Get Rich or Die Tryin'

The Bankroll Challenge

Dear members,

We are happy to introduce you our newest motivational promotion - The Bankroll challenge. It's purpose is to make you set and reach goals, as well as build your bankroll!

How can I participate?

• There is a single condition in order to participate - you must create / maintain an active blog.

• This promotion is not time restricted - can join the promo at any time - you just need to opt in in this thread, putting the following info:

- Link to your Blog on PokerStrategy.com

- Your starting Bankroll

- Your goal - the bankroll you would like to reach

• The minimum goal is set at $1000 and you need to increase your bankroll by at least 5 times.

• You can increase your bankroll with:

- winnings from the poker tables

- bonuses and rakeback

- prizes won from poker promos

• Every Monday, every participant must write in his blog a weekly report, including:

- number of played hands / tournaments

- weekly bankroll movements in USD or EUR

- Current bankroll

- How many weeks he has participated in the promotion

• After creating this post in your blog you must copy it as a new post in the following thread:

https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=1953483#post1953483

What can I expect from this challenge?

We will release a weekly news with the current results of all participants in the promo. It will contain a ranking of all players with their bankroll increase in %. Depending on that increase participants will have different ranks.

Whenever a participant reaches his goal, he will enter a special "Hall of Fame" and will get a 1 month status increase (minimum to Gold).

He can then decide to re-enter the promo with a new goal.

In case a participant misses a weekly report, he will get a warning. If he misses a second weekly report, he will be out of the challenge and can re-enter after 4 weeks, starting with a new bankroll and goal.

A participant can request up to two weeks of holidays by posting it in his blog and in this thread. In that case there will be no warnings on missed reports.

Why should I participate in this challenge?

There are several reasons as to why you should participate:

- Competition leads to motivation - you will always have your goal in mind and will know why you are playing poker

- You and your blog will get more famous in the community as we will mention the most notable participants in our news

- You can get status upgrades and other surprises from PokerStrategy.com

Ranks in our Challenge
Rang % of goal reached Rang % of goal reached
Rang 1 0% or down Rang 7 51% - 60%
Rang 2 1% - 10% Rang 8 61% - 70%
Rang 3 11% - 20% Rang 9 71% - 80%

Do you allow taking part in this promo and the analogous promo of the Russian community at the same time? Do you allow entering this promo with a greatly reduced bankroll with no penalty after quitting the Russian promo (e.g. some people may need to cash most of the roll out, I've just found out myself that I can't manage my liferoll as loose as before)?

Do winnings and losses on accounts at partner sites that aren't tracked to Pokerstrategy count? What proofs of volume / winnings should be provided (cashier screenshots etc)?

Sure, no problem.

Yes, there is no tracking requirement, instead a bonus raffle for active members.

Whatever you are currently using to track it yourself - ideally Holdem Manager 2 / Poker Tracker 4. Those are not compulsory though, main point is to motivate yourself to set and reach goals. Obviously keeping your progress documented and well maintained will also help you a lot.

I have one more dumb question, sorry...

By saying 'different amount of tickets depending on his current status', do you mean the status as of today, as of the opt-in day or as of the day of the raffle? I think it's better to make the number of tickets a function of both - reward consistency, but at the same time incentivise members to earn more SPs in October or November. You may even give tickets more dynamically - every week depending on the amount of SPs earned in the previous week.

Hey,

We will just take the status of the active participants at the end of November :)

What if I cash out? Because I have to cash out a little to live :)

In the Russian version of the promo, it's up to the member to decide whether to deduct cashouts from the bankroll or not, and I assume it should be the same here. Do as you wish, just be honest with yourself.

Personally, I don't like to deduct cashouts from the bankroll because it would make me farther from the HoF, which is meaningful in the English version (nets a status upgrade). That said, I hardly ever cash out :f_frown:, basically, only if I intend to leave a poker room altogether or if it bans my country.

I think it's fair to allow not deducting cashouts, as it makes the playing field level, everyone has the same objective regardless of the financial situation - to earn 4 times X before losing X, where X is up to the player and doesn't have to correspond to their real wealth. In the Russian version, some people like a HoFer and coach Kireev, were intentionally using risky 'tankroll management' to reach the goal faster.
