Hand vs fish. I should probably 3b the flop but I just called Turn is weird but I beat there only like 56 or some slowplayed overpair. 3b flop/ship T if only called would be way better

Villain is 35/18/35 after 58 hands. That was just a shitty spot. I thought the way he played it is more likelythat he has sth like 78,89, TJ and sometimes 9T combos. We were both like 150bb eff. Should I just snap fold here??

quick opinions from my perspective, you can figure it out yourself I think:

1. It's a hand he doesnt like to go all-in with pre so perfectly JJ, you would play AA/KK on this flop different so you do exactly what he wants..

2. Read dependent

3. Paired board on Flop = lower EV general than if it was 76x board
so even though you get 4:1 (6:1) implieds, there are some % you are dead

4. Just fold FLop, he cbets into 2. River is a blank but dont expect him to bluffshove >30% so I think relative vs absolute hand strength = fold

5. Raise Turn? I don't think CO can fold + you dont want to see a 3,J,Q,K & spade (=20 cards!)

6. ok

7. what you wrote below about F+T play

8. ''I thought the way he played it is more likelythat he has sth like 78,89, TJ and sometimes 9T combos. '' wtf?? only monsterdraws would maybe c/shove and then again combinatorics dictate this play, fold

It seems that my comeback to nl sh games started with fallstart. So it is time to reevaluate before something wrong will happen.

Plan for todays sessions:
 folding more!!!

I still have leggopoker and cardrunners subscriptions so before my session will start with some vids (James Ma FTW).

Need to reconsider my gameplan hopefully it will turn the way I want.

My current results on Pokerstars fr games don't look too good either:

Run like shit escpecailly on € tables which is suprising cause they are way more fishy.

Ok, on your latest batch of hands.
1. Yes, you have an SPR approaching 1, and I don't think it's easy to let go here. But just shoving the flop tells him what hand you have. I think just c betting smaller or check-calling are both better lines, yeah.
2. Yeah it all depends if he is that type of guy that shoves rivers hopeless. I think you betrayed yourself here. I call this one for spew. I wouldn't make that call, particularly when you can stack this clown in less than 20 hands
3. I would probably play this the same as you
4. You know this one. Find that fold button.
5. I've made this one before, it is usually always caused by greed. Keep the fish in, sure. Seriously man, stick the chips in when it counts.
6. Pretty standard.
7. Another raise by you would be a 4-bet, I believe. Yes, you should 4-bet and lead turn.
8. Only someone like me would shove those paired combos at you. Even then... You're just too deep. I think you can find a fold here with these stack sizes for sure.

Sometimes poker makes me hate myself and today is the day. I was crushed and smashed lost every retarded pot possible. I do it for a living but I don't know if I want anymore. I just cant win and it happen again for me. Just I am winning for a while like couple of months and then always come a month when I am just doomswitched. It is really painful experience I can't even look at cards today. FML
I know what the tilt is and control just every time I have 50k hands+ break even stretch or loosing 20-30BI due to dowsning I feel horrible.
Every bluff called, every blufff catch they have it, every decision bad and it is like that over and over again...

Hang in there buddy. I told you I'm going to be following you. There are going to be bad days, months and years. You know this. It's why everyone else goes broke. They can't push through the pain barrier and keep playing well. Maybe this will cheer you up. I was doing quite well this month. I was up 7 buy-ins of 25BB at fixed limit this month. Yes, I grind MTTs, SNGs, NL and FL. It's all the same to me. I like all forms of hold em. Okay, so I'm up 7 buyins to start the month in the first few days, and now....... it's 19 days into the month and I am now DOWN 13 buyins! I'm down like almost 2k. After rakeback I'm probably close to breakeven. The last week has been brutal and my AA has held up less than 70% in HU pots FML. My KK has run bad too. I do attribute most of my losses to that. My strong draws are also never getting there this month, which has probably been the most frustrating thing. 15 outs is not enough! I looked at my stats last night after I logged off. I checked my stats, everything seems very normal really, except for the all the total dollar figures are in red, not green! Maybe I need another opinion on my stats! But really, I think I have just ran like crap. I don't think the games have been hard. Others at my level probably do though, I don't know. More importantly, if I was playing bad I don't think stats are going to show much of this. I'm gonna do a lot of session reviewing tmrw but today I'm going to play more. Every day for the last seven days I have felt like you say but my girlfriend encourages me and we push through it. I pulled a 21 hr session yesterday which most would say is unhealthy. The games were good though, so why stop? Put in the work, and get rewarded. Maybe today is going to be another suck day, I don't know but I certainly am not going to give up in despair. Always remember, no matter how bad you run, someone is running colder! Might do more tourneys next week. I crushed $30SNG last month all over the place. Sometimes when you run bad it helps to go back to something with that gives you confidence. You need to get your confidence. I'm ranting now but you make me worried with posts like your last. Seeya at the tables.

Wow exactly what Jared Tendler portrayed of someone who thinks he is in control but actually is not. Study Mental Game of Poker and you will laugh at this statement after you have finished studying it.

You got a good benchmark now with the thing I quoted.

I took a 2 days break from poker. It seems that I have serious issues with beating 6-max games. My river call efficiency is like 0,09 so far ?( _cry:
I work really hard on my game watch cardrunners and leggopoker vids along with some pokerstrategy vids, try to review my game and it all for nothing.
I don't know why it is like that. The games seem to be quite soft I table select and yet I don't get action when ahead. Started posting hands in the hand evaluation forum and started reading Jared Tendler book.
Just my edge seems to be not existent and it sucks. I need to improve really fast or my 6-max staking will end up sooner than anyone could think.

How many hands did you played in this period? Yes, I rest my case

Read page 94 & 127 onwards, that's exactly what you need

I played like 8k hands so far. Tommorow should do first update after 10k hands I hope,
I will read that part of his book however so far after reading I feel like all of the tilt issues somehow connect with me :(.
Will it be ok for you if I update it here or you want to check it via skype or so??

This is the equivalent to saying "I need to win money really fast." That's just not how things happen.

I am sure about that it won't. I meant more that my fr game and sh games are 2 different things. There is completely different dynamic of the game in shorthanded games. So basically I have to relearn 6-max poker and do some adjustments cause there is many spots that I think I am bleeding money. It might not be the case in fr poker where ranges are more face up and people way more honest and that makes it overall less complicated.
there is way more situations in 6-max games where I am not sure about my decision than in fr games. However it might be due to fact that I simply lack of knowledge so basically in reality it might be simple decision while for me it is difficult.
It could be a downswing but I was hitted really hard and think that it is safer assumption that it was due to my leaks (so basically I have to start fixing it really fast, at least fast enough to beat nl50sh and I will move from that)

Gotcha. Didn't realize you had the two separate things going on. Sounds like a much better setup that way then :)

Dude, you sound stressed. The fact that you think you have FR mastered but think your 6-max game isn't on point alarms me. I am going to have a play of nl100 6max, maybe some nl50 today. I might try party, but ill def do some stars work tonight, and some ipoker, ive got a nice 1500 bonus there. I'll keep grinding and hopefully hit an early march supernova.

I think you're maybe just in a bit of a downswing if you're honest about being a winning player. I was having a really nasty 14stack downswing but the other day came roaring back to take all 14 stacks in one day and earn a few hundred bucks in bonuses to boot. This was in 3/6 FLSH, mind you. It seemed so easy and I still had numerous bad beats in that day too, like me on the button capped 99 v bb 88, and the flop comes 988.....capped every street. Just goes to show the luck can turn. My big Ax hands hit and held up all day though, and the games were soft.

The luck will turn. I thought the players that play fullring profitably but can't play 6max were unimaginative nits? Ok I'll play some NL 6max and tell you how I go. Keep us updated on your progress.

Nah I am a winning player. I diddn't want to post my screeenname but it is mecen@s on pokerstars:
PTR1
Before black Friday I was playing on Ultimatebet:
PTR2
It doesn't track all of my hands cause I have played like 2x what they have tracked. After Black Friday I was playing ENET/888 network with solid results. Just this month is really bad. I started to play full ring games due to solid downswing on ENET in November/December where I lost like 25BI in 30k hands and just couldn't won anything. So I tried to escape from variance but in reality you can't.
So I have to focus on things that I can change. I can always improve as a player biggger winrate=smaller swings=less tilt.
Still I am pretty sure that I am way better full ring player than 6-max player. For some reason I understand those fgames way better.
It is one of the reason I decided to take a staking deal from Gerv to play 6-max games. Firstly it decrease my risk of ruin secondly while he is now Omaha player he was long time nl holdem coach here and he had been playing 6-max games quite a bit.

Yeah I am stressed quite a bit cause I moved to another apartment and had hell of expenses. Just one important lesson I got from this is that you should never ever plan your profit from poker.

Good blog, you look alot like me and I look alot like you. Going to post some short stuffs.

I was also a very solid winning player and keep improving game along with a coach. It worked well for 4-5 months, nice winrate (NL25) and my game is growing better and better. So before I was about to start move up to NL50 (with 70 stacks because I know variance is gay), during my last month of NL25 I had a downswing of almost 40BI. This lasted about 1,5 month. Although a few buyins were tilt, most of my decisions were solid. I too was in a situation where it felt like I've landed into Hell. So your not alone. You probably know that downswing doesn't exist but we still use it. If you've been running 40BI below EV for the past month it doesnt mean you will run better the upcoming month(s). Thats the reality of poker.

Besides that I'm actually one of the few that agrees on your post on verneer's blog. We need fish because they are much more +EV than regs. Sure we can beat regs by studying more etc but the winrate will be much lower than recreational players and we have to put alot of effort into studies.

About your hand histories:
Alot of them same to mine, they are either good played or bad played in form of tilt/overplayed.

One question for you: how many tables do you play per session, both SH and FR.

OK so my nl play went ok. Got button aces in fullring all folded..other than that very boring and nothing but nits. Found some games in 6max and played LAGstyle. Stacked a few LAGs under fortunate circumstances(backdoor flush v hands they should have folded anyway etc) Mostly cos they were 3betting me with A6o from the sb etc. douchey type stuff, floats gone wrong. Another TAG decided to check HUOOP with KK flopped set of kings, allowing me to see cards with my oesd and backdoor flush him LOL.

Had to hop off 6max and get a breather now before tilt as I just got 4bet by tight reg on BT, after i 3bet another tight reg in UTG from the cutoff. This is despite the fact I know I have a relatively low fold to 3 and 4b value. Such a stupid reg. I figure he had air and I was right, I looked him up with 99. Nice board to call down his barrel, which I do. River is a 9 which I CR obviously, problem being it is the 3rd club, and guess what he shows me? 6 of clubs, 4 of clubs. Yeah fck you too I thought. Normally I'd be unaffected but I also 4 bet a reg on the button with AK, he was UTG, smash my ace on the flop, get it in, and have him show me AJs and turn a jack...

Think tmrw ill leave nl50 alone and play MTTs and SNGs in the lead up to the red spade open, still up for the session but left disappointed.

I left you a PM too

I guess it is common misconception and that's why so few people undersand my thought process in regards to fish.
Poker isn't like egaming cause in egaming competitivness>profitablility while in poker profitablity>competitivness.
Simply if you could choose to play on a table full of fish or full of Phil Ivey's everyone would choose fish.

If it was so simple that as long as you get better (faster than the curve) you get the action I wouldn't bother myself posting in verneer's blog.
The problem is that every reg plays for profit (pre or after rakeback) so in the game with no fish there would be no action cause weaker regs wouldn't play (cause there is no profit for them to be made)
Just as an example I am according to PTR one of the biggest winners in bb/100 on nl50fr on Pokerstars. If i try to start tables only very few regs are willing to give me an action. I don't care who I play againns I don't table select at all. Yet people refuse to play cause profit>competing
The more fish>the more tables>the more action you can get.
It is that simple. If the amount of fish would decrease rapidly the amount of tables/action would decrease almost equal amount.

I usually play 18 tables fr and 9 tables sh. That's is pretty much my standard amount of tables
