Depending on skill quotient and how fast you can achieve the quotient needed to attain such a goal,i would say,depending on some blogs and challenges of similar starts and goals,3-6 months.It could be less,it could be more.Variance and all that sweet stuff.
Strategy,i don't know,i'm in an unknown territory,as i haven't played any variants other than CG,that reached some sort of serious volume,but not even close to serious volume by today's standard.I would say 180 man's?SnG's?
Tried it?No.I think it's a bad idea as a beginner.It's also a bad idea if you are poor.The reasons for this are psychological,because the challenge can turn from "25 to 1000 dollars" to "Ways to bust your roll really,really fast".One reason might also be that you would concentrate on volume rather than education and growth as a player.

3 weeks.
1) 20 table stars $0.25 45-man SnG's to $60.
2) 20 table stars $0.50 45-man turbo Sng's to$130
3) 20 table NL$5, switch to NL5euro @ 130 euro to 300euro ($400ish)
4) 20 table NL$10 till $1000
Can stitch to 9 table NL $25/25 euro if need to, 20table NL10 more producative though.
On the assumption i have no life for 3 weeks (6 solid days a week grinding) 1 off to re-charge battrys.
Can also grind to $1600 in 10 minutes on roulette if i put it all on red every spin for 6 spins ♠_cool: <<<Alot simpler
Someone I know off another forum did it in around an hour just by spinning the fucker up. Obv he then snap withddrew $400 of it and blew the rest on PLO HU.

ı did that in 7-8 hours 2.5 dollars buy in rebuy mtt finished second place won 450 dollars and then couple hours playing 5-10 cash game and finished a day in my pocket more than 1000 dollars in same day.
However long it takes me to win a $22 tournament. I then use the extra $3 to buy a McDonalds burger. EZ game.
