AK/AQ.

They're just difficult to play unless you get it all in pre/flop TPTK

In online poker JJ is probably a pretty annoying hand to play with, they look good but aren't actually good and should probably just be treated like TT.

In live poker where there's more fishy AJs is super troublesome. You open your range against fishes that play Ax, K7s+,etc. and next thing you know an A comes on the flop suddently fishes raises your bet....

I think there is some falws in this thinking. If we have an aggro fish and he c/raises A26 then it is very different to a really passive fish raising a89.

Similarly to JJ, I don't see where the problem comes from everybody hating them, if we plays vs our opponents range and with reads on their aggression factor we should still be able to make +ev decisions that we are happy about.

Also getting JJ in pre vs maniacs and/or aggro regs is something I enjoy too.

I think if there is a problem with any pocket pair then it is probably 9's as its very borderline value/get all in OR set-mine in close spots.

Well everything in poker is opponent dependant, I wouldn't go into details of the 2 scenarios that I said but of course you always need to adjust etc. I get your point too.

Basically with AJs is a hand that looks good live because you want to play a little more loose to have more fun (well I do anyways) and it can be very troublesome when an A comes on the flop because your kicker is weak and if you raised with it you don't want to play big pots and it ends up being touchy in some spots.

P.S : Even at the casino the best you get with shoving JJ preflop is a flip with AK / AQs or you are dominated by QQ KK. We are talking with a big stack here and some 3 betting / 4 betting action.

It's just all so player dependent, against tight players then ofc, but its the same as online, I don't think we should say live is X or online is Y. Each has players that we should be adjusting against.

For example at Gib. a guy stuck 300bbs in AIPF this week with 63o, with Jacks I was fistpumping

Anyway, /thfeadhijac
