For some reason, I thought that 888 had pulled out of Canada, so I had not played there in the longest time.

Then I found I still had the client on my computer, opened it and discovered I had 20 bucks there.

I was playing PLO8 10, and had a lovely full house, but some had a lovelier one, and suddenly I found I had 20¢ left.

Fortunately, there is a freeroll every day at 17:00 UTC, and I've been min-cashing in these quite regularly -- and a couple of $1 cashes as well.

I've also played the $0.40 Double-or-Nothing games, and I've got a positive ROI in those.

I'm going to have a shot at building a LARGE bankroll starting with that 20¢

If Chris Ferguson can do it, why can't I?

And along the way, perhaps I can improve my NLHE skillz, which of all the formats I'm probably the weakest at. Except for maybe Stud, or Stud Hi/Lo, or NL 2-7 Single draw or ...

So here we go...
The plan:
:diamond:  Freerolls and $0.40 Double-or-Nothing tournaments to $10.00
:diamond:  Freerolls and $1.00 Double-or-Nothings to $20.00
:diamond:  Freerolls, $1.00 Double-or-Nothings and NL 2 cash to $50.00
:diamond:  NL 5 cash at $50.00 (keeping the freerolls and DoNs)
:diamond:  NL 10 at $100.00 and move up to the $5.00 DoNs

Binking one of the freerolls would make me an instant $100.00
Also, I just noticed that 888 has PLO8 DoNs which would suit me just fine.

Wish me luck!

Weird,
I thought I posted an update last week.

I must have failed to hit the "submit" button.

I can't remember where I was at that point, but over the week I've cashed in 3 freerolls.

Today's was interesting, since I did not make it back home in time to register, so I left it till the last minute.
I won 3 hands, but the last was the most interesting, and the one that took me into 200th place.
From there, I was pretty much card dead, and finished cashing in the 4th tier for $0.60

The bankroll now stands at $5.72
The bankroll floor is now $5.00 -- in other words, I play nothing but freerolls if I go below this.

The interesting hand?

Hey Vorpal, that's the first I've heard of your challenge, good luck!

As you may have heard, I'm in a similar situation at 888, but with a $65 head start.

I have a feeling, though, that it won't be too long until you overtake me.

Hello
An interesting plan, as I play at 888, I will try to apply a similar strategy ... so far I've played mainly freerolls, I almost just won $ 0 to $ 15 ... after I switched them to account, I'm just a little over 0, so could I make a plan .... Would you recommend me to play Freerolls and $ 0.40 Double-or-Nothing tournaments to $ 10.00?

Hey Vorpal, good luck. I will be watching your comeback closely.
I am trying one myself as we speak.
After blowing my BR at NL20 at the beginning of the year, I started at 0$ (Zero $) a couple of months ago by playing mainly the Saturday Club Freerolls which have a higher prizepool and all the tickets I won spinning.
I am up to 25$ now and will also occasionally play NL5 Snap or reg tables. Maybe I will try PLO too

Hey everyone,

For those who don't know, OP's computer recently broke, so he won't be here to answer your posts for a while. Obviously, this means that the Bankroll recovery challenge is also on hold for the time being.

Let's hope things will return to normal as soon as possible.

That's the idea of a challenge. Anybody can reload by depositing. And in real life, I played the freerolls and stuff on the side, while grinding somewhere else.

Good point -- however a freeroll only occupies one table, and I do them while doing forum posts, playing on other sites, studying, and all manner of other things.

Also, the 888 daily freerolls usually waste less than 40 minutes each.

All the best,

Update time...
I cashed in today's freeroll once again, bringing my total to $5.32.
I then played a $1 Blast using a ticket I got in yesterday's spin.
The multiplier was 5x, which means two places paid. I was leading going in to the all-in phase, but ended second for $1.50 -- nice.

My bankroll now stands at $6.82

I should try to make a graph of this...

Good job boss. I also cashed in two POkerclub freerolls today, once 40c and 2.40$ bumbing my BR to 27.37$.
Due to the rungood and having the client open to play freerolls I invested in 1.5$ rebuy tournament and I am currently ITM, so positive ROI guaranteed here too.
Next freeroll is starting in 10 Minutes.

Do you have tokens to buy cards for the royal crown?
It is easy to take $ 1 in the tournament, literally with one all in hand.
What freerol tournaments are you playing, and who are you currently level at 888?

I play the lucky chip -- and no, I don't have tokens for the royal crown. To get them, you must be playing cash games ($0.02/$0.05 or higher) or tournaments with a buy in of $1 or hither, and win with JJ - KK hole cards. Since my bankroll doesn't support those games yet, I'll have to do with the lucky chip dailies, and whatever other stuff I can glean from the daily spin.

I'm up to $7.29 and I might do a 40¢ DoN during my stream today.

It says I'm at level 42 -- and I'm about 3/4 the way to the next level if the blue line means what I think it means

All the best,

that the blue line this means for each level, they get gold tokens ...
I change 10 tokens for the card. Have you checked if you have any token?

Thanks mardibg for the tip about exchanging tokens for entries into the Royal Crown tournaments.
I did find my tokens, but I did not exchange any today.

I did however play a $1 blackjack hand to gain an entry into the Saturday Casino Mix freeroll.
I won the blackjack hand, so I now have $8.21

I busted out of the lucky chip freeroll this morning though AQ < TT

All the best,
