Thinking of doing a 30 BI BRM to start of with and very importantly cashing out half of my winnings when I start moving up limits. I didn't do this before which doesn't work well for me as I need my bank account buffer to feel safe. Poker bankroll does not feel safe.

Kruppe has been experiencing some cashing out of the moneys and losing of the moneys at heads-up,
and has therefore had to play more no-limit thirty. He has now played nearly thirty thousand hands at

Recently I've been making good progress in both BR and confidence.

different way. I never bothered to try out my scheme back then, but I am now
and it seems to be working extremely well. In fact, I've been hatching a new

Wassup guys! Finished exams and stuff so I'm back.
I am learning HU Cashgames and am going to grinding up from scratch for practice and experience! Amazingly I will start from NL2 and move up when I've won 20 stacks at the first couple of limits before switching to a more normal Bankroll Management probably starting at NL10 or NL25.
I intend to incorporate cashing out into my BRM plan an Idea I have stolen from the neat "Stairway to high stakes" I saw Darkzzz start using near the bottom of Page2 on his blog (Clicky if interested. When I get to more normal mistakes I might simply double or triple the figures used on it

Playing HU and not getting anywhere. It feels like I constantly get dealt shit cards and get stacked by uber retards who hit every time. I briefly started running well for a bit for today and instantly get luck-sacked by a random fish, starting timing out of the software and lost 5 stacks.
Maybe eventually I'll stop doing badly ♦
Kruppe has been recovering from an affliction of the heads-up sickness. On tuesday he played nine thousand and five hundred hands at €/$NL50. Two sessions, the first around a thousand hands long, the second eight thousand hands and lasting fourteen hours and two thirds. The second session was so long because there was a player who played against Kruppe on two tables for over seven thousand hands of €NL50 before finally leaving.
The match ended at around 15:00 on wednesday. Kruppe slept, getting up at around three the next morning,
only to sleep again at around eight and get up at four this afternoon. Hopefully his sickness is now fully cured.

i didn't. he was a big fish:
5% fold to 3bet over 7k hands despite me only 3betting 13% or so, i.e. only for value.
only folded to a 4bet ONCE out of about 50 times.
went through tilty phases of 3betting around 40% and to random amounts, anywhere between minimum size and 22bb. also went on monster-tilt for a while, but i was card-dead during these phases.
was extremely readable postflop with obvious bet-sizes, extremely fit-or-fold, extremely passive where he should be value betting, extremely stationy all around, etc. etc.
but it's still possible to lose over 7k hands if you run badly enough. the rake at NL50 is a big factor in that.
Exactly, rake is important. Why you played such a long match against a run good fish is beyond me when you can just stack some other guys.
From my short HU experience I've learned that quitting while behind/not greatly ahead when you are not beating the house is a great skill.

edge-wise the match was fine, a dream-scenario even. what I regret about the match is how it affected me physically. even 6 hours or so before the end I was looking extremely pale, and at the end I felt terrible. I think my circulation was in a very bad state, as evidenced my the fact that after sleeping for 11 hours I only stayed awake for a few hours before sleeping another 8 ohurs.
Yes, you're edge was huge, you felt great and results over 7.5k hands show how you exploited all his massive tells.
Say that out loud and check out how ridiculous it sounds!

Basics -
1)
I have been playing BSS SH on an un-tracked site that I shall of course not name. Made a couple of hudnred by doubling an initial deposit playing some NL5, NL10, and a quick shot where I short-stacked NL100.
2)
Meanwhile I have been struggling with learning HU play at low-stakes on my other site. (Started with just $50) I started at NL2 and won a few buy-ins but then switched to learning HU Sng's to get lower rake. I also played some low-stakes Cash-Games ♦
I ground my way up slowly to $95 on that site before getting doom-switched when I moved up from $1 HU Sng's to $2 HU Sng's. My roll plummeted back down $50, mainly due to losing many pfai's in the sng's with favoured hands ♦
Now I have taught my firlgriend some of the basics of poker and the MSS and decided to try a little bit for fun. It went pretty good and it was great fun relaxing and not thinking so hard. Its only one session and I'm sure some people will laugh at me for posting but I'm rather happy with how well it went. Reminds me of the old days of being an SSS rake-back ho ♠_biggrin:
Very tempted to keep playing MSS for a change and see how it goes. Going back to basics is actually rather fun.
Now we just need an update from Kruppe, will be a lot more exciting methinks.
Hello, everyone. Small update.
I found I had $12 on Neteller and deposited on Stars to try out Zoom for myself. Here is my NL2 gaprth;

Aaaaaaand, I'm running really really shit at NL10. At the end of the graph I lost QQ on Q84 board to KK. (river came up K and I had $4 left into $20 pot), and then I "tilted horribly" by getting QQ in preflop on BTN vs an SB resteal.
Not really any light at the end of the tunnel as far as NL10 is concerned so far. I'm just constantly running like shit and my Full Houses (and one Nut flush) are pretty much running into Quads. I've been Set over Setted 5 times in the last 10k hands and I don't even play any low PP's anymore.
Anywho, its all about winrate. The longer I can stretch out this shot the better it will be (more hands to lose the same amount = better winrate). Maybe I'll even start winning at some point. Looking at some of the variance calculators online its possible to have incredibly long break-even stretches even with a good potential winrate.
