Yo guys!
So, as you might know, some SnG guys got together for some partying and stuff in Muenster, Germany. It was an absolutely amazing trip, and even though I'm damn tired , I would love to repeat it like right now.
So, I took a plane to Eindhoven where I've met Kurrkabin on the airport. We've took a train together to Muenster, 3 changes, we screwed up the first one - actually, it wasn't really our fault but I don't want to go into too many details, so long story short: things were in Dutch
- so we had a nice 6+ hour trip instead of our nice 4 hour trip.
So, we arrived at Münster, and man, the station was so fucking broken down that Captain Kurrk and I got seriously worried. But as it turned out in a few minutes, they were just renovating and the town itself is an amazing place. So anyway, we met Demonic at the station, found our hostel - it was a nice place - and went to a bar to drink something. Had a few beers, had a nice conversation, I mean we were all damn tired, but we've just met each other so we wanted to talk a bit. It was fun.
Next day we walked around town, taking some pictures and stuff, nothing special, but man, it's really a great place. One of the few places where a huge crowd didn't annoy me at all, actually I liked it. Seriously, this place was way above my expectations. Well done, Münster.
So, we had some food somewhere and then I think we returned to the hostel to talk a bit, but my memories are a bit blurry actually... Long story short, we got dressed up nicely, took a cab to the Heaven restaurant - got screwed by about one euro I think
:f_biggrin:.
The place was pretty awesome, but it was hard to get a detailed first impression with all those free pokerstrategy.com stressballs. Man, they are good. Also, some good quality poker cards with pokerstrategy.com logo and all.
Also, we were lucky enough to meet Tim right at the cloakroom, who turned out to be an extremely nice guy, actually even nicer than what he sounded like. Seriously, I didn't think that was possible, but it turns out I still have things to learn. And of course the plus one of such a nice guy was a very nice lady, commonly known on these forums as "Mrs. Tim64".
So, we've found a nice place to sit, and we've also got our hands on some stressducks - which is basically like stressball v2.0 or something -, and started some good conversation, which lasted hours along the dinner. As for the dinner, I was gonna say "nice salad, amazing veal, very good dessert", but Tim has had it covered a bit more thoroughly
so I'd suggest you guys check out his blog for more info! It really was a good dinner in my opinion.
So around 11pm, the tables and seats were mostly removed, opening some space for a dancefloor. Music started, people started pouring in, and we've had some use of our nice drink chips (I think I should've saved one for memories, but it's too late now). So, there is nothing really to say about these hours, it was drinks and music and party and people I guess, but we had a really great time (at least I did ♠_cool: ).
I think we got home somewhere around half past 4 or 5, or something similar, with the comfortable thinking of going to sleep, but actually we were marching on a suicide mission. The guy who had the bed by the window - commonly known as "Demonic" on these forums - decided that he will sleep with the window open in -10 C. Next day morning when we screamed for help he claimed that he asked us but somehow no one remembers that. Anyway, miraculous as it sounds, we actually have slipped by death somehow.
So on Sunday, we took a long walk around town, discovered more and more common greatnesses - like nothing serious, just some amazing suburb-looking streets and stuff - and also a pretty great lake that was frozen with those lots of people skating and walking on it. It was very good.
I don't really remember the rest of the day, but I'm pretty sure it involved some talking, drinking, and a friendly spanish (half-spanish?) bartender.
Next day was pretty much about talking (oh, and drinking beers). Don't get me wrong now, we talked like a huge ton these few days, so it's not like nothing happened, and it definitely wasn't boring or anything, there is just not much to say
Anyway, this night - Monday - we went out to meet Mr. and Mrs. Tim64 at some restaurant, where I've met some unfriendly Germans - which was surprising, and that's a good thing - , but we chose the bar on the other side of the street instead. It was a rather modern one, I'd say, and we've had some wheat beers for a change. It was good, but it's not really my thing.
So, after these lovely English people went to have dinner a couple of hours later, we decided to check out the bar we went the previous nights. We did, we were drinking beer and stuff, but it was special this time because the bartender was a really nice girl (not the one who served us on Sunday tho), and we got friendly and we actually could stay after closing hours, had a few free shots and also a conversation that I think was a good one, but some of it was in German so I'm not 100% sure.
Then, we left for the hostel as the nice bartender had to leave with her last bus, around 1:30 or something. It was a pretty good night alltogether, seeing Mr. and Mrs. Tim again, and then a really nice time at that bar.
By the way, there was this local beer, Veltins - well, not exactly local, but it is brewed somewhere relatively nearby - so if any of you guys are into beers, maybe you should try it. My father is sort of a "beer fan", so I brought him a few bottles, and he really liked it.
So, next morning was Tuesday, which sucked big time, because it was leaving time. Demonic didn't really get out of the bed, but that's understandable, he was feeling sick, so we just shook hands and departed with Kurrkabin after breakfast. We got pretty friendly during these few days, so I wanted to give a hug to this Demonic guy, but he didn't have enough clothes on for my standards, so I rather went for a handshake. All my virtual hugs to you tho, sir!
As I was saying, Kurrkabin and I departed for Eindhoven. Everything went smooth with the trains this time. We got a little bit screwed by our hostel, but I really don't want to go into details, because I've had a great time and I don't want to be complaining about anything, basically.
Eindhoven was a bit empty first, being Tuesday, then we have found some places, but they weren't really our thing. We still had a good time tho, but it's already a big wall of text and there is nothing really interesting to say anymore. Eindhoven was a very nice town tho, it was just a bit empty (I mean, it was Tuesday after all :)).
So, I hope it wasn't too long, if you've got this far, you will be rewarded:
As the name tags mildly suggest, from left to right: Kurrkabin, myself and Demonic.
Well, there are name tags, but for the sake of it, from left to right: Mrs. Tim64, Mr. Tim64, akrammon and Demonic.
Thanks for making this dinner and party so good, pokerstrategy.com! Thanks for being such a wonderful town, Muenster! And thanks to you guys for being such a great company!
