Worked out
Studied 1 hour
Coached 1 session
Grinded online CG 3 hours
Grinded live CG 3 hours
Ate healthy and drank tons of water
Took a nap in the afternoon to regenerate

Getting sick with throat ache whole day. Planing on visiting Gevgelija city to get some proper medication to take care of the problem!
Happy with my work and playing online. Live got butchered hard, -2 buy ins. Feel that I am running about 8 buy ins below EV live in past 5 days. Will continue working hard on my game, worst case scenario I will be back in Nis 20 tabling 15s 6 max. I would love to avoid going back to that after I have discovered endless possibilities for improvement that CG offers + higher hourly. But, lets wait and see what happens in next 4 weeks!

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 6/30
Studied 6/30 hours
Coaching 5/30 sessions
Online CG grind 30/150 hours
Live CG grind 22.5/130 hours
Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 6/30 days

Yesterday got sick with whole throatache, most likely had temperature, slept like 12+ hours sweating out.
Managed to coach 1 hour, study 1 hour and grind live 3 hours. Guess we can call it a day off of a sort!

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 6 (22nd of January)

Coached 1 session
Worked on my game 1 hour
Grinded live CG 3 hours
Ate healthy 3 meals and drank tons of water + tea
Went to Gevgelija to get medication in order to get better ASAP

Was the worst day for me so far in Gevgelija. Whole day felt sick, no energy to get out of the bed, couldn't work out. Basically whole immune system was down!
In the evening after taking lots of medication I slept for 2 and half hours, took a shower and went to play live 3 hours. Sat down with MSS and made over 100% ROI in 3 hours with 1 hand basically set over set (77 vs 33 on 87349 board).

Today I feel a bit better, there is no coaching session today (students didn't confirm the time) so I will be working on my game now more and going for workouts at 12. Plan to follow the whole time management for the day, hopefully my body will follow it as well as I plan more than 12 hours poker related today.

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 6/30
Studied 7/30 hours
Coaching 6/30 sessions
Online CG grind 30/150 hours
Live CG grind 25.5/130 hours
Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 7/30 days

Things completed so far in the challenge:
12/300 Study hours
19/300 Coaching sessions
70.5/1500 Grinding hours
17/150 Work outs
43 hours Live Poker

Here is the plan for today:
- Woke up ate healthy breakfast and took 1st dose of medications
- Work on my game 2 full hours 10:15 - 12:15
- Work out (CrossFit) + hit the pool and sauna 12:15 to 1pm
- Grind 1st online CG session 1-3pm
- Lunch + medication 3-3:30pm
- Grind 2nd online CG session 3:45-5:45pm
- Grind 3rd online CG session 6-7pm
- Dinner + medication (pump) 7-7:30pm
- Grind live 5 hours 8-1 or 2am depending on when I start and if there will be empty seat in the game

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 7 (23rd of January)

Worked on my game 1 hour
Worked out (had really hard time breathing)
Grinded online CG 5 hours
Grinded live CG 4.5 hours
Ate healthy 3 meals + drank tons of water and tea
Took a nap to regenerate + all the medication kicking in hard!

No coaching yesterday as no student confirmed the time. I used the time to work on my game, review marked hands, write out thinking process for them and work on my leaks.
Online CG went well. I am more and more happy how my focus is returning to the tables as I am making less bad calls compared to 3-4 days ago that cost me tons of buy ins.
Live CG was easy game, entered with 100 cashed out with 303 euros. Tons of fishes who have no clue about pot odds, pot to stack ratio and such.
I am still feeling very sick and ill but I can't afford to lie down and do nothing. Tons of things set and need to be accomplished so yesterday I worked out through pain barrier with huge difficulty breathing (felt like somebody was choking me cause of throat ache). Today I feel tiny bit better but feel that I will need at least 2 more days to get back to normal state. Until then plan to complete all my daily tasks. If something suffers it will be live poker for the sake of lying down in the bed, sweating more and getting better.

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 7/30
Studied 8/30 hours
Coaching 6/30 sessions
Online CG grind 35/150 hours
Live CG grind 30/130 hours
Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 8/30 days

13/300 Study hours
19/300 Coaching sessions
75.5/1500 Grinding hours
18/150 Work outs
47.5 hours Live Poker

Here is the plan for today:
Woke up, ate healthy, took all the medication and coached 1 session
About to work on my game 1 hour
Consider skipping work out not to jeopardize health situation further
Grind online CG 5 hours
Grind live CG 3-5 hours (depending on how I feel)
Eat healthy lunch and dinner + drink tons of water tea and take all the necessary medication

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 8 (24rd of January)

Ate healthy and drank tons of water + tea and medication
Coached 1 session
Worked on the game 0.5 hour
Grinded online CG 5 hours
Grinded live CG 2.5 hours
Crushed from 11:30am to 4pm sick

Not very productive day as you see. Yesterday I managed to work out through the pain and problems with breathing, today I choose to skip it with hopes that I will be 100% fit tomorrow and day after. Plan is to resume all the workouts as soon as I get 100% back in shape. I also was drained from all the medication I am taking so after starting to work on the game, I manage to last only half an hour. I removed the laptop from my lap to the side desk and just crushed hard. When I woke up it was 4pm, felt better but half of the day has already gone by. I am very happy with how I managed to organize my 2nd half of the day, it worked out awesome in the end.
Online still making some questionable calls but with far less frequency then before which I guess is OK. I am not happy 100% however and will not be until I remove this leak that has been haunting me since I discovered it. Live CG easy game, isolating KdJd and getting 4 calls, flopping 2nd nuts, betting half pot, getting 1 call, turn Qs, opponent c/calls my shove with TP with 3rd nuts FD. Easy game :)

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 7/30
Studied 8.5/30 hours
Coaching 7/30 sessions
Online CG grind 40/150 hours
Live CG grind 32.5/130 hours
Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 9/30 days
Robin Sharma's book "The Leader Who Had No Tittle" 0/90 pages

Things completed so far in the challenge:
13.5/300 Study hours
20/300 Coaching sessions
80.5/1500 Grinding hours
18/150 Work outs
50 hours Live Poker

Here is the plan for today (25th of January):
- Wake up 8:30am, go for breakfast and take all the medication before session
- Coaching session 10-11am
- CG coaching session 11:30-12:30 or 1pm
- If I feel better, go for workout and sauna 1 hour total
- Spend 1 hour grinding online CG
- Play free satelite for big tournament happening in February (550 buy in) count those hours towards live CG grind
- When finished with satelite go to room and grind 4 hours CG + fit 1 hour studying (reviewing hands and notes from coaching session)
- Before bed reflect on mission, vision, goals and challenge
This is just 1 sample time management for tomorrow. If I choose not to play MTT I will definitely aim to grind 5 hours both online and live

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 9 (25th January)

Ate healthy + drank tons of water, tea and medication
Worked out (had easier time then 2 days before)
Worked on the game 1 hour
Coached 1 session
Played live MTT 3 hours (busted after brake with 99 facing AQs , opponent hits Q and A turn river)
Played online CG 5 hours

In the evening I felt super sick. Was really cold and it turned out that my temperature was rising. I immediately order some more healthy things and hit the bed before 2am. Initial plan was to hit live CG for 2 hours to make it total 5 but I was drained and cold so decided to stay in.
Today I canceled coaching session as I still don't feel near 60% fit, temperature is going up and down. In 30 minutes I have coaching for CG which I am not sure how productively it will go (was rescheduled by coach yesterday). Will try to do 5 hours online cause I can play from my bed, study 1 hour for sure, go for work out in the room and if I feel better play live 3-5 hours.

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 8/30
Studied 9.5/30 hours
Coaching 8/30 sessions
Online CG grind 45/150 hours
Live CG grind 35.5/130 hours
Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 10/30 days

Things completed so far in the challenge:
14.5/300 Study hours
21/300 Coaching sessions
85.5/1500 Grinding hours
19/150 Work outs
53 hours Live Poker

Here is the plan for today (26th of January):
- About to eat super healthy and take medication
- Have coaching session 12:30-1:30 or so
- Work out and take a shower after it
- Work on the game 1 hour
- Go for healthy lunch around 3pm or so
- Start grinding online CG and finish it 5 hours in 3 sessions (2 2 1 or 1.5 2 1.5) with brakes in between by 9pm
- Consider going to live poker in the evening if I feel better

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 10 (26th January)

Ate healthy, drank tons of water tea + medication
Worked on the game 1 hour
Had a CG coaching session 1.5 hour (very useful)
Grinded online CG 6 hours

There was no live CG grinding last night. I finished all my online grinding by 9:20pm, called up poker manager to check the situation and he told me not to come down as there were no players waiting (only 1 player he mentioned).
So I stayed in the room, waited for his call if situation changes and grinded 1 more hour. In the meanwhile talked to my family over Viber.
I am still sick and have spent all the medication that I had. I will go to Gevgelija city again by cab to refill my medication cabinet. I am honestly hoping that this temperature + throat ache and breathing problem will be solved within next 48 hours.
This weekend (Friday and Saturday) my brother, best friend and Curly are coming to visit and hang out. They will also bring me my acoustic guitar which I am very happy about as I plan to play it in the evening after all the grind and days off from live grinding!
Final thing to mention is that playing sick 5-6 hours a day is definitely not recommended. I am nowhere near my A game, my focus is worse, at best I am playing some sort of C+ game. So once I get fully better I expect my focus to be more sharp and decision making process to follow it even better then now.
I choose not to be too harsh about current results and BE stretches as I understand that I am nowhere near my B game past weak + mental game problem. Therefore I am embracing the whole process and trying to make most of it by studying regularly and grinding steady.
I feel that this sick grind will help me when I return to Nis to continue putting in insane volume. Perhaps 5 hours CG 3 hours SNG or 4 hours SNG? Should be lots of fun, can't wait for it!

Things accomplished so far in the challenge:

Working out 8/30
Studied 10.5/30 hours
Coaching 8/30 sessions
Online CG grind 51/150 hours

Ate 3 healthy meals + 2l minimum of water 11/30 days

15.5/300 Study hours
21/300 Coaching sessions

Here is the plan for today (27th of January):
- Woke up ate took a shower and all my medication
- Coached 1 session

- About to leave for Gevgelija to refill my medication
- When I return I will study 1 hour (say 12:30-1:30pm)

- Grind 2nd session 1.5h
- Brake followed by 3rd session 2h grind
- Healthy dinner
- If I feel better work out in the room
- Go for live CG 3-5 hours grind

Some reflecting on challenge so far and things to expect in the future!

Things that I will most likely fail:
- Live CG grind
- Work outs

Live CG is a huge problem. 5 out of 7 days there is some sort of game happening and even there tables are not 6 max. Usually on "dead" days from Monday to Thursday I have to sit in with maximum 3 other fellow regs start playing and wait for some recreational to join us. This is of course huge minus EV for me to play cause 4 handed vs regs is just pointless with all the 3 and 4 bet dynamics. One of the days like that I lost 400 euros or 2 buy ins simply because there was some sick shopping by them and then the game ended (you can't get your money back - they tighten up, don't play a hand for 1 hour and then cash out!).
So I will most likely be grinding way less hours CG, say 4 days per week x 5 hours = 20 hours per week!
Good news is that remaining of the free time I can use for various other activities such as: more studying/working on the game, more grinding, more coaching, talking to my family best friend and my girls, just relax and watch some favorite tv shows, do additional work outs etc
When I was coming here idea was to play 6 out of 7 days per week 5 hours a day. This is how I set my goal for live CG grind. Despite the fact that I want to do this, in reality it is not possible because games usually happen Thursday through Monday - Tuesday and Wednesday is dead, Monday and Sunday are sometimes dead and slow.
Another very important thing that I want to mention is my time management. I don't want to jeopardize my sleep, working on the game, coaching, grinding online and instead stay and play CG until 5am or so! No way, I will never do this. I use poker software on my phone where I clock in 5 hours from 9 to 3am approximately and then when 5 hours run out I immediately cash out because I respect my body and system way too much to brake the rules and stay additional hours!
Final thing about live CG - some new grinders might be coming in the near future so there may be games every day here after all. Again there is no point playing with 5 regs (4 Serbian CG regs + 1 Greek reg) and then wait for 1 or 2 recreational player(s) on "dead" days to get payed off. Long term I always prefer online to live game, I see way more potential to make 100k+ a year online so there is really no need to play whole night 150 hands per night in 5 hours when in that time I can grind online 2500 hands on Zoom!

Work outs. I will most likely fail the goal simply because I couldn't work out steady while I am sick for 1 week. My whole immune system is down, I am sweating whole day long, my energy levels are all over the place, I feel dizzy during the day numerous times, when I grind online sometimes cards overlap in my eyes on laptop etc
With all this happening I simply cannot do strong work outs like I plan to do and not even that but even light work outs are problematic because of coughing, breathing problems and energy level problems!
With all this is mind it is unrealistic that I will make up the work outs by the end of 30 days here in Gevgelija but I will not give up and try to work out both early morning (in the room) and afternoon (swimming + gym) to make it up!

Things that I will likely complete:
- Online CG grind
- Studying CG/working on my game
- Coaching 30 sessions
- Eating healthy and drinking tons of water
- Read Robin Sharma's book "The Leader Who Had No Tittle" 90 pages

Since I plan to take additional days off due to lack of live CG, I will have additional hours to do all these great things. I am primarily very happy about my online CG grind 5 hours per day which is awesome considering the health problems past week.
Coaching will be made up on days that I will skip on live CG, do 2 instead of 1 session that day. Eating healthy and drinking tons of water is no problem as it is automatic system for me already set in place. Reading Robin Sharma's book 90 pages will happen on off live CG days where I plan to spend 2-3 hours each of those days reading the book and in next 19 days that should be made up.
Finally plan to use any extra time to work on my game and improve.

I am still considering if I should extend my stay here for 1 more month. If I do that I will still keep grinding online CG + live CG. But on the other hand if I go back home, maintain this type of time management, I can use 8-9pm until 2am or 3am to grind online SNGs to print even more money (grind 300 hours potentially per month and make easily over 6k per month post RB).
It is all out in the open as this year is all about 4 things for me:
- My brother becoming poker/SNG pro and making a steady living
- Me improving in CG to the point of total switch from SNGs by the end of 2015
- Making minimum 40k post RB no matter what it takes (to pay off one apartment mortgage)
- My students becoming poker pros and independent in 2016

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 12 (28th January)

Ate healthy, drank tons of water and tea + took up my medication
Coached 1 session
Worked on my game 1 hour
Went with fellow reg to Gevgelija for some coffee and hang out
Grinded online CG 3 hours
Talked to family and students
Visited doctor and then went back to Gevgelija for new medication

The major thing that happened yesterday was doctor appointment obviously. What is interesting about it is that doctor discovered I have bronchitis and traheitis. Doctor also mentioned that there is a virus going around now and it is very common in Gevgelija city also (whole hospital is filled with people with same virus that I have). What basically is big problem is I have bronchitis which has tendency to move towards lungs and traheitis is basically throat and breathing channels below it being blocked and infected to certain degree. All this resulted into brand new therapy (everything I was taking so far was for basic cold and last night I discovered that this ain't no basic type of cold!) which includes very powerful antibiotic (medication that only contains 3 pills that I am suppose to take 1 each day) and another medication whose intention is to make all the cough turn more watery so that I can spit out all the things settled in my lungs now. This new therapy is set for 3 days only! If I don't feel better or don't get better, they may extended it to 3 more days and then what may happen after that is some special injections. I honestly hope that within next 40ish hours I get fully fit cause this health issue is really affecting my time management and life overall.
I will keep you in track with what is happening daily.

Poker wise, there was no live game last night so I stayed in the room to relax from new medication. Remainder of the night chatted with my family, students and girls back home.

Here is what has happened today (29th of January) and plan for the rest of the day:
- Woke up and went for healthy breakfast
- Went for coffee with fellow reg
- Rescheduled all my future coaching sessions until my health situation is resolved
- Rested in the room while watching tons of TV Show (Arrow,Flash, Americans, Suits etc)
- Past 90 minutes studied/worked on the game by watching 2 videos and taking notes
- Rest of the day only plan is to take 2 medications 8:45pm!
Not sure if I will play any online or live CG tonight at all today but if I do feel my focus is better I will definitely give it a shoot most likely live CG which needs far less energy and focus vs online

P.S. Tomorrow night my brother, best friend and Curly are coming over. I very much look forward to that and hope that by some miracle within 24 hours I will get 100% back to health as I would hate myself so bad if I got some of them sick as well.

Gevgelija 30 Day Challenge

Day 13 (29th January)

Ate healthy and drank tons of water, tea + took all the medication
Had coffee with fellow reg
Rescheduled all my coaching sessions for future times until I get 100% fit again
Worked on the game 1.5 hour (watched 2 videos and took the notes)
Relaxed whole day with favorite TV Shows and 1 movie
Towards the end of the night my focus was way better from all the resting, went down to casino with intention to play live but there was no game (spent 1.5 hour waiting for game to start and it didn't obviously)

About health situation 1st. I felt better yesterday by 15-20% from new medication. It is still not drastic or huge change however. My cough is maturing a bit more but not enough. I feel I will need at least 3 more days to start to cough out things as it is not watery enough yet.
Studying through 2 useful videos was great. My focus was not that awesome but decent enough that I managed to think about all the concepts and take notes. It is best thing I can do now in such health state, everything else will just burn me money.
Taking time off from grinding online felt weird. My body and mind kept telling me stuff like its 3-4pm, you need to start grinding ASAP if you want to make that 5 hour live grind! It was really weird and powerful urge that I managed to overpower and just stay in the bed, sweat and try to sleep. I don't remember last time I had a "day off" from grinding in past 2 and half + years of starting to do poker??? It is definitely a weird feeling when you do something this long on daily basis and you do it for very long periods in each day. It becomes part of your life and even part of who you are. This is why I always remind myself that poker is something I love doing but I love music and guitar the most! So I plan to make certain amount of money in poker, enough that it will allow me to freely record and perform jazz music around the world and live stress free with accommodation and standard bills. Yesterday just showed me that whatever you do for so long and steady, it can become and feel like an addiction!!! This is why I feel proud and happy that I was able to say no to my body and mind and just not grind online yesterday!

Talked with my brother and best friend online about their arrival today!
Before bed I tried watching 3rd poker video and to take notes but it felt so out of my focus that I feel asleep at like 12 in the evening and woke up 8am this morning!

Here is what happened so far today (30th of January) and plan for the rest of the day:
Woke up at 8am, went for healthy breakfast and drank tons of water
Meet up with fellow reg for a coffee while watching Djokovic tennis match
Another fellow reg (from Denmark) joined us and we ended up spending from 9:15am until about 3pm time together (really cool guy, talked a lot not only about poker but rather life things and serious stuff - will write more about how this changes hotel stay in a good way as I have additional regs to hang with here during the day that are good guys not liers and people with no integrity or bad morals!)
Ate healthy lunch half an hour ago and drank water + tea
Now in the room, updating blog
In about 3 hours my brother, best friend and Curly will arrive
In between that time, I am considering to study minimum 2 hours by watching 3rd video from last night taking notes + reviewing hands and writing in depth thinking process
Alternative to that is to study 1 hour and to grind 1 hour online
In the evening I plan to play live CG (3-5 hours depending on organization with my brother, best friend and Curly) as there will definitely be games cause it is weekend, plenty of recreational players and full tables around
Really important thing for today: 8:45pm exactly I have last batch of prescribed medication to take. If tomorrow I don't feel 100%, I will visit doctor and get either 3 more days of medication or injections prescribed
