana is a berry and the banana tree is the worlds biggest herb? Stuff like that :f_biggrin:. Nice songs etc are also always welcome.
Basically I wanna spent more time on non-poker related stuff since I feel that I'm losing lust for the game a little bit.
I will start off with a video I saw today about 'The paradox of choice':
I agree a lot with his standpoints. Last years of my life, I feel that it became hard for me to be overwhelmed with joy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pessimistic person, not at all, I'm happy with my life in general but I have almost no mood swings anymore. I rarely feel sad, I rarely feel superhappy.
Ill give some examples:
- I currently live in the Philippines, make more money than most of my friends, live in a nice climate+place, surrounded by friends every second of the day. Having a cook+maid working for me. There is nothing I have to worry about, yet I dont feel more happy than for example one year ago. Ok, maybe I do feel a little bit more happy :f_biggrin:. However, right now my mind thinks that I was unhappy. Not because I was, but because my mind thinks I should, since my life now seems so much better. Although I'm happy now and I was happy back then. So I got a better living standard, less things to worry about, still I feel equally happy. Probably because I EXPECT things to be like this.
- First weeks I was superhappy with the food the cook made. Now last weeks I don't think it's thats special really. I'm sure though that the quality of the food remained the same, just because I got used to it, I dont enjoy it as much anymore.
- In Thailand we went to Tiger Temple. Before I went there, I read a lot of info about it, saw pics, read feedback comments, etc. My mind built some sort of expectation, probably too high. The trip was cool though, I enjoyed it but I expected that I would enjoy it more. If I would have done the same trip 5 years ago, I would be happy as a child for days. But now I was just like: jup, this is what I expected it to be, cool.
Now, is there a way we can prevent this? Basically, can we force ourself to be happy with the things we got? Being able to enjoy the small things in life, would increase overall happiness of life so much.
