Oi. Don't think like that. Ofc its worth to make you understand. And you are by no means stupid, miss! Quite the opposite really. Don't let other people affect how you see yourself, and there are things not worthy of discussion, but I doubt your questions/ideas would be in this category.

Chin up, i'm in for discussion anytime. :)

I was reading some articles latetly from several sources, in which people try to analyse where else could poker go in the future. Of course there are some issues, what everyone sees the same, but I think there is something, what some maybe forgot, or didn't even considered.

Everyone talks about that the poker market is shrinking, since the USA players are off, and a lot of markets are regulated, basically the same few nation clashes on the virtual felts. But do you also think about guys, that you still just talk about the 50% of the potential market?

Why noone considers women as a possible source of new players? I dont think so, that the reason is that because women are not interested in poker. They are interested. If women are interested in fencing, in basketball, in football, than they are interested in poker also. The biggest problem is, that mostly they dont know how to start out. Noone discribes them how to play online poker, how to sign up at a room which offers a good deal, actually they dont even know what kind of opportunities are on the internet. I know tons of chicks who are playing in home games with friends, and I'm pretty sure they would do it online also, if they would know how to start out. I meet every week ladies playing live poker in the poker clubs, who are the age of my mum (50+), or young girls, who are coming with the boyfriend, and just watch them playing, because they arent sure about themselvs so much, that they would sit insta to the table. But they are also there for some reason.

Or if they arent interested yet, than think about how to make them interested. There are tons of opportunities out there, how to find the way to the ladies. Did you thinked ever about, if a women gives a birth to a child, than she is locked down at home for some very long months, doing nothing more than taking care of the baby. You think she dont needs fun? Oh men, she needs it...and yes, playing online poker even on NL2 or in play money, can give the thrill for them and make them feel alive.

Of course most of the ladies wants also this excitement, maybe the motivation is different. You cant approach women with the slogan "Challange yourself"...they challange themselvs everyday. Why noone tries to approach them with the classical form, to give them the impression, that they can be part of the "club", meet people with the same interes, and have fun. Or that here is something called poker, with what you can spend your time, have fun, learn something new, and maybe be very succesfull in it.

I think women could be the perfect source for the next generation recreational players. They also have money, willing to deposit, and they are also kinda fishy for now, so they would deposit a lot. If I would have the chance, to start a new poker skin, I would definetly take a look on how to attract women players to my site. I would set up a little marketing team who only cares about the femal players, with the main goal to attract as much women as possible. And if i have to talk to them like a woman, than i would... No wonder that men, working in the industry dont know how to make this.

PokerStars opened up latetly for this segment, and dedicates effort with special promotions and back up for female players, but they also just cocentrate on players who already has some kind of knowledge.

I think, there is a potential on educating the ladies about poker in general, make them understand at first, that this is not gambling like roulette, and than show them what are the opportunities. Belive me, they would be thankfull for this.

So what you're trying to say is women are dumb and can't figure out how to use a computer and play online poker?

I didnt said that women are dumb, but I'm pretty sure that a huge percentage dont knows how to start out playing online poker. Of course not the 18 years old segment who got raised with computers since they just borned.

I know it from my own experience also, that when i first signed up at a poker room years ago, it happend because i saw a tv advertising from one of the sites, and got interested. I knew how to deposit money, and basically this was all what i knew about it. I didnt even knew how to play corretly poker, this equaled that i lost kinda much money there in some months. But i enjoyed every cent i spent on it :f_cool: i was thrilled, and i wanted to play all the time.

I think the problem is in women's brains. Gambling isn't coded there as strong as it is in men's brains. That's why most of the gambling and poker customers are men.

But then again, in Finland, the biggest group that plays slot machines (we have over 19K slot machines across the country, in almost every shop, gas station etc) are elder ladies. I don't know if it has something to do with the stuff in their childhood and their generation. But 18-40y women doesn't really gamble.

It would be very difficult to find a way to motivate them to do something that they don't naturally want. I mean, if they would like to play poker or play slot machines online, they would do it already.

(firstly, sorry I didn't read the whole blog yet).

BUT I beg to disagree here. I do know women who like to gamble. Quiiite a bit.

I don't really know women who would gamble their life away though (as some men literally do). But then again... men blow their "life bankroll" on mistresses, expensive cars/motorcycles/boats, and all sorts of dumb and idiot stuff. Why not gambling as well?

What I mean is: I don't think gambling is the issue here. To me, there seems to be something else that makes women screw up much less than men in life - gambling included.

(but yes, you do have a good point as I do know old ladies who would throw all their pension away in bingo or slots. Indeed, not younger ones. But I think the old old ladies do have a feeling of "I'm gona enjoy 120% now while I can since I'll be dead/disabled soon anyway - and they do have a point there)

Actually here in Vienna, a lot of ladies go to poker club, but one trend shines through kinda much here also: a big percentage is asian. Wow guys, they love to gamble, they go crazy on the table, cuz for them poker is a kinda easy game, so they dont rly take the effort to learn it, they just love to go all in i will look for some pics laters, kinda funny

For bingo-grannies, I don't think it's about purely enjoying life. In Finland (where we have unique situation due to 19K+ slot machines) the biggest group in addicted gamblers are elder. Instead of fun and joy, they are addicts.

Of course there are women who like poker, slots and gambling. As there are men who don't like them. But in general, I think that most of the women are not interested in those.

It's like trying to promote scent candles to men. Surely, some of them might buy it, but it won't be a highly profitable company.

Lifetilt is keep on going, for the pleasure of variety I've got ill on the weekend, and managed to have a 40°C fever over the last days. I don't really remember when I was so ill last time, it's kinda wierd that the body simply forsakes and goes with the muscle ache, head ache, cold sweat and shivering... I wan't even able to get up from the bed for some time, this is kinda scary.

Did you know, that when you get a virus which makes you cold, than actually your body tricks you big time? It starts to produce a protein called "interferon" which is meant to be fight against the virus attacked the body, and alarm the other cells about the virus attack. But it gets overproduced, the body gets a so called "interferon-infection" and this makes the typical symptoms such as high fever, week muscles, head ache ect. and not the virus. And the sad thing is, that most virus is immunitic against the interferon, so basiclly your body don't helps, but inhibit the immunsystem from healing you. Nature is so tricky...

If there is a week in the year which is important for me, than this one is it, i always try to make it the best, but right now i have to fight with this illnes, and beside it some veryvery nerv-racking official things i also have to take care about. I feel i runned out of energy completly, booth mentally and phisically.

It would be so easy if we would be in the Matrix, and I could just download some software update for my brain and wash out all these negative things for now...
