Made a lifetime graph :)
(since the beginning of this blog almost a year ago?)

only a little bit short of 500 000hands :f_p:
I tought it was gonna be more since my current roll is ~14k$ and I cashed out like 4000$ in the last monts but apparently u can't underestimate rakeback/bonusses while playing poker :)

since my roll is this high I'm going to start taking shots @NL400 when I feel ok with it

I cashed the 150$ reload bonus (reason I went to stars) and bought the 160$/10kFPP bonus (almost platinumstar btw)
I'm also playing the turbo takedown on stars and from there on I'll see what site my pokerjourney takes me
maybe I'll return to party because that's the only tracked site, maybe I'll stay on stars, maybe I'll go to FT for the rakeback or maybe I'll visit the iPoker network, who knows?

Hey there,

Nice winnings lately eh? What happened on the first 300K hands though, huge downswing? Cause it's pretty scary if that was just variance.

Best regards!

had a rather big downswing at NL100 (that's the steep part down just before 2009) but luckily I still had the roll to continue playing :)

I'm giving NL400 shots now, up 2 BI over 2000hands or so,

achieved platinumstar and played the 100FPP freeroll, got out with KQs vs 99, bummer but no biggie, will post again soon with updates of the NL400 play!

Hey y'all!

3things today:

2k on the table:

graph from NL400 up 'till now:

(2k boven EV lol)

graph from this month:

roll is ~16k$ so I'll be sticking to NL400, comfort zone is getting there, at least untill the first 10BI downswing ;)

where did you learn a style that causes your non-SD winnings to be so high?

Very nice making good shots at nl400! Gogogo win alot of moneys:D

Kruppe: Just wait for my graph this month! :P HU though...

I don't know, just be awesome I guess _cool:

just pick the right spots,
cbet less (c/f some flops as IR!),
play less oop and play tons of hands IP,
squeezing sometimes picks up a 10bb pot without even seeing a flop and if they call u can still win :)
2/3barrel more,
in general just have a plan with your hand if u cbet, have a reason to cbet (fit/fold opponent, equity, backdoordraws like overcard+GS+BDFD with Axs, made hand, scary board,...),
don't play 1 street poker,
bluffraise some rivers/turns/flops
don't c/c 2 streets and c/f river=>burning money, just like oh I'll call his raise and then on the next street fold on a blank with no reason whatsoever

but the main thing: think about your opponents range and how that connects to the board and if he can stand action, what's he repping and would he play that hand like this? narrow down his range and think about everything he does including betting close to pot or halfpot=>value/bluff/...? (just don't overlevel yourself, most of the time, level 1 or 2 thinking can get u there )

read the gold+ articles and watch some gold+ videos, u should learn the toughtprocess of some good higher stakes players there

search 2+2 for red line strategy posts, there are some nice posts by some of the regs in the SSNL forum

hope u like this post, spent way to long on writing it altough it may seem short

great post! thanks. i'm doing most of that stuff already, but i play 30BB poker against huge fish, so i don't have much room to make my opponents fold. i definately need to get a lot better at some of the things you mentioned though.

one thing i maybe disagree with:

imo there are plenty of situations where you call a turn bet and then even on a blank river villain's betting range becomes way tighter than his range for betting the turn, so you can actually fold.

but obviously if there is no reason to fold then you shouldn't fold :)

Only situations I can think of on the top of my head are when u have TPmedium/good K against a tightish player facing three barrels, other than that I rarely call flop and turn to fold to a river bet, I'd rather fold turn or turn my hand into a bluff :) (or offcourse, just call )

here's today:

damn you 2/4, 3k under EV, gonna step down a while

what's does "under ev" means exactly (not hitting cards) :f_confused: (donk)

that I lost a certain amount due to bad luck (EV=expected value so fi I run 3000 under that expected value I should have won 3000 more if I had run neutral)

Hey there Timothy. How are you doing? Give us some more updates =)

I'd like to ask you, if you would by any chance be interested in coaching? Next month I shall hire a few hours of coaching for myself. Drop a line in my blog if you're interested.

Cheers

hehe, had exams, will update soon!
about the coaching=>I'd rather focus on playing myself for a while since I haven't had time to do that

wow, very nice blog there !
It's been a while since you updated here Thimothy, give us some updates if you're still playing :-)

and a question from one who's about to give poker another shot, how strong you recommend to start the first 50$ Sticking to SSS ? It's not about SnG's for me, I just don't feel like playing SnG's in the beginning .

If that's SSS, probably not 100% SHC . I see people like to remove the AK as ALLIN hand no matter what, add some pp from certain positions etc etc .

+1 Although I know Timothy is still alive :)

Long time no post but here's my year in poker:

the black vertical lines are the individual months, so u can see what months I played a lot, lost/won a lot,...

My BR is nog 10k$ but I'm going to cash out a bit to buy a set of skis :)
I'm playing@ FT now on my fancy new macbook pro with the new pokertracker 3 for mac, rakeback is very nice since it arrives every week and don't have to wait months and clear bonusses,... like on party :)

Happy holidays everyone and enjoy the NYE!

and since the first page of this blog has a pic of my old setup, here's one of my current setup, only thing missing in the pic is my new magic mouse :)

I'll probably start a new blog in the new year too

brag: bought myself a sick ass pair of skis today:
