Hand converted with online PokerStrategy.com hand converter:

Play hand

$0.02/$0.05 No-Limit Hold'em (6 handed)

Known players:
[tg]BU$5.49:///////;SB$4.95:///////;BB$4.93:///////;MP2$3.58:///////;MP3 (Hero)$5.28:///////;CO$5.00:///////;[/tg]

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q:h, Q:d.
MP2 folds, Hero raises to $0.15, 2 folds, SB calls $0.13, BB calls $0.10.

Flop: ($0.45) 5:c, 4:h, T:h (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.20, Hero raises to $0.65, SB folds, BB raises to $2.20, Hero raises to $5.13, BB calls $2.58.

I didn't really think when I played the hand. Now I'm thinking he may 3bet with 55, 44 or with TT+ and maybe some heart combos. The range on which I put him in Equilab gives me 35% equity so I think maybe I should fold to his 3bet...

(TT+,55,AhKh,AhQh,KhQh,AhJh,KhJh,QhJh,7h6h,Ah5h)

Preflop: BB just called so he does not have appear to have a higher pp than yours.

Flop: BB led half and was faced with 3x raise from you. You demonstrated strength by raising preflop and on flop. Both of you are deep, BB with a big draw could have just called. Knowing that you had a made hand, BB reraised your bet. This looked to me a total value bet from a monster. BB wanted to protect his hand from this board.

On the basis of available information, I would have made the determination that this is a spot where a good hand is playing against a better hand, and since villain is most likely value betting, my strategy would be to lay off the worse hand.

If this is the first time villain battles with you for a big pot, give him respect and fold once he pot-raised your initial raise. If he shows a semi-bluff, well played, you will catch him sooner or later.

BTW this is one of my homework for lesson 7 of the beginner course.

Good analysis here.

THe flop re raise is very strong and we can fold to his raise. However I agree that our value raise 3 way into his donk bet for value since his Donking range is usually weak.

Thanks
