The Secret Weapon

This is a way of implementing David Allen's best system of life management into Evernote --> in the most awesome system to manage all the things you have to do and wish to do at some point in your life. Just awesome and I'm loving it.

http://www.thesecretweapon.org/

OMG! nice! i just started using Evernote like 3 days ago.
I hated the iphone's app for taking notes because you can´t sync it with your pc so i looked for an app that you can take easy notes and which you can sync with your PC and i found Evernote.
Found it really good and easy to sync!

I'll take a look to this web but i actually don't know what's that David Allen's system you'r talking about.

EDIT: ok i know what it is now haha, i'll write it down for a must read

The reading of the book is not necessary for applying the system presented there. I would apply what is suggested there and only read the book if I really wanted to know all the details, it is a very detailed book :)

Doing a little bit of research on hangovers 2day. Here are few of the things I found most useful
:spade: The concentration of some toxins called congeners influences the degree of your hangover. So red wine and dark liquaors sucks as bourbon, brandy, whiskey and tequila contain higher concentration ---> higher rate of hangovers. White wine and clear liquors suck as rum, vodka and giv have fewer congeners and therefore cause less frequent hangovers. Go for vodka if you want to hunt fish on the 1st of January

:spade:Because different alcoholic drinks (beer, wine, liquor) have different congeners, combining the various impurities can result in particularly severe hangover symptoms. Additionally, the carbonation in beer actually speeds up the absorption of alcohol. As a result, following beer with liquor gives the body even less time than usual to process the toxins.

:spade: As for remedies
:diamond: Myths therefore false claims : drinking the next morning/ burnt toast/ coffee
:diamond: Fatty foods help with prevention - they make the absorption slower --> therefore increase the chance of your processing the toxins in good time
:diamond: eggs are good for the first meal after a hangover (contain cysteine which helps with the metabolism)
:diamond: bananas are good remedy because they replenish the lost potassium
:diamond: Replenishing the body's water supply after a night of drinking combats dehydration, and it also helps dilute the leftover byproducts in the stomach. Adding salt and sugar to water helps replace the sodium and glycogen lost the night before.
Water helps with both prevention and recovery so be sure to drink lots of water all the time, before the bed and the morning after
:diamond:Fruit juices are good remedy as well (glucose, vitamins, minerals)
:diamond:The only complete cure for a hangover is time. No matter what a drinker does, the body still has to clean up all the toxic byproducts left over from the evening before

I took my info from here for those of you that want some more geeky details

Happy New Year to you all out there

The slow cooker you pictured is the same as mine :f_biggrin: You can make some sick nice meals with very little effort. In the majority of the dishes I make (Curries, chilli con carne, any stews and soups) the longer you cook them, the better they taste, so the slow cooker makes my meals the nuts (Not literally ofc) _cool: _cool:

Hi! Finally managed to catch up to two posts I did not manage to read earlier - sleep update & nutrition! And I have some questions!

  • Why do you put nuts in the fridge? Is it because of sprouting or other reason?
  • What kind of nuts you sprout?
  • What kind of sauces you use with slow cooked meals? You buy at supermarket or you make it yourself? Sauce recipe would be awesome! :f_eek:
  • What is MLM?

Buddy keep posting! Haven`t seen you for a while!! _o:

Hey guys, super busy life doing my best at uni exam period and poker along side.

@ maway I'm on the second week and it's awesome, I'm pretty sure that I'll stick to it till the end of the 9 weeks.

@Wriggers - got one like that as well last week, cooked twice at it, both times the results were delicious.

@rupucis:
-I put the nuts in the fridge to keep them fresh and be sure they don't degrade or something. this happens especially in the hot times of summer for me.

-I used walnuts and almonds for sprouting until now and they where pretty good. I suggest looking for individual indications if you want to make everything perfect

-No bought sauces in my house . Actually one of my next goals is to get to know how to make a few good sauces since they make the food taste really good and can be healthy by themselves.

-MLM - multi level marketing.

Hi DeMarcohsp,

unfortunately, your sleep optimization link doesn't seem to work - I'd be interested in this section. Would you mind fixing this?

Kind regards,

gsusin

Nice blog DeMarco!

I particularly liked your post on sleep management, it's something I've been working on a lot lately. I usually have around 9 hours of sleep, and I'm trying to lower that progressively, hopefully your advice will help me achieve that goal :)

Oh, as to your several nutrition posts, I just wanted to add that I'm a vegetarian, and in case any of you guys are interested, line seeds are a pretty good substitute for oily fish (they've also got a high Omega3 content).

Keep it up buddy!

Adrian.

Hey guys,

I've been slacking off during my exam month and lost some of my healthy habits, I'm getting back in shape but it takes some time as I want to make them more solid.

I will start to update this blog daily as a result of me watching the "Champions stand up one more time" series. This will keep me accountable in a way and also I will prolly meet some people through this as I really want to spend my time with "the right people". By "right people" I understand the ones that have common goals and aspirations as me and work actively on them.

About the sleeping part:
I found these articles very useful for implementing a waking up early routine. I'm in the process of optimizing my routine as well.

Hey

"A) The Hand-Reading Game -filter your HEM database for “Saw Showdown = True” -reply the hand street by street, and verbally articulate (or write down, or enter into Pokerstove) your estimate of villain's hand range on each street. Was the hand he actually showed down within the final narrowed range you gave him? -keep score, track results. If the hand villain showed down was in the final range you assigned him, you're 1 for 1. If it was outside the range, you're 0 for 1. Do 10 hands every day, and over the course of each week, track improvement in your average score out of 10 -you can add HEM filters to work on your hand-reading in a specific situation, for example when you're facing a flop check-raise, or when a loose-passive c/c's 3 streets, or in 3bet pots, etc. "

Here it is
