as for 3barreling yourself... the reg must be at least half decent so that he actually can give you credit. (rightly, given the field's tendencies)
i've seen it many times bad regs doing some ridiculous calldowns in pretty much pure fish "lolz i has TP" style :f_biggrin:

also remember that the theorem specifically mentions bet sizing (a big bet), although any 3barrel is most often a fairly good hand too ofc.

The best part though is that a decent amount of regs don't think to cover up timing tells, and when they're in the "lolz i has TP" mode, they call much quicker. :f_biggrin:

playing at a low frequency because my sleeping schedule sucks (as usual) :f_biggrin:
sessions are very short since that's as far as my attention span goes, at least i'm running pretty well. :f_biggrin:

here's an example of what happens

if its a fish, absolutely no brainer shove, he might as well check back the Jx sometimes, but he is NEVER EVER EVER EVER folding it
if its someone competent, just bet like 55-60% of the pot

yeah, the spr sucks, but you have to look at this on the turn really cuz ur gonna get into such awkward spots

even here, someone competent will probably fold his Jx most of the time here vs your river overbet, but if u make 2 bigger bets and leave yourself with like 60-65% on the river, he just isnt gonna like folding that often due to lol pot odds

other than that, nh

u can instamark him as a fish, his river call is worse than terrible vs your jam

yeah that's the point. if my brain was actually working then surely i would have noticed that the betsizings were being terrible

i haven't even played yesterday (and probably not playing today too), my schedule is too fucked up and thus the best i can reach is like B- game or something. :P
and his call, yeah, he actually kind of SNAPcalled it which i found to be hilarious. really thought i gave him an easy way out but nl25 regs :f_biggrin:

so i was thinking about getting back to schedule today. no such luck

Spoiler

this is almost hilarious, as of this month whenever i decide to put in more hands or happen to play well the stacks just happen to fly away somehow.
can't hit a flop, hit one underset and QQ is worst hand obv :f_cry:

well i might try again later i guess

i think vs such a nit openraising like TT+,AQ+ you should try and get it in on the flop as soon as possible, before he gets scared by an overcard/spade on the turn....

he is probably never folding an overpair otf and ur not getting any more streets from his overcard bluffs, so imo just raising flop is gonna be more +EV

the nit called pre and donked the flop which is much stronger than a cbet imo.

a raise is still attractive but i think i should give btn a shot at raising his overpairs/whatever or calling (no idea what is his actual range there), it's a bit higher variance but i think it's ok

making some profit with very short hit-and-run and lose-and-run sessions :P (at least it's better than playing hit-and-run and lose-and-getstuckforever)

monthly:

Spoiler

i think i'm slightly lacking on confidence as i haven't had a solid winning streak and that feeling of soulreading all the regs. :f_biggrin:

i might try some things to increase the volume, i think that all i need is a solid winning streak then i'll be able to put in long sessions everyday. sorry but i'm a results oriented fish and i can't seem to fix it :f_biggrin:

hello again :f_eek:

that was another fairly long break... i switched mostly to chess and life.
during that time, i figured two main issues that have plagued me through my entire online pokers career: bad self-confidence and massive amounts of lazy.

bad self-confidence: i guess this is a form of results orientation.
i feel bad after a few losing sessions and the questions start... "am i even profitable" "did the games change this much in this time" "how to play second pair" "is life good" "does mom still love me" etc and then i look for reasons to avoid playing. :f_biggrin:

massive amounts of lazy: this is related to lack of motivation. i'm not sure exactly how this happens, but i feel like it does happen to me pretty often in various areas...
so pokerwise, sometimes, for some reason i feel like posting hands and stuff isn't that important and then everyone knows how that goes... i end up not doing it.
fortunately, the solution for this is rather simple: start actually doing things :f_eek: but it'd be nice to eventually uncover what is behind it. this can probably help with the confidence issues too.

i'm not really sure on what i plan to do, but i've already started out with a plan of marking every single damn hand where i have any random doubt and posting it, no shame.
as you can see, i've already started pretty well with putting it in practice. :f_biggrin:

a fair number of them are fairly standard, but i believe that looking at "standard spots" is at least as important as reviewing big pots.

so, these are my highly subjective goals for this month (it's up to me to evaluate my progress honestly):

[ ] play often when my mind is feeling well
[ ] when i do play, post A LOT of hands
[ ] read a lot of other evaluations
[ ] something

gogogo? :f_biggrin:

allfail :f_biggrin:

i need more concrete goals, and love for the game :P i actually hardly even played that month.

so, right now i'm being a casual sometimes playing super massively overrolled nl10 and nl25, depending on my state of mind... mostly nl10 as it's a lot of fun, super soft and i soul own everyone
things haven't been going too bad (graphs from after previous post):

Spoiler

so, what can i say? i need concrete goals and regular posting in order to make myself accountable.
when i do actually make my Great Return (not now, dunno when), expect some srs sh25 grinding and daily posts, or something. it'll be FUN!

in the meanwhile here are some pro mlg plays that happened
