Shows how important is to make VOLUME goals.

But I take it this way - I promised myself to take "holiday" after the SN challenge and to make only platinum or something like that (7,5k VPPs). So this run actually helping me to get some rest and be lazy, watch some stupid movies and so on
I also realized how poker changed me. Since teenage years I was very lazy, flegmatic guy - I did weed, I partied and stuff, never had problems at school, went to colege, partied...thn I realized I want something else and I tried 4 different colleges, but learning and all this bullshit was just never for me - never had that feeling like it is usefull and it has some meaning and so on. Playing poker changed me - I finally do have goals, I like to study,I like to improve, I see the meaning and so on...am so greatfull for this - that I found myself the profession I love and I dont need to obey every single ridiculous rule of bosses and byrokracy and all that shit that come along with "regular" job...I am master of my time, I am my own manager and I am the only one responsible for all the good things and the bad things....AND I LOVE IT. Furthermore I can give myslef and the $ to my family I LOVE.

Holy shit :f_o: could you possibly be an evil twin?? Basically the story of my life besides the fact im still working on getting them $$

jason, I think it is a story of more ppl thn we can imagine. By more ppl I mean more poker players. For example my best friend and a poker pro is about the same. And we met just about 3 years ago...
I guess for being good at poker u need some qualities that u can train, but I think u have to have them before, coz u wouldnt have the motivation and so on to the training So poker pros might have many same qualities in general...

Very true, they have done a personality test in several big forums and the majority of poker pro's had the same personality type.

I suppose so,if you really think about it the poker community is full of degens lol .Or maybe its just the world in general and people just grow up and grow out of it who knows :f_confused: .Me personally I just got sick of all the partying/drugs/drink etc. I think the gym was a major factor in keeping me disciplined and motivated in life/poker.

Hehe :)
Well everything has some limits. At high school I was too high - lol it is like a poem No, really, I had to quit coz I had some good "silver" friends and I wanted to do sports and so on. At college I was too drunk - but everybody is, right? Plus I loved weekends and techno parties (techno died, so...) I wasnt sick off it I just suddenly stopped everything and had like few months koma...thn I met my wife...weeee - it was my impulse, poker, baby, quitting school, movin to our place and so on - it just came along :) Now I feel really good - have a job, have a family, have a place to live (rented, but ours :)) and I am doing something I enjoy + pays bills + hopefully something extra - if not, I would have to quit and hate my life... _grin:
For the gym - lot of players works out, I hate it. I love sports and I did lot of them on some level, but now it is hard to get ppl to do something in collective regularly - works, children, wifes... So am looking for some soccer/volleyball w/e thing.
In the mean time I just bough XBOX 360 - problem solved, I ll buy FIFA and play with my friends online :D :D

Poker - playing higher volume finally, did 20table today and was OK, results also. Going to play one more set, so I can play some FIFA tomorow...LOL j/k...maybe...

Hey!

January is the past, time to sum up.

Plan for this month was to relax after SN challenge at the end of the 2011 and thn play around 10 tables, table select, mark hands, play for max value and so on...Well, I did relax maybe one day I was so looking forward to play with less tables and lobby was full of fishes, so I did play around 10-15 tables, few hours a day. I enjoyed it a lot. I found few leaks, I get more confidence in certain spots and run pretty good. After making some nice profit I became lazy. I am glad that I was lazy actually - I did finally relax But it cant happen another months, I cant miss the train if I wanna make 200k VPPs. This month I made just 8,500VPPs. At the end of the month I tried to play higher volume but tables were very reg infested as regs were chasing VPPs goals, so it wasnt really ideal, but u know, rakeback is needed ;)

Here is the graph and numbers:

:spade:Tournaments: 1,600
:spade:Profit: 3,263$
:spade:Hours: 88,7
:spade:ABI: 15,38$
:spade:ROI: 13,3% (11,4%)
:spade:Total profit with bonuses: 4,290$
:spade:Hourly: 48,4$

I am very very happy about this month and am in love with my red line _love:

In February I wanna make 15-20,000VPPs. I will be mixing days when I ll be table selecting a lot + studying + enjoying the game with days when I ll massgrind. I ll be mixing in some 30s, but am not moving up if am able to make such a nice hourly at these stakes - will see obviously, I can adapt to any situation.

GL GUYS!

Milan, wtf, man! Great month! Don't take it wrong, I am very happy for you, ma man! Do you know what's interesting? I had a conversation with playersvk few weeks ago, a bit after I came back to play on ps. I asked him why keeps on grinding the 15s and doesn't move up. He told me he makes 50$ an hour and that's more than what he can achieve playing mid stakes or even high stakes. Well, he has a point :) So do you. Maybe I have to reconsider my plans :P

But, once again, enjoy the great results and have fun :)

THX Joe! ;)

kurrkabin, m8, I cant take it wrong ;) Btw playersvk had around 30/hour last 6 months when he was plying same games, but still. Another think, why I dont wanna move up is that I want to have much higher bankroll, so I wont be affected with swings that will be in thousands of dollars :/ - check lessthanthrees recent graph. Even if I get a very nice deal from the backer, I still dont think I need it, so I ll grind and grind and when I wont be able to make nice profit for few months I ll reconsider. For me it makes sense to move up and grind SNE - thn it might be worth it, but for example to move up to 30s is meaningless for me...will see ;) GL!

How is possible to achieve even 10% roi?Do you think is still possible while you playing 20 tables?Which do you think are the 5 most common leaks of a 2% regular of 15$ games? How important do you think is game selection in 15$?

ulairiiii - well it is possible with table selection as u can see - but ofc it is very small sample. I believe it is possible playing 20 tables - I checked HEM data and I was on average 16-tabling these 1600 games. I think these data aint absolutely correct, but I did have 15 tables open at usual, last days more. Will see next month when I plan to make 3,000+ games if the ROI will drop significantly. Table selection is very important, I am workin on mine and so far so good. Common leaks - I cant simply answer it, I would be able to answer it if I had some HHs and did coach this person or so...

Can you tell me how you table select?

I tend to mark players like this:

-1% till 1% roi = breakeven
2-3% roi = winning
4% + big sample = good player

I will join any game with 3 players of 2% roi + and one breakeven player
I will maybe join any game with 4 winning players and all the other fishes(not breakeven)
I will unregister with 4+ winning players

Opinion?

ulairiiii - yes I pretty much mark players the same. There are not many players that have solid sample 5k+ games on certain format and solid winnings, so I definitely wanna know as much as possible about them. There are lot of multitablers with not enough samples. There are some BE players who are easily exploitable and thn there are fishy players and unknowns. I try not to play with too many solid players or BE/multitabling players, but it differs - are there fishes or unknows? Do I know this BE player is easy one? Are there better tables? And so on...I simply pick the best tables possible from 7-30 stakes...

lessthanthree - thank you very much, sir! It means a lot u stopped by ;)
